In this video, I flew out to Toronto to get the full story of Hush Blankets. Aaron and Leor started this business while working their 9-5's, and they made one of the craziest rebounds I've ever seen from an ecommerce business - the best part, Aaron shared exactly how they did it.

This is a little different than our usual style of interviews... what do you think of this "documentary" style?
This was fun, I like the documentary style. Would be cool to see more like this in the future.
Wait you are using the lessons you got from Aaron 😂
Anyway thi video was dope and documentary style videos are much better because it give a full look into the journey.
This documentary format is top class 🔥
this was really fun to watch actually
All these success story’s have something in common, they started instead of just talking about it , it’s like that with anything in life , going to gym , paying off dept , just put on foot forward and keep trucking
yep, if it doesnt work out, you pivot!
Literally just no BS. Straight up two innovators
Amazing story. 48 months is impressive
Anyone else think they could’ve easily negotiated a higher buyout number given how many products they have & how they took their time with each one?
What revenue & profit numbers did they have per year?
100 million would've been better
It's just a blanket. no patent. no brand. I mean who gives a fuck about brand on a blanket?
@@sebastian3004 It might be just a blanket, but there's brand and patent pending. And obviously, customers and lawyers do care about brands.
Thanks for having me guys!
Super inspiring story man! Great to see fellow Canadians killing it. I think the reason why brands/people don't lean into building community (the way you guys have) is because it takes time, patience & a willingness to grind. People have been sold on this concept that they can throw up a ton of ads & make the big bucks, but almost everyone fails to factor in idea that business isn't just selling, it's a continuation upon selling; the formation of a relationship.
Love what you're doing here. Old school concepts with new age mindset. Keep on keepin on 👍
Oy, I was wondering why you sold, if its profitable and self bootstrapped?
Congratulations. This is what the game is all about. Serving others, building something great, taking risks, perseverance, enjoying the adventure and reaping the reward.
This was excellent! No nonsense , simply how they did it. Upbeat, short and clear!
couldn't stop myself from commenting, one of the best ever videos & learned so much in just a few minutes, love you guys. The real learning!
The production quality and storytelling is elite and gets better with each video.
You are amazing
Thank You for every thing you do
Thanks guys. That's such an amazing and motivating story.
MY PARTNER RECOMMENDED THE CHANNEL & THIS EPISODE.
I LOVED LISTENING TO THIS. THANK YOU
That customer feedback to product development iteration cycle is really common in tech startups. Really interesting to see it is applicable in other industries as well.
I am proud of these guys. Very well done.
Amazing job telling this story! Aaron is the real deal.
This approach sounds so simple, but it's incredibly solid!
Great Video, and an even greater story!
Right on. Good for these guys.
If you care customers see it and they care back. Lesson learned.
This is a great story. One thing that stands out though is the acquisition was for 52% of the company with $25M in cash. A fantastic achievement in 48 months, but why not say they sold a majority stake for $25M which brought the valuation to $48M? Saying they sold for $48M is not accurate.
Very impressive video, Pat. Love the style, length, and content. You seemed perfectly natural narrating the story.
This style was so incredible - keep up the great job Pat!
Amazing storytelling, Amazing company and Amazing video editing!
Needed to see this. Thanks for sharing.
Not sure why, but this made me so emotional! This story is amazing!
Amazing! Loved watching this!
amazing story! loved seeing their progression and hearing about the way their customers were a part of innovation.
Asa fellow Canadian myself I am so proud of these two. I love seeing young ppl shine, especially the good ones who have a genuine heart to better the planet and themselves. Congratulations gentlemen. ❤🎉❤🎉❤❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤
The point that I've got from this story. Success is not a short-term result, it takes a long time, consistency, confidence, and belief in yourself. Thank you for inspiring me!
Dude these are epic, engaging and very entertaining.
The storytelling is top teir from start to finish.
Not going to lie, tried to watch another video and you have just set your benchmark with these new videos.
Awesome job.🎉🎉
I love the stories that you share on this channel bro
what a great interview and video :) thank you
Hands down .. this pod is one the best interns of value that it gives .. simple idea .. and that is (talk to your customers) .. understand your balance sheet through the eye of customers ... And then add products to the basic idea .. and then show case your product where the big boys are .. this video if understood properly can make a difference to your life ...and finally they built the business to sell ...bravo
This is an amazing & inspiring story!
so much value in one video!
Another awesome vid. Thanks man!!
This style of video is what i originally expected from this channel. I really like it and it is engaging

Crazy story. Well deserved!
Thank you so much for this insight. I’m going to incorporate this style of marketing into my business.
Excellent show. Subbed.
Keep it up! Great work. These videos are addictive.
I love this story 🎉🎉
Love this! There’s a lot of internet in this story but finally a tangible product !
This is a great story, so inspiring :)
love it! I'm on the same path as them & hope to soon reach my goals!
they are smart and they are clear about their objective which is making money, not changing the world, not building fancy AI stuff just making money love it
keep up this style of videos. these will make your channel blow up
super inspirational
Didn't catch this in the video. What drained Hush's bank account? After so much success how did they go broke after one summer of poor sales? Are the costs of maintaining this business that high? Overspend on inventory? Pretty wild detail that I didn't see and would have made a good lesson for us.
They didn’t properly forecast sales for summer so they were sat on too much stock that they couldn’t liquidate. The lesson: consider when and why your market buys. More people are likely to buy warm blankets in the colder months and never in the summer. Good idea to run a sale to clear your stock in spring to give you liquidity over summer. Also diversify your product offering so your business isn’t held to ransom by seasons.
WOW! Well done!
Fav vid of yours so far. Super well made and an inspiring story
I like this documentary style 🙌
awesome story
I am glad their efforts did work out and they made a right decision of selling weighted blankets first without wasting any time or money for marketing. Not many people would have booked time with them to talk about what they need if they didn’t buy something from them before. And weighted blanket established that bridge and brought some sort of trust.
Soooooo many great lessons. 🎉
We LOVE this story, great advice, and super cool branding!
Insane!!!! very inspiring story :)
Incredible content! Keep it up🔥
Great story
Just discovered this channel. Could you create another video that goes into how they went from material, to making a blanket, packaging, etc?
Great story.
Inspired this. I’m ready to shoot my shot with my app platform!
I am 58 & I love me weighted blanket, just pure comfort.
I love this!
The background music father gawd!!!
I L O V E THEIR STORY,,,,,,,, I REALLY DO. SO INSPIRING.
finally no subscription BS
300000 results doesn't mean 300000 people searching for your searched key
anyways it worked
The results speak for themselves, though.
I've done a lot of these things and I can say that talking to customers is one of the most draining things I've ever experienced. Beneficial, but it was just painful. That is one reason why some people don't do it. It could just be a personality type that enjoys it, but I am pretty introverted and it just is what it is. I've done it a lot and in a sustained way, in case you think it was a fear thing. It never got better.
Absolutely incredible story. Never heard of them but I am interested in the weighted Iced 2.0 blanket now 🤣
Very inspiring story and well put together documentary+interview.
Like the people you are filming, your youtube channel will go places
The only thing I don’t get is if the customer already bought a blanket then surely the reason they aren’t buying again is because they already have one? Am I missing something here, as to me a blanket is like a one time purchase
Literally what I thought lol. Like you don’t need a new blanket every month.
I feel like they were glossing over a more complicated part of the story tbh.
good content I like the documentary style story
You talked to customers and knew the pain-point. Literally watching this, I wanted to buy the pillow... Want to now, seeing how much you put into getting the weighted blanket made.
This is one of my favorite TH-cam channels now. Awesome stories, inspiring, and just fun all around. Well done 👏👏
Best video of the game
this was a really cool story
what a masterpiece. I really liked this video, and It's also very helpful. Keep it up like that. I like both the inverviews and the documentary style tho. Your channel is amazing!
Thank you Vic!
INSANE WHAT CONSISTENCY & THE POWER OF NEVER GIVING UP CAN DO 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
1:14 Im telling you people with this tenacity and hard work tend to be rich Ive know so many people who are like this who just keeps pushing and so determined to win, from their humble beginning , they are all billionaires here in my place
This is really inspiring, as a young entrepreneur who has gone bust and went bankrupt I can relate to their entrepreneur journey.
Did you ever get back on top financially?
@@dicksmashwell785 not really, for it happened a few months ago and my business went bankrupt.
I am currently figuring out how to fundraise and get production back. My business is still viable it's just that we lost working capital.
This channel is going to make it big
This is awesome. Thank you to everyone who made the video.
BY FAR the best video you've put out. This is exactly what I thought this channel would be when I saw my first video from you guys. Was a little disappointed back then. But this is legit.
I feel like I ain't pushing enough some people out there are really putting in the work.
Awesome channel awesome people
very inspiring !!
Brilliant!
Was there an incentive given to customers to talk to them ? For the other products ? Did they pay other customers or an agency to speak with people to fit market their product ?
Great story
This is awesome
Another certified Starter Story banger
Awesome 👏
The thumbnail is by far the best one you've made. It looks so cool 🔥
Thank you my friend. What do you like about it?
The thing I like the most is the word Underdog having a bigger spot than the numbers. For me, the usual big catchy number has become a cheap resource (even though it works). That is why naming the video The Underdog made me perceive it as a more professional production. Also, the blur background and the focus on Aaron draws your eyes to him, creating a sort of connection.
Overall, the thumbnail puts a focus on the story, rather than the number and I believe it improves the quality of the production and it differentiates from the rest of tik tok style videos.
I’m just talking as a viewer here so I'm sure there are a lot of other things to consider. You're videos are improving everyday, I hope this helps you keep doing that! 😁
Great video!
