Alex when i installed 6 1/2" speakers in my 240 i went on Amazon and ordered adaptors from Cardaptors. Made it so easy and fit perfectly. Plus you still use the original car door speaker grill.

Yo, replace the crank sensor, it's inexpensive and when you do check the plug to it make sure it attaches firmly. Old plugs on the hardness have a tendency to get loose and cause that problem.
The after market Apple Car/e units are really expensive for the amount of use as a driver you can really get out of it. Also they are very unfriendly to mount to older car. Maybe in another year? Instead you should look into a Bluetooth receiver unit, 1) they are pretty small & can be mounted hidden & remotely. 2) many manufacturers make them: Kenwood, JVC, Alpine. (It doesn’t have to be name brand but you get what you pay for.) 3) All you really need after that is a small amplifier (it is the only way your songs will come across loud enough on your stereo speakers.) If you just go to Best Buy or any local stereo shop they will show you how many items are needed. They will also be able to find the correct brackets for the entire install. Last thing I would like to say is that the latest Billie Eillish album wasn’t that good, IN MY OPINION, her first 3 albums I enjoy frequently, play loud in my car & look like an idiot singing along driving thru the skreetz. Not the most recent 1 though. Agree to disagree.

I got some aluminum door speaker mount/hoders made for the s13 (kinda like them yanky cardboard/woodish ones you pulled out of it) i have no use for, i can help out with your por s13
you could probably get some Hardboard Wall Panel for the speaker bracket and make it yourself, would be a lot cheaper. I used this stuff to create new door panels for my car
Amazon sells plastic ones they are dirt cheap. You just have to Dremel it some for larger speakers . Also make sure the amp is bypassed if your car came with one

Buy front and rear speaker adapters off amazon. Worth it. I have 6.5” all around no problem.

Just go to your parts store and tell them you want the door speaker spacers to fit a 240 but not the elevated ones incase they hit the door trim
