The singer John Foster sang on one of my tracks recently called "Future" it was so cool to work with him, love his voice so much! This is my favourite 80s track!!!
I was 20 years old when this came out. And I had just moved out on my own. I was terrified and had no idea what I was doing. I just knew I had to get out of my parents' house. Somehow this music kept me sane -- "hiding from the danger that's been sent from hell" -- a perfect reference to the terror of AIDS. Hearing this song brings back so many emotions -- desperation, loneliness, anger, joy, anxiety, excitement. I'd just started college. I'm still grateful I had the support of friends, my sisters, a steady job waiting tables. I wouldn't have made it without all that support. And I'm glad that, memories of that anxiety-ridden era aside, this music still sounds so good to me.

I have one interesting set of memories associated with this song from when I was 21 years old in 1989 while mowing lawns for hire. While out mowing someone lawn someone with another lawn care service was working close by. The person with this other lawn care service was using a certain model of Shindaiwa back pack blower and had the engine on it running close to half throttle. With my "perfect pitch ability" going with what could be heard, I was picking up the note of G on the bass clef which was the engine running at the speed it was running at along with note of D on the treble clef which was produced by the impeller fan sucking air in and pushing it out. As I was enjoying what could be heard with the engine on that blower running at close to half throttle and was thinking about this song, I let my imagination go active and this song was soon playing through my mind on the key of G. Since then I have found it difficult to enjoy the original version of this song.
When music was fresh & exciting & you literally get chills thinking about the first time you heard it.
That synth melody at 0:12 is what keeps bringing me back to this track.
It sounds like an unplugged electric guitar lol.
