@@ishdawgy7706 i figured out that you'd need some 100€ish converter in the trunk that has to get wired, kinda complicated. i just bought a bluetooth transmitter, works out pretty well

Hang on mines different. Doesn't have a Bluetooth setting. However when the aux is in anyone else's phone, the bmw connects to my phone and I can control the music !

@@moarli6369 Basically I found out that mine just simply didn't have Bluetooth. I fit a screen in mine about a year ago with built in Bluetooth, but it was mostly to spice up the interior 😏

@@bradmace6144 you can buy a tcu/bluetooth antenna/mic to set up bluetooth factory style, bmw prewired most of these cars so everything is plug and play

Not all cars had Bluetooth from the factory. It was an option fitted at the dealer. MRT

It depends on what was purchased with your car. Mine did play music. Some do not.

I think some cars come equipped with the option to play music via Bluetooth and some don’t, mine doesn’t, I can only receive calls via Bluetooth. I’ve bought an aux Bluetooth piece which is gonna arrive from post soon so hoping that does the trick.

@@raight830 Just got it yesterday and it works perfectly. It has about 5 hours battery life though so I’m assuming I’d need to charge the Bluetooth piece for like 30 mins each weekend which is do able! Would recommend

Ahh, some of these professional bmw radio's don't have Bluetooth, the label on the radio will verify by the Bluetooth logo, big difference in price also

My radio don’t show the phone symbol on the radio
I had no problem with this, my problem is getting the car to play music from the iPhone. Specifically, Spotify but I've also tried iTunes or whatever they call that now and neither works. If it can send and receive an audio signal through the telephone it seems it should be able to do this but I've tried many times and ready to give up on it. Any idea what I'm missing?
The phone calls and music are different Bluetooth options. Not all cars came with both. They were an option turned on at the dealer and you need the right Bluetooth module. MRT

@@Cench123 Bluetooth is only for receiving and making phone calls, unfortunately you can't play music through it(you'd need a Bluetooth USB for that)

My 2008 335xi has a bluetooth module in the trunk yet the phone symbol doesn't appear in the radio. I can't get any BT request or anything. I owned a different 2008 335i before and it worked fine. What's going on?
The Bluetooth phone option was an option often fitted at the dealer. Not all cars have it. MRT
If you just see 2 dashes where it says “TEL” you have Bluetooth but the module is faulty, if you replace the module it should work fine

Have a look in the service books that came with the car. But this is a security issue so they cannot be stolen so they aren't easy to get hold of.
