I’m from Sheffield and just a few years younger than Clyde. Let me tell you something Clyde had a big reputation and really could have a fight. He never threw himself about like some of the others did at the time, never bragged or shouted his mouth off but if it ever came to it he really could look after himself.
I know somebody who done most of 70/s and 80/s on the circuit and bumped into paul here and there.he said he was the hardest man hed come across but never mentioned them sort of things about him.
I spent a few months at northsea camp sept 92..they got me picking cabbages in freezing weather..its a working farm with pigs...i cant beleve its been 32 years ago
Good podcast. Changed my mind a bit about Sykes now after watching yourself chat with Clyde. Thing is when I did my bit way back here in Scotland, we knew of serious players that punted brown inside, were going at the hurry up with the vulnerable/addicts/weak prisoners etc. Dog eat dog material. So I knew that it went on. Now about Sykes. It does ring true about screws scaring the Y.O’s with known faces/characters. I’m glad I watched this as it might just have changed my opinion of Sykes. I was COd with Michael just before he got his life sentence, was very close friends with him for quite some time. I'm from Lupset so knew Paul well. Sharpy was always a big lump, was benching 200kg in YOs. If you were pals with him he was a decent lad, had some right laughs with him. Really good podcast bud. 👏 bang on.

Before I got my first detention centre I was remanded in custody for 2 weeks for social enquiry reports I was at Gainsborough juvenile Court and they remanded me to Thorp arch remand Centre in westherby Yorkshire does Clyde know of it, 👌🏴🙏
That's true mate , but still did 54 days. In those days the system would normally send you to another jail for what they called a lay down, then a review. They kept us down block.
