- Before we leave Kovalam & Trivandrum, we go on one last mission in this Kerala travel vlog - but our rickshaw is falling to pieces
Foreigners travel to India in a second hand rickshaw, and this week we go to the Kerala Technopark, eat appam and go and see the world's richest temple, Padmanabhaswamy Temple
If you like the videos, please dont forget to Subscribe and you will be notified when our next video is published / thosehappydays
Our overall plan in India is to travel via rickshaw/tuk tuk from the South to North (if it's possible?) The next leg of our journey is to travel all the way through Kerala, and then a bit more of Tamil Nadu before reach Karnataka
Here is the link for Ganesh Homestay, we really enjoyed our stay there g.co/kgs/M5i8iS
WE POST VIDEOS EVERY WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY 8PM AND SUNDAY 9AM (British Time
We have only just arrived in India, after a crazy time back home doing van life and living full time in our camper van conversion for two years in the UK. But after some serious engine problems that cost us a fortune, we came to India on a mission to honour Liam's Grandad's legacy who sadly died earlier this year. With the inheritance money Liam got from that, we bought the tuk tuk and named it after Liam's Grandad.
OUR JACKERY POWERBANK
We are in fact travelling with a Jackery Explorer 1000 and we LOVE IT! Does what we need. But Jackery have just brought out the NEW Jackery Solar Generator 1500 Pro - which is more powerful and it's quicker charging too. Here are the links to check it out:

I love the 'can fix anything' attitude. The rest of the west have a lot to learn as we enter our next phase!!
💯 we should all adopt it
India adopts the mend and make do attitude, nothings unfixable.
It is called "jugaad" in Hindi, Jugaad comes from the necessity of having to make do with scarce resources, both money and material, and it has shaped the way Indians deal with a variety of everyday situations.
Glad Pete is fine now! In India we dont go for new spares usually and the mechanic will always try to work out solutions with available resources. We are known for pushing things or devices to its maximum threshold. The replacement happens only when the part is unrepairable. Since all that the mechanic has to do is a couple of welds, the service charge is quite low.
Its very good value 👌
Love your videos....I'm a Big fan of India and Kerala in particular so watching this has brought back many happy memories...Many of the riches found at the temple were stashed there to hide them from the Britishers way back when !! Looking forward to more of your videos, thank you Both and Happy travels...
Britishers???
Kevin I'm also a big fan of Those Happy Days 😃 I spent 3 years solo travel vlogging In India, and most of my time was spent in Kerala. I actually went into that temple on Xmas day ,2020!!! Only Hindus can go in. I'm British Indian and they let me in!!!!!
@@sjbict Yes, the British
@@sjbict obviously from Britishers. Which country looted india worth of 45 trillion dollars it's british, even u build museum of London in which our God statues are there. If u r not thought about colonisation in school do check in google instead. And divided Bangladesh , Pakistan and india
@@anandg6983 Ali Jinnah insisted on the division of India. Nobody else wanted it as they knew what was likely to happen. I guess you know that already.
Indians are the original master metalurgists.
Your series is very good.
🙏💓
I really don't know why but just watching you guys in India really makes me happy! I'm probably world's most frustrated traveller, having kids too young and never enough money feel like I'm missing out on amazing experiences but glad to live it thru you guys to I can travel. Much love x
Love you joining us 😘
Come to India Dean, you don't need money here as long as we are here. Just book your flight and come . Always welcome 🙏🙏
The people here are so nice and friendly. The stereotypical rude image of the city is just an imagination.
Just go with it, babies!! Ur open minds and hearts always lead u to fun and memorable journeys
💓💓💓
Usually an auto rickshaw or tuk tuk is used only for short travel within a city, it is not an automobile designed for long travel, it neither has the engine capacity nor the seating design (both the driver and passenger) to munch miles. Since it does not have a door or window the constant wind is making Jenene tired, though Liam has a windscreen in front, for his height the driving posture is back breaking.
India looks amazing. I love your videos, and the food looks great. It's an eye-opener seeing how friendly the Indian people are.
So pleased you are enjoying it
Loving this journey around India. ‘Going with the flow’ goes against our structured European upbringings but wow you guys are showing us what tremendous opportunities it provides. Just say ‘yes’……love it x
Thank you, india is a perfect place to become a yes person
Liam, I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying your travels around India. It's totally amazing .I'm loving your vlogs keep up the good work mate India is an amazing place 👍🇮🇳 getting there is another question I'm 67 , if I was a lot younger I'd be there within a heartbeat sending love to you both I think you both amazing 👏 safe travelling👍❤️🇮🇳 Steven from 🏴 in Spain at the moment🇪🇸🍷🍷
you can still visit India and it is very laid back, safe and easy to enjoy the culture and food.
Thanks mate, I bet Spain will be starting to warm up soon too as we get closer to spring
Liam and Janine, there are so many rumours about mis trust in India and cheating. But your vlogs are showing us that there is such a BEAUTIFUL side to India. Re the support you received with getting Pete fixed, the helpfulness you have received with regard to Pete etc. I also came across people who helped me beyond measure on my travels through India. Some had hardly any money but they insisted that they gave me things for free. Yes India can be as scary as fook on those roads and like anywhere in the world ppl will wanna play you, but I love the fact that u are presenting us with the most BEAUTIFUL aspects of India. Re the trust of the ppl at the garage and the small repair cost. Thanks so much for that as afterall I am Indian 😃 Sooooo happy that you got Pete sorted and safe travels to you both. Love u both ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thank you, yeah the fact is the majority of people are extremely kind here. There are probably a few bad eggs that let the side down, but it's not worth tarnishing the whole country with the same brush. Same in the uk too 🙏💓
@@ThoseHappyDays absolutely. In every country there are bad eggs. The issue with India is that it has alot of dodgy dealings with scams, corruption and no remorse and it can get v dark. And sadly due to that there is a tendency to override the pure goodness of the majority of people in india. For example, On my first overnight train journey in India a man helped me to find my bed, he assembled it and helped me with my luggage. It was 2am in the morning and he must have been shattered, yet he put a total stranger before himself. On that train ride families offered me food and told me to sit with them and they wanted to be on my vlogs lol 😆. But sadly we only hear the downside to solo women on Indian trains. I'm sooooooo HAPPY that vlogs are mainstream nowadays as they show the truth about kind people in India ♥️ I would love to tell my stories of India to mainstream media, the good side and the tough side, but on all honesty it's not worth it as mainstream media can be v manipulative.
@@ThoseHappyDays 👍👍you will see what you want to see and good hearted people only can see the good in the world. The tall statue you saw in Kanyakumari is of the most famous Tamil poet/philosopher, lived two thousand years ago who wrote: "to talk I'll of something/someone is equivalent to eating an unripe fruit when you have also have a sweat ripe one"
Kerala is just different. Peace and tranquility lives and breathes.
Been watching you guys for a little while now. Love your content and your lust for life/adventure. You guys are great! Keep doing your thing guys. Happy days!!!
Thank you so much 💓
You Both Look so Happy and Healthy !!! What an amazing idea for a trial holiday tour !!!In a rick shaw !! With a driver !!
Yeah I think it might take off
Super videos auto rickshaw travel. Best of luck, travel continue. 😍😍😍❤️👍 Kerala gods own country Trivandrum.
Thank you 🇮🇳✌️
£3!!! You could had done with those prices to fix Morgan 😊 Loving your adventures. Great scenery. Good food. Lovely people. Where to next? Stay safe and happy travels xx
I know right, Morgan would have been repaired here for less than £100
Fantastic. Love your willingness to go with any new challenge. It makes things so much more interesting.
Thank you ❤️
We can see your getting a bit of colour and both of you are having amazing time.
It just gets better and better your tour of India , can’t wait for the next episode.
Thanks mate 🙏
I knew you would get Pete sorted. I am happy you did 👍 I think you'd make the Guiness Book of Records for travelling around India in Rickshaw and visiting 7 garages in one day 😊👍 and £3 quid to get Pete fixed, brilliant. Safe travels 🙏 💕
🤣🤣🤣🙏
Another brilliant video guys. For people that want to do India differently, your trip , even up to now is a fantastic idea and I’m sure will catch on. You should ask for shares in that guys rickshaw holiday business! 😂😂👍🏻
Haha not a bad idea 😄
Heart Stopping.. mouth watering. covering so many emotions!! Good Adventures..Yaaah.
Thank you so much 😀
Love watching your videos what a fabulous way of travelling around India. Great to see that Pete is all fixed up. Looking forward to seeing more great videos 👍

Thank you Lesley 🙏
Hey Guys thanks for the content, makes me wish I was with you both on a trip 😅 especially when you choose your food, very delicious!!! 😅😉 loving seeing India through your eyes xx
Clare, I think that Liam and Janine's bravery, patience and enthusiasm are tops. Their storytelling and photography skills are epic. They are my fav vloggers by far. In addition to their skills sets and personalities they are also v kind, helpful and compassionate people. ♥️
The food is easily one of the best things about this country, the people being the BESTEST thing though 🙏
@Those Happy Days 🥰😉👍 let me know if you're ever going round Pembrokeshire again 🥰
Good afternoon, beautiful people. Cottage industry, Silicon Valley, and opulence all in one day....plus good food. Wow! Interesting vlogs, thank you. Carry on enjoying the trip.
🙏🙏🇮🇳🇮🇳
Hello from Rhodes Greece 🥰 Another awesome video!!! What an adventure. Bless you both ❤️ Hugs and kisses 😘
Thank you! 🤗
Who'd have thought grandads meager legacy would lead to such adventures and inspire India's techno elite.... a legend and soothsayer predicting your life's journey no less ❤
Yay…the kindness is definitely restoring faith. Glad Pete is okay. Stay safe. Great stuff as usual. ✨👏🏻✨
Yes! Thank you!
Great video guys. Gives me happy memories of Kerala. I'm sure you will be heading for a boat trip in the back waters. Time to unwind..
You look as if you are getting into the groove of India. Accepting the craziness and even loving it. It's great as long as you don't try to fight it. Indian craziness will always win.
Lol India crazyness will always win. At times I use to try and fight the crazyness and ya know wot.... I never won! Hahahahaha 😜
Exactly, just need to go with it 🙏💓
Glad to know that Pete is fine! Going around entire India on a rickshaw would be an incredible feat! can definitely expect a lot of challenges but i would really love to see you finish it!
You know nobody does it like India 🇮🇳. If your Rickshaw 🛺 or train 🚂 Railway line breaks down , no problem they fix it in super speed time , whereas in the West it would take weeks/months/years !
Yashu I think that Liam and Janine are INCREDIBLY BRAVE. Their level of courage and bravery will give them lifetime memories of their times and travels in India. I did solo travel vlogging in India for 3 years but I would have never wanted the responsibilities of hiring and driving a rickshaw! Hats off to Liam and Janine. I adore them
@@baalah7 wow THANKU. Yes hats off to them. Never in my life would I ever think of buying a rickshaw and using it to explore India. How innovative of them. I did 3 years of solo travel in India but I used the usual modes of transport re trains and busses lol 😆 You are welcome to see my India travel vlogs if I wish ♥️
@@travellingyoginikas I would not be inclined to even hire a Rickshaw taxi, we hired a taxi for a day at a time , but not a Rickshaw 🛺, they are no so comfortable. Yes they are brave.
@@xvsupremacy7190 lol I wouldnt be inclined to hire a rickshaw either 😃
I wish I had an Indian friend at the moment. Our refrigerator and our car are kaput! Another great vlog. Thank you for taking me with you. That temple is unbelievable!
Wow,i LOVED that video. Loving the way you are just going with the flow and all the lovely food you are having. You both look so well and so happy. Thanks for taking us along on your trip x
Loving all your experiences, I love India x
Great video. Excitement and stress all in one! £3.00 for getting Pete sorted, got to love that. Keep safe on those rds guys and keep healthy. Excellent content. ✌️👍
Thanks Keith ✌️
Welcome to India esp my hometown Trivandrum.. hope you had a pleasant stay and have a good tour around India.
Thank you so much
What great experiences, good and not so good, you are having. Love it! Thank you. Keep going and stay safe.
Just a mix but always kind people it seems
Hi guys, this is your 2nd vlog that I watched today. You both are wonderful travellers. Keep up the good job. The contents are fabulous. I am a British Indian and know much about the Southern part of India as well. Kerala is definitely one of the best place to be. You'll get almost everything there, in terms of plain landscapes, beaches, hilly reagions, coffee and tea plantations, house boats, great food, spices and so on. IT is big in Kerala, but nit the biggest, youll find bigger IT parks in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Gurugram. I think Bangalore is the biggest of all
Never been there but man Indian people just seem to be some of the nicest people on the planet . Go India
The best mate
Hola 👋from New Mexico🌶️🌵...🕺💃 Happy dance Pete is on the road and fixed. The food looks so yummy.😋 Angels all around you and Pete. 💯🤗

You are too kind 💓🙏❤️
Spirit of Touring always wins, you both proving it in every trip 🙌🏼
Liam you tell it like it is, especially when you said, they tell you it's down there, but it took till the 8th garage, you have a great sense of humour. You both been in India that long, you can walk the talk now. Janine it was great that you filled in the details on the journey and love your pink sunglasses 💖
Thank you, just saying as I see it haha. It's a testament to their positivity
I really enjoyed your video. 🤩⭐️

You both are amazed with your fabulous and wonderful performance of this superb video footage. This is look like a reality show. So much capable of knowledge and information's about India and specially Tamil Nadu and Kerala at the moment. Both of yours positive attitude definitely leads to good results in the end. So far as everything should be fantastic on your tour of India. All the best and God bless you.
Brilliant, they are just getting better. Always excited to watch your next video😊
Thank you so much 😀
So glad you found a really good mechanic. Looks so windy in the back of the rickshaw but I suppose that helps with the heat by keeping you cool.
Yeah although much like a tumble drier sometimes haha
Can we travel India in a rickshaw? here is where we have been so far 🛺 th-cam.com/play/PLvYUExWBSWViLEgzR3-Wgs2dzr4BxTZIK.html
You both look so relaxed and fit n so well with India! You seem to have adjusted your diets so easily and enjoy the food. Keep doing yore videos and making people happyx ❤️
Thank you! Will do!
Another great vid. Glad Pete's ok now, bless. I name all my cars too. I think they all have their own personality lol. Call me off my 🛒, but hey ho, that's me 🤪

Brilliant video again guys, I love watching you both, as on this journey you have had nothing but help from strangers it is so lovely to see..
It really is lovely to see the good things and the not so good but at least you’re together and happy.❤😊
Thanks so much, we try to show all sides 😊
Another great video. I’m loving this trip!
Glad you enjoy it!
Aww glad Pete is fixed again, 🤞🏻 no more issues. As always, tha ks for the upload x
You’re welcome 😊
Rickshaws in Chennai are often modified to allow higher speeds. The silencer's are split open forcefully. The ones in rural areas are less noisy. The max speed allowed is 25 KMPH, but most ppl don't follow that. This vehicle is a people-mover to be used within urban limits, not to be used on a highway... Have a great journey.
Ah wow didn't know that
I didn't want this video to finish can't wait for your next one, see you soon guys
Thank you Susie ❤️
Thumbs up and fingers crossed.
Now our channel your video released please share to community tab... Happy journey.. Keep supporting..
I absolutely love your videos. You are a lovely couple with a fantastic, positive attitude to life. What I really love is your smiling faces under adversity, imprisonment (😀) and the tough roads of India. Your vids are also so well edited - they are great. You are a fabulous couple of people and so much fun to view!!
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the kind comment Bill 👍

So glad rickshaw Pete got fixed. Good welding by the mechanic. Liam and Janine you may have just started something big with rickshaw holidays. I think the news of an English couple traveling around India in a rickshaw has been spread around. You both will be famous by the end of your Indian travels. I'm loving it.❤

Hey guys, I love India and Im enjoying travelling through this wonderous country with you so much! One thing that I would change in your videos is music, we could really feel more of an Indian vibe with indian music in the background, especially when its shots of ashrams etc. Otherwise great videos!
I am now really itching to go back, or at least grab an indian take away :)
Have fun and Stay safe
