Happiness is like hearing the Earth breathing, i don´t know but i would dare to say this is the pinnacle of what a man with the actual ear and instruments can achieve.
I was lucky enough to see this exact performance live in 2019 with my father and grandmother. She's since left us but knowing that she got to see this live with me because I adore Jonsi and that for a few brief hours of this show in this video she's alive and well. It makes me feel bittersweet listening to this music again since that day. I really miss her.
@@tonywillis1533 Yes! Saw them live in Austin, TX in October 2024 and the entire time we just felt like the music and his voice were magically flowing through us, can't even be fully explained. And he appears onstage and you go omg, it's Jonsi, and you can't believe you're in the same room with him.
@@lockeridgedavid yeah, they released this link a couple of days ago. And you were a part of this?! Congratz, dude! Do you know if this will be made into an actual live album?
Magnificent. This is the sound of love and sadness and the bittersweet reality of being a human among humans bound together on a rock floating in the black soup of our universe.
@@axouldu78 Riceboy Sleeps is the name of the album. I got it on vinyl 10 years ago when it came out. I never thought it would be performed live, so this is quite a nice surprise for me.
when jonsi performs live, whether it be sigur ros, his solo work or with alex, the music takes on a new form. It expands and fills your soul and heart with both joy and sadness, but it's beautiful. so much extra care is put into performing it. Any shows he performs are truly magic, a once in a lifetime type of experience. I have only been lucky enough to see Jonsi on his Go tour, but it was the best night of my life, and I have copies of sigur ros's live sets, even not being there in person is truly profound and deeply moving. I wish this tour (Jonsi and Alex) would do a show closer to me, hopefully they add more dates.
seeing the depth of music Icelandic people create, I am sure that there is some beautiful bug in the Nordic people bodies which make their heart so warm and their soul shine so bright..
I often have though that Pleadian souls have inhabit some Nordic people. Pleadians are Brothers and sisters to Germanic peoples on earth. Seven Sisters is the star constellation where there inhabital planets dwell.
Indian Summer. Always takes me back, 11 years ago, smoking on the porch of my parent's home crying, grandma passed away a few hours ago, finding comfort in Jonsi's voice.
It's been 10 years since I first listened to Indian Summer, it's such a magnificent piece of music. Lying alone on my bed with all the lights off, ignoring the cacophony of the world outside, or walking in the rain with headphones on... so many memories associated with this song. That gradual build up and the burst of emotions at the end, it still hits the same, even today. Thank you, for being with me through all these years.
Thank you, How to train your dragon. Not just for the wonderful story of Hiccup and his friend Toothless, but also for showing me Jonsi. A man that has managed to capture the emotion of happiness in a song.
To you Jonsi Thank you for everything you’ve done to all of us, your music help me through every circumstances in my life, i remember listening your music in high school, even i just finish my master, i feel like your music grow with me, or it just me, the point is thank you!!!, i can’t describe how lucky i’m to hear your music since my teen, i don’t know how to said but thank you, you always had a place in my heart even in my life. Thank you
Hey, and i am here, just finished my high school and am in university and what is great is i am listening jonsi abt 3 years and he gives me the great feelings and senses and i am happy that i am alive and i listen jonsi , that is what i think all day
Breathtakingly good. As always! Saw Jónsi live 4 times, including Reykjavik, alongside Sigur Rós on multiple occasions. His side projects are equally good. Such an incredible talent. Even met Jónsi & Alex on New Years Eve in Reykjavik while watching the fireworks, and even kissed him on the cheek to which he replied "That was perfect". That moment still makes me smile, all these years later!
Once in a blue moon, a magical song comes to life and envelops our tired and weary world breathing a glimpse of hope back into it. This is a stunning piece. Thank you
I've been listening to Jonsi and Alex for 6+ years, and I don't know why it never occurred to me that they could play it live. But man, that auditorium had to be one of the most peaceful places while the orchestra was playing. Hearing this live is like a dying wish, and to be honest, if i was going out of this world, i would want to be listening to Happiness as I do
I've seen sigur ros live 3 times (once in the 2nd row center stage)... but seeing how they make those organic sounds, layer upon layer here is quite special.
I am really speechless. Its fascinating how they can express emotions and feelings we have in our heart by their music. I almost cried from the beauty of the concert. Their music really speaks to the soul. Thank you for all the efforts you do to fascinate us. Greetings from Egypt.
I saw “Riceboy Sleeps” performed as part of Wordless Music in New York about ten years ago, and it ranks as one of the best musical experiences of my life. Unforgettable.
Great music. Great perfomers. Great direction. But also shoutout to the audio, video, set/lighting and social media production (and everyone else invovled in this), as well. Listening is great, but having all of these together adds so much. Thank you from the States, SOH wooo❤️
This track made me human again. I've come back to my life. Just watched "Riceboy Sleeps" movie, and God help me to stop this tears of 90s nostalgia and my childhood days. There's something magical love and humanity in this track you've lost in this modern life. Thank you for this heart warming track! 😢😭❤️
The orchestral version of 'Indian Summer' is the most beautiful thing i've ever heard in my life... Thank you Jonsi & Somers for this blissfully beautiful gift for us.
Amazing version of Boy 1904, So subtle, the mixing of all these layers of sounds, voices, instruments is insane and so well balanced, I prefer listening this perfect live version instead of the album now!
I was lucky enough to see them on this tour. The only real tour they did. It was in Halloween in NYC. Hindi was dressed as a vampire and Alex was a werewolf lol it was the best concerts I’ve ever been to and one of the happiest days of my life. Music like this is literal medicine for any soul. Thank you
I found alex somers through Black Mirror. He and Sigur Ros made the song 'end'. Ive loved that song for years. Then one day i found a song from aaron dessinger called 'Big Red Machine'. In the same charity album, a song called 'happiness' by Alex and Jónsi was listed. I fell in love instantly. I only found this video by looking up happiness to try to find a live play of it. While happiness will always be my favorite overall, Indian summer performed live will always have a very special place un my heart 💜
I just saw this show in Boston at the Wilbur. OMG, first off, this is Heaven's Waiting Room music. I cried tears of joy a few times during this show because I honestly couldn't believe I was watching this album being performed live. This show shined my soul. If everybody listened to this music in the world, we wouldn't have so many problems. It shows you patience, it shows you earnst, anger, hopelessness, curiosity, playfulness, love, hate, doom, glory. It was definitely a lifetime hallmark moment. I hope this music lives on like Bach, Mozart, and all the other greats. Alex and Jonsi, and Sigur Ros. This music is what the Wyld Stallions (Bill and Ted) could be in our world...if more people just heard it. And please play All the Big Trees at my funeral for the last song. That song encompasses what I see when I look back in my past over my lifetime. And what I could become as well. Thank you Alex, Jonsi, and all of the wonderful musicians who I saw on Wednesday night in Boston. God Bless You
Describing LoVe through music is a rare thing and feeling its presence by sound only to experience the feeling of this instrumentals is alluring to hear and feel more. Euphoric 8:07 angels welcome you home.
