    HP quoted me half the price of the laptop to replace the screen. Thanks to eBay and your video I was able to do it for six times less money and in 2 days instead of 2 weeks. 🙏🏽

    Excellent video. Love the "be patient and take your time" advice. As a tech myself that is one of the most important things when doing work like this.

      @dandon1105 When connecting/disconnecting components it's possible to short out pins etc. It's always possible when there is still power connected to a board. Best to remove that possibility altogether.

    Very helpful. I was able to replace a screen on a company laptop after watching this. I did struggle putting the bottom of the bezzle back on so it helped to slide it in from one side with one of the tabs slightly bent out of the way.

    this bezel has been a nightmare and one I dread. thanks for the video.

    Great video. The bottom part of the bezel was a bear to remove. I ended up having to use an exact o knife at the front edge, away from the circuit board and cutting away at some kind of black plastic that would not allow me to remove it no matter how much rocking I did. At that point, it was away from the screen, but was hung up at the very bottom, near the hinges. Also note, that grabbing the whole bezel and moving it slightly to the left helped also.
    It took a long time to get the job done, but it's working! I'm a happy tech!!!! Thanks a bunch.

    Great video and I enjoy your detailed instructions as well as the humor you interject. Since the old screen is bad I cut the glue that holds the bezel with a straight edge razor blade or xacto knife before I removed it. Less chance of busting the bezel when you take it off. Also, the tape in your comments in 3 mm but when I watch the video the tape you used was either 5-6 mm. I bought the 3 mm and just used two strips on each side.

      Oops. Width isn't that important. As long as it sticks. The bezel pretty much holds it all in place. Thx, dale

    Thanks for this how-to, helped us fix ours and save some bucks. My gal is very pleased to have her laptop back, good as new. I did have a time with the getting that bezel tucked in at the bottom left of the screen, as the bezel tabs will push on the display connector cable and pop it out if you're not careful. But alas, working well after a few tries to get everything lined up correctly!

    Great job. I have had three different ways with HP for most resent models. Glue pulls from top or bottom and some still have screws in corners. But thank goodness heat guns are not involved with the delicateness of the back assembly bending easily.

    at 12 minutes u can see the screen is down and white part is with it right? so tell me why the guys who "replaced my screen" fucking super glued the white part to the backing of where it connects to. i WISH they would have used the streatch adhesive or atleast something else because i got everything off ( replacement screen stopped working ) so i got everything off and then i get to the actual screen and i try to see if they put the strips on left and right side back...nope... and i tried gently just pulling the screen forward and i look behind it and its just pure glue all over the back.....................................they super glued or some kind of permanent glued it to the white to the backing. i was trying to see like ok last ditch effort let me play around see what i can do , thinking something came loose or something. nope . its trash now but i am more comfortable doing things myself now so i guess thats a plus but what the frigggg who super glues or rubber cements the screen to the friggin back. SMH!!!!!!!!!

      @@olivierr5444 how did you handle the adhesives? Or holding the screen back in place. Were you able to get them yourself?

    • @olivierr5444
      @olivierr5444 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Skyllen8 To remove the factory adhesive you just need to stretch it away with a regular and smooth movement upward.
      To put the new display in place I used a regular double face tape, abt 1mm thick. Must be super careful though, as mine was super sticky and at my first attempt the display was not exactly adjusted. It was really a pain to remove that double face for a second attempt.

    Good video but please, If you want to do this professionally, disconnect the battery before you do this, seriously. I know it's extra work but it's worth it. There's 19 volts running through that LCD cable and if you're not careful you can fry your motherboard. You want to be responsible for that, working on other peoples stuff?

    • @remsitwebdesign3488
