We shouldn’t thank them. This focus on Portugal for more than three episodes isn’t normal. There is a geopolitical agenda I am sure. Portugal more under the thumb of the U.S. isn’t good idea. I live in Portugal …am Portuguese but born in U.S. Believe me..we don’t need more of that here.

A Direita só sabe privatizar tudo para "poupar" dinheiro! My family left Madeira and Azores to work plantations in Hawaii. Never taught us anything about Portugal. Now I see how beautiful it is...the music, the people, the places. Feel we were jacked! Now I can't stay away from it! Like it was always there sleeping and finally woke up! Learning to speak and thinking about reverse immigration! My country was just waiting for me! I love it!

No, we don’t need anyone to come too soon. Tourism is fine to a point but now it is getting out of control, especially with Americans and too many are moving here. I am Portuguese..live here but was born in the U.S. Believe me, they will just is politically in not a good way and their influence isn’t anything we need more of.

That comment is from a troll or AI…same comment in all posts. I am Portuguese, live in Portugal but was born in the U.S. No, this coverage isn’t good. You probably don’t even live here anymore. There are too many Americans moving here…it is t good for the country and locals are heavily affected by the huge rising costs of housing. So, no it isn’t a good thing.

Portugal actually dates much further back (2000 years ago, "Portus Cale" already existed), but it only became a sovereign kingdom in the 12th century. Before then, Portugal was a county. Our first king (D. Afonso Henriques) fought against his own mother for the county's independence. That story repeated itself when D. Pedro IV fought against his father for the independence of Brazil, becoming the first emperor of Brazil.

Fado/flamenco guitar was introduced to the rock music world by Fleetwood Mac and Peter Green in part 2 of the original recording of 'Oh Well.' 1969.
But they didn't pick the portuguese guitar, the real "fado" guitar.

Why has GMA done 3-4 episodes on Portugal??!?! What is going on? I feel like this is a geological agenda somewhere. Most Portuguese don’t want more Americans moving here…there are too many. The housing costs have skyrocketed, and locals have been very negatively affected. Don’t think bringing that population here will help us…it won’t, and we know the motives often for these kinds of media blitzes. Enough…people here are struggling already and bringing more wealthy Americans here isn’t helping. I am Portuguese (all my family is from here), I have lived here for several years, but I was born in the U.S. So, I know what both sides. FYI…Fado has been on the world stage for years!!! Just because Americans didn’t know about it doesn’t mean Fado isn’t well known!
