Short bar is the main bar so it will be in the bottom. Then the top distributory bar.(bottom mesh).top mesh distributory bar will be first and main bar on the top. Lapping is not allowed in a same junction. It should be alternate. And lapping should be atleast 0.45 of diameter of the reinforcement.

Sir, what is the size of bars for bottom mesh and top mesh. In the drawing it is wrongly written as 6mm@8" c/c . it should be 12mm or 16mm bar .

1. In bottom mesh main bar is provided at bottom and in top mesh main bar is provided at top...
2.why lap are provided at parallel location?
Sir I suppose the execution of work is not according to drawing. You have said that bottom main bars should be below the dist bars. And the top ones above dist bars as it is clear from drawing. However in actual you have placed top main bars below dist bars.

kindly explain how to check directions of main and distributions bars. in this example, it is easy as both bars are of the same size but the main bar is different with distribution bar it is difficult for fresh graduates like me. kindly make next video regarding this topic.

Position of main bars and distribution bars on either top or bottom is not correct... Main bar at bottom stays main bar at top also.. main bars at bottom should be along the shorter length....
