    In Import Tuner Challenge (Shutokou Battle X), the PAs do function as additional areas to talk to and challenge other racers, so that is likely to make a comeback.

    Nowadays racing games aren't used to be awesome as the late 90s & early 2000s, so my expectation from the Genki's new TXR game isn't that high. But i still looking to it.

    I might get flamed for this but, I really wish the handling were like Wangan Midnight; not as if in wmmt style but something similar to ps2 ver, just a fast pace, high grip and fun handling that requires mastery.

      For me both handling models were similar although ps2 WM is slower I think

      @@Zeg-eh5ik I wished it didn't not become a bumper car racing (although, it makes the game more competitive as console/pc-arcade racing). For me the WM ps2 was a perfect handling model that have ever come from Genki, It was not a loose floaty as TXR0 and wasn't stiff like TXR3... Just a really luke warm comfortable handling.

      @@Eizy_Art yeah I agree that the handling feels straight out of the arcade and when combined with the good replay cams TXRZ has, it feels good to play and watch.
      A shame the meta is the Devil Z Type B for almost everything and the Blackbird Type C for the Wangan (all the other cars dont even come close to those two)

      Ps2 WM has a very similar handling to tokyo xtreme racer zero (as the arcade game by NAMCO is based on txr 0,and the ps2 game is a port of the NAMCO arcade game,not talking about wmmt.) so it maybe would be good mixed with txr 3 handling.

      Just like you said,a perfect one. Not that stiff like TXR 3 And not that floaty like txr 0

    Genki mentioned a return to their roots, so I hope they follow TXR0 as the template. Great music, nice handling model with a real sense of weight and downforce, and a good ensemble of both high-end and low-end JDM cars (with some foreign models thrown in for good measure). Obviously, add in a few mechanics and features from the other games (engine swaps, different tires, turbo boost toggle, weather conditions, Racing Battle's item system, PAs like in Import Tuner, etc...) and it'd make for a great entry.
    Also, if they do add US cars, I hope to see the GSX Eclipse. Just feels wrong having a street racing game with no Eclipse (or just the GST).

    You forgot to mention some things from import tuner challenge, such as the neon light customizations, nitro, its version of vinyl customization which is like a combination of 2 and 3, and a bunch of other things I can't think of. I do like the idea of parking areas and possible gas stations being used to change wheels or refuel while chatting with other racers

    The handling is less floaty and more based in actual realism. You need to ACTUALLY tune your vehicle for stages, just like real life. You need to equip the right tire for the situation, You need to properly brake and account for turns, and you need to monitor wear on every consumable. it may be a high speed game, but that doesn’t mean you never brake. A properly set up vehicle on any TXR game will handle phenomenal. This handling complaint has been a talking point since 2005 and it’s just wrong to me. I feel like a lot of people expect an arcade handling model from a game that never once claimed that title. ITC had a more ‘arcade’ handling model, and many people will agree that it felt slightly worse.

    • @Shinobu_D21
      @Shinobu_D21 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      TXR3 strikes a very unique balance between an arcade style and a realistic style to allow tuning to make such a huge difference I hope they go with something similar to its handling in this new game. Also the game handles really well on a wheel if you've ever had the chance to play it using a wheel of the same time period

    • @Steve30x
      @Steve30x หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Shinobu_D21 I don't know what real cars you've driven but the car handling in Tokyo Xtreme racer 3 is absolutely nothing like real car handling. The car handling in that game is weird as hell. When you steer the car turns in that direction but when you stop steering it rebounds slightly back to the opposite direction instead of going straight. I hope they don't use the Tokyo Xtreme racer 3 physics.

    • @Steve30x
      @Steve30x หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've played a whole lot of SIMs and arcade racing games. Tokyo Xtreme 3 isn't floaty I agree. It's more like elasticated rebound. It's nothing like a real racing game or arcade racer.
      Plus just because the game doesn't claim it's an arcade it doesn't mean it's a SIM racer. Tokyo arcade racer games are 100% arcade.
      I Play Tokyo Xtreme racer like I would a SIM and brake before corners and turn in when I should turn in. But I don't expect the car to wobble and slightly turn left after I'm finished turning right. That's far from realistic.
      I actually prefer the import tuner challenge physics. The one thing I dislike about that game is the camera angles. The chase cam is too low and the cockpit camera is too zoomed in and very restricted. I'd love that games physics but with the Tokyo Xtreme racer 3 chase camera and a hood cam instead of cockpit camera or an adjustable camera with height , field of view and distance.

    Step 1
    DO NOT PUT A SINGLE SUPER OR HYPER CARS. KEEP THE ROSTER WITH ROAD LEGAL,ACCESSIBLE CARS THAT EVERYONE CAN BUY. Don't go for the GT7,Forza and The Crew route with the car roster. Keep it Japanese mostly then add some little minuscule imports cars from europe and NA. The magic of TXR games is making "Slow cars, go fast".
    Step 2
    Keep the funny,goofy and ridiculous writing for characters lore. Keep the special racing effects on bosses and special wanderes
    Step 3
    KEEP IT RPG FOCUS. MAKE IT GRINDY. Something truly missing with today age of racing games is that they got 0 progression. All games give you a hyper electrica porsche car for free. Cut that thing off and make people work their ass off to improve their cars
    Step 4
    DON'T PANDER TO THE "MODERN AUDIENCE". Make your game the way you want to make it. TXT is a franchise for people who are passionate about cars, who loves car culture, who loves the technical and cars terminologies. Don't dumb down this concepts. Don't try to make it easier, don't try to make it more accessible. Make a game that focus on making the people who supported and loved this franchise and kept it alive yelling into everyone to play it. Make a game for those people a really passionate and dedicated fanbase who never gave up on the IP. Keep the oil temps, water temps, add fuel system so players cannot just keep racing all night without having to invest resources, make the tire wear more noticeable
    Step 5
    Keep the rival system and the special conditions to be able to race them. Make the game full of secrets and cameos and winks to other racing games franchises,movies,anime and many others media dedicated to car culture.
    Step 6
    Penalize heavily crashing,wall riding and blocking so we avoid a "Wangan Midnight" gameplay situation where all players do is put half a car in front of their opponent to push them back so they end up crashing into each other without any penalty or regression for their speed
    I cannot wait for this game. I'm a lover of this franchise and i legit cried went i was washing a live stream and someone said "The Tokyo Xtreme Racer twitter posted something and got a steam page!"

      Brother, we had supercars like Porsche 964, Dodge Viper, Chevrolet Corvette, Ford GT, Gemballa and DeTomaso in the series. Hell, TXR2 had a cut Ferrari Testarossa that is fully playable via cheats.
      Supercars always had a place in TXR, and I think having them included is great.
      Also you ARE penalized for wall-riding and dirty driving in general. You drain your SP bar faster in the Highway games, you wear out your car faster making them handle worse in the Kaido games, as well as getting a worse BAD name.

    • @TEddyVLK
      @TEddyVLK หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      >> Add fuel system so players cannot just keep racing all night without having to invest resources
      Recipe for disaster. TXR is all about how far can you reach on that day with what you got BEFORE the unlockables, NOT how the game limits it
      Sure the TXR3 added Water temp and Oil temp to see how the player overcome it (To me is just minor inconvenience because you can cool down them instantly in PA and good to go for next battle) but fuel system is way too far of limitation for Highway focused racing game.
      Also i want to point out that each rivals car that in TXR3 are plot and spec accurate, You either be smart on who you go against or be stubborn to beat faster rivals with slow car with upgrades, it not always about winning in this game, you have to consider the strategy on who you up against (I once beat gloomy angel with AE111 out of sheer luck and out of topic on the vid, beating white charisma using AZ1 in TXR0)

      What I was trying to say is that I don't think wall riding is penalised enough actually, at least in TXR3, & while hitting walls or traffic harder will deplete more of your SP bar, I think that smooth wall riding isn't penalised enough as it usually doesn't make you think twice about it like it should.
      Using a similar SP system to TXRD2 wouldn't be a bad idea as SP drains quickly when you're far away from an opponent, & I just think the threshold for wall riding should be decreased.
