Flowers fantastic taste in salads, tuna wraps, & the leaves 2 or 3 of them chewed will clear your chest & lungs. Isn't mother nature amazing ❤️ very good video by the way.
Its very good. Thanks. I didn't know why we press down the soil ! I would just like to add that I think its best to let the water soak into the plant before we disturb the roots at all. Once those micro-roots are broken by even gentle disturbance, it might be difficult for the plant to drink. In ideal conditions, it doesn't matter, but we are not always in ideal conditions.
Thank you sir for your You tube presentation. Steps must be followed carefully. Sir, one doctor from USA wish to grow this plant in large scale for pharmaceutical purposes. As it is edible and leaves extract already has capsules in market for it's anti-virus property. Thanks and regards.
Thank you for walking us through the steps and showing us from beginning to end Which temperature they grow ? I live in humid and warm place (sometimes 70- 90 F degree with lots of rain ) so do i have to keep them in direct sun or shade and how often to water them? They germinate fine when i plant them but my issue is how to take care of them after germination. How often to water them outside where to keep them in sun or shade Last time they died after germinating i think either because of moving them to bigger pot or watering
They will grow in full sun but in your climate I would shield them from afternoon sun. Water them when the soil feels dry - but keep it moist to prolong flowering. Keep safe.
Thanks for your appreciation. Unfortunately this is just how the soil is in my garden - heavy clay. Not ideal but I still get most plants to grow in it.
@@LearnHow2 That is amazing. Usually in plant videos the soil mix is decidedly finer, such as compost and potting soil. I live in an area that has a clay soil so that was why I recognized your soil texture. We usually have to treat it to make it more conducive to plant growing. Your answer surprises me but it gives me hope.
Hi, thanks for sharing this! I have been trying to germinate and keeping them alive for months with little success. May I know if your compost is added with anything e.g. sand? Thank you.😀
I love your videos - so clear and easy to follow. Is it possible to grow nasturtiums in large containers? If so, what should the spacing be? I ask because we have so many slugs and snails that keep eating our plants and I'd prefer not to plant the nasturtiums in a bed.
t4echnically speaking nasturtiums are the decoy plants and hold up well to pests. Ideally pests attack the nasturtiums instead of the crops. That's how I was taught to plant them anyway.
Hi Penny. I let mine go but as a general rule removing dead flowers will give you better results as the plant will be putting energy into generating new growth rather than developing seeds.
Yes. The leaves can be used in a salad or stir fry. The flowers petals are a good addition to salads. They are known to be peppery, so add to your taste level. The petals, esp. the yellow ones, are very high in lutein, which is good for the eyes. The seeds can be pickled and are called the "poor man's caper".
Omgdayzzz iv done well then by plonking thrm straight in the ground which thrived a few years ago... Now I'm trying it's not working hence searching vid
Hi John. I grow hundreds of plants each year. I start them early (indoors) and the tray allows me to move them about easily and control their environment. This would be impractical for a large number of individual pots. If you want to use pots then no problem. Keep safe.
I learn a lot of good tips from watching your video on raising nasturtiums. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Thank you, I just bought some seeds and I'll plant them as you described.
good luck with your growing

Hi Loyce. That's great to hear!
Wow your plants look beautiful! Mine have lots of leaves but they are so tiny...
And they are edible!
Hi just wondering if here in the UK we could plant straight outside or is it better to start off in a tray thanks
Hi Kaz. They could be planted directly outside as they self seed successfully. Keep safe.
Wow, great job!
Should i water when the soil is dry after transplantation?
Yes.
Thank you..please may we have a video on planting coriander seeds
Thank you for walking us through the steps and showing us from beginning to end

one of my fav plants.
Yes - my Grandfather used to grow them and I've always liked them. Keep safe.
Beautifully illustrated.
Q: Why is the soil outside so rough looking? ( Large clods of dirt.)
Thanks for your appreciation. Unfortunately this is just how the soil is in my garden - heavy clay. Not ideal but I still get most plants to grow in it.

Grazie. Buona giornata!
Could they be grown by cutting as well ? Thank you. Really awesome.
Hello Jane. I believe you can grow from cuttings but I have no experience of it. Thank you for your appreciation and keep safe.

Thank you for the video. Do you need to harden off the nasturtiums before planting outside?
If you started them indoors, yes, you must harden them 9ff before transplanting outside. If you start them outside, there is no need.
Great video thank you...
What brand compost you use. Is it available at home depot? Looking forward to grow in my front yard. Thank you for sharing there beautiful!
I use 'Humax' Compost here in the UK. Just make sure you use a compost that is labelled as being suitable for seeds. Keep safe.
Great video can these go in hanging baskets ? Thank you
Hi Karlee. Yes they can! Keep safe.

Yes you can grow in containers. I have done it before. Leave about 10 inches between plants.
LearnHow2 thank you!

nice video.
Many many thanks Indrani. Keep safe.
Very well explained
Thank you for your appreciation. Stay safe.
where do you keep the covered seed tray? in the shade or in the sun? thank you
Keep it in a warm place but out of direct sunlight because the tiny seedlings can be frazzled by direct sunlight. Keep safe.
Can we grow in indoors near window sill..?
Yes you can! Keep safe.
Do you ever have to pinch them back? or just let them go?
Hi Penny. I let mine go but as a general rule removing dead flowers will give you better results as the plant will be putting energy into generating new growth rather than developing seeds.
Thank you for the detailed videao

I pull out the nasturtium vines as it disturb the footpath, now immensed in water, can I plant it? or, throw away?
Try planting them - you have nothing to lose. Keep safe.
Pre soak the seeds before planting.
Thank you for your tip.
thats not completely neccesary, not on Nasturtium.
Thank you so much!!
You're welcome!

is your FB ""1-Tips Everyday"". your videos are there too. How to grow nosturdium from seed
why not just start them directly in pots?
I grow lots of plants each year and start them early indoors. Propagation trays make handling and moving a lot easier in the early stages. Keep safe.
@@LearnHow2 I have begun to use that little expanding peat moss pucks from lowes as a starter... have you ever used those?

I like to give them a healthy start indoors. Keep safe.
