Welcome To Cog Hill Farm: Good wholesome family fun on the farm!
Welcome to our farm adventure! In this exciting TH-cam video, we invite you to join us as we embark on a journey of transformation and compassion for our beloved animals.
In this episode, we're making a big decision that will have a significant impact on the future well-being of our farm animals. We've decided to change up the pasture layout, creating a 3rd paddock for our farm and mainly so we now have 3 paddocks for the milk goats to rotate in and out of. The process of building and setting the posts for the pastures is underway, and we're thrilled to share this pivotal moment with you.
Through this video, you'll witness our dedication to animal welfare as we work tirelessly to design pastures that prioritize the happiness and health of our farm animals. Each decision we make is guided by our commitment to providing the best possible living conditions for our cherished residents.
As we take you through the process, you'll see the love and care we pour into each aspect of this transformation. From carefully selecting the ideal locations to ensuring ample space and resources for our animals, every detail has been thoughtfully considered.
Join us as we discuss the major implications of this project, not only for our animals' happiness but also for the long-term sustainability and success of our farm.

Thanks for watching this episode of life on our family farm!
Y'all be good,
Jason, Brooke, MaryCarl, & the entire Cog Squad
Cog Hill Farm
You two are knocking it out of the park!!!!
YOU GUY'S ROCK...!!! THANKS FOR SHARE'IN.... GOD BLESS..!
I miss seeing nugget from running around when he was let out in the morning
Me too
Me three!!!! Wonder if that will happen soon
Me too!
It was comical to watch, indeed, but he has so much room to roam now, he doesn't need to stretch his legs in the morning. 😊
That was when Nugget was confined over night to that little corral on the old farm. Now he has that half acre space that he lives in now, and I think, overall he's a lot happier. Personally I would be saddened to see Nugget confined overnight again.
Love watching you working together ❤
I always enjoy the music that you choose. Your videos give this retired nurse such joy. Thanks to both of you for such consistent quality to my life.
I am always so impressed with how clean your pastures are and how simply beautiful your whole farm is. Jason, Brooke and Mary Carl are the hardest working people on the internet 💕
@susanmorgan8416 That's the same thing I was saying, these two are out here in the heat working hard for their animals, just so their animals can have great big pastures to run around graze & be happy, happy animals. And it's just the 2 of them doing all this 🐕🐮🐄🐖🐷🐐🐐🦃🐔🐔🐓🐓🐣🐤🐥🐦🐦🦆🦆🐝💮🏵🌺🌺🌻🌻🌼🌼🌱🌱🌳🌴🌾🌿🍂
@@5GreenAcresSTOP! They are all hard working!
@@5GreenAcres Wow, no need to be nasty. Jason and Brooke grow their own food as well, and they are VERY hard workin'. MaryCarl isn't afraid, she has been on here many times, she just chooses not to be on as much. If you prefer the other homestead...why don't you just stay over there and not be nasty over here. You have a choice too. Have a good day.
@5GreenAcres can we please not be so mean to one another. This is a positive channel. If you watched the live last night you would understand. Have a great day
@@5GreenAcres MaryCarl isn't "scared" to be on camera, she's just coming into her formidable years & doesn't want to do it on the internet, which shows she is a smart girl! So, Not scared, just smart.
Brooke and Jason, you are a remarkable team. Not only do you work hard, hard, hard, but you do it with so much respect and affection for one another. Bless you both, and thanks, as always, for letting us tag along.
💯💯👍👍
Amen to that❤

I have seen a lot of good times out in the pasture but not once have I seen folks funky dancing 🕺 +💃 = happy work. 🙏👍🌻
Beautiful job on the fence! Very professionally.. equally spaced and height!
You two are some hard working people! Love how you are turning the 40 acres into your dream.Brooke, I really enjoy your videos, especially the one about making soap. All the animals are so glad to just see coming!
😊:
Make sure to put something around the trees to protect them from the goats. They will take the bark off the trunk as well the leaves and the trees will die.
Please put a white picket fence around Mary Carl's tree.will fit her personality
oh come on we had goats they never ate our trees
@@carlbenj1668either you was lucky, or your goats didn’t like that particular trees bark.
@@carlbenj1668
Maybe not on older, mature trees, but on younger ones with more tender bark and being able to get to the leaves, yes they can destroy the trees. Jason made comments about the smaller trees eventually providing additional shade to the pasture. Those trees would be vulnerable to foraging goats or sheep.
If you watch Grandpa Adler Farms or Walker Family Farm, you can see the damage caused by goats (Adler) and what they did to prevent sheep from damaging trees (Walker).
Better safe than sorry. It takes many years to grow a tree and a few days for goats to destroy it.
I love being able to see all of your property and watching you two take the time to dance together while diggin those posts in the hot Summer Sun!
I ain't gonna lie... Alabama skies are Beautiful! And... now your pastures are so beautiful & GREEN with all the rain! Wish I lived there! Thanks for just being you... you are Fabulous 💕💕💕
Michele
100% 100% I ain't going Lie!!!!
Job well done!!!!.....remember as much as you wont this done now....take your time.....your animals are happy where they are ♥♥
You both sound completely worn out. Hard tedious work in crazy heat. Its ok to take your time. ❤
As sickening and divisive you tube can be, there is a group that you are part of that are extremely helpful and provide support in a positive manner.
Your videos and positive attitudes breed this interaction... Thank you
Looking amazing!!! WhooHoo!!! 💙💙💙

All I can say. You two are amazing! Good day. Love to all Cog Hill Farm Family.
The two of you are such hard workers. The respect you show each other is remarkable. I'm so honored to feel like part of your family. Your farm has always been beautiful your just making it more. The babies are so lucky to be yours. Thank you for taking me on your journey.
Protect the trees you like the goats will strip the bark....love your channel 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
I’m just glad they’ll have trees now! But your right goats love bark!
I’m so glad the animals will have trees for shade. It be so Hot 🥵 your doing a great job Jason and Brooke ! Helping your animals
Expert or not you two are doing a phenomenal job at putting up the fences for all the animals. Do it right the first time and it will be done 👍😄❤❤❤❤❤
💯💯👍👍
I little flower arbour with a gate would be so cute for the entrance to MaryCarl’s area ❤️
I was not ready to see Brooke tweerkin!! 😳😳😂
You all are flying with them t posts. Good job.
Another day in the book! Good job. Enjoy a nice meal and relax a bit. Be good !!!
I love the way how you look after the farm and the animals it's makes a smile on my face and love watching your channel ❤️
Hard working couple who love and respect each other. The farm and animals always looks so well cared for. Loved the dance.
Thanks!
I am amazed at how much you have accomplished! The animals are going to love their new pastures.
Omg. Never clicked so fast before. Been waiting for y'all to post all morning! Let's go!!
Love it when you said what are you digging for Holly and Brooke said truffles. I cracked up I love your all's sense of humor.I can see why you're both sore in different areas. Jason with the lifting of the post driver. Brooke having to squat every time putting a post in and lighting it up. Then getting in the beep beep and pulling forward and out again. My late husband and I had a fence company I helped him every day. Sorry to say he passed from skin cancer. And I'm left with a lot of spinal cord issues. I'm only 56 but I walk like I'm 86.
You guys have the best farm channel on TH-cam. I never tire of watching you. There's never a dull moment on the Coghill Family Farm channel.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The brush is where you need to put your goats!!! I cleared over 70 acres with goats. Love your show, You are doing a wonderful job building your ranch. Its is one of the best programs on the net
Thank you and keep up the good work.
Bill McCallister

Y'all sure worked hard today. Glad you went and got a good meal. GOD bless Y'all.
💯💯👍👍
I love the way y’all do everything together.
OMG, you two are amazing, I am not sure I could do what you are doing with putting all those posts in with that heat, I am from Alaska and am in AC all day here in Florida but then again, I am in my 70's now so I guess I have an excuse? LOL GOD BLESS you two.
Good morning Cog Squad.I'm so glad that those bracelets are working for you Jason...what a great idea!
Just goes to show you how much work goes into getting a farm / garden / homestead set up. Can’t wait to see what it looks like in 5 years
I've said it time and time again. Thank you for bringing so much joy on a daily basis
Hard work in the hot sun, but you all are smiling and happy! Gotta love the Cog Hill folks. 💕🇨🇦
Love watching you guys work together, great teamwork, lots of ♥️,and love … never lose those feelings 👍🏼♥️♥️
Good Morning Sweet Family!! What an Adorable little Town! You're Such a Blessing to me! I Always have a Smile on my face when I'm done watching your Videos!! 🌹😊❤
You are doing such an amazing job, even as difficult as it is, hard ground, hills, changing plans. It will be such an amazing area for the animals. Thank you for all the love you give them.
You two are the hardest working couple and as a result you are building a most beautiful farm. The heat is brutal this summer so please be careful and take lots of breaks. I love when you show the local cafe and the scenic downtown. You show everyone the beauty of a small southern town. Take care. ♥️🥰♥️
You 2 are my heros. My goodness gracious. ❤
You love your animals, they love you, and y'all do everything for them. ❤❤❤
Good morning y'all! It's great to have choices isn't it? Love that you guys are open to new ideas and changing your minds as you go along. ❤😊
That new style post driver looks very nice looks a lot lighter than the old ones the other ones I watch people have a hard time lifting them up they're so heavy that one looks like it's nice and light😁😁😁
Amazing forward thinking aka pre-planning the pastures. Having a 3 pasture rotation available for the goats is the best idea possible plus the shade is a necessity. My weather is similar to yours. Just as you and Brooke stated after driving the last T-post, 'this shade feels good!'. Having that available for your babies is definitely typical of Brooke and Jason. The health and well-being of your babies is always paramount. The smart way you are approaching the fencing will provide. 60 acres of benefits from your 40 acres. Forward thinking at it's finest!
That post driver is amazing. Saved you from really hard work and to get through the rocks below. Love you guys ❤
I love when you take us to lunch with you! Your pastures are looking awesome!!
That gas powered pole driver is such blessing to help you get the fencing done! Your pastures are going to be so beautiful! It's such a joy to me in today's times to see a beautiful couple work together to get their dreams come true!!! Your small town is a beautiful! I remember my small town I grew up in! Thank you for taking me along on your journey! God Bless You and your family 🙏🙏🙏
Seems like you could streamline your T-post process with a third person to drive as the two of you do the post alignment and driving.
Nice to see a different view of the land. Love those trees.
That downtown shot was pretty!
Although it has been very hot there, I think you have had enough rain to keep everything nice and green. Hey Jason, how is your fruit orchard doing?
Ya all are amazing. You get so much work done in a day. lovely fencing. Bravo. 💞
The new pastures are so beautiful! The babies are going to love it there! ❤❤❤
Several other Homesteaders have dealt with putting their goats in their woods. Lester at LHL’s for one. In fact they want the goats to clear out all that yummy stuff.
You guys are doing an absolutely marvelous job. It’s hard to believe this place was started from scratch.
BROOKE POLE DANCING LOL!❤❤❤ YOU TWO CRACK ME UP! THANKS FOR THE GIGGLES!!😂😂😂
Your animals are going to be so happy more happier than they are now.❤️❤️❤️
Bless your hearts. It's going to look awesome when you get it finished. Please just take plenty of breaks to cool down and drink some water. We not spring chickens any more. Love y'all ❤
There have been farmers dying of heatstroke due to the extreme heat so please, everyone, give your animals some deep shade. This heat affects them too. I make sure that my chicken coop is built under a huge shade tree and ducks have the same set-up. I dont have any four legged critters yet but I see them trying to seek shade and water right next me. The neighbor has a cattle farm. The cows will huddle under a tree line trying to get out of the horrible Sun. I know that I cannot be out in it past 11am in Western Kentucky.
Y'all be safe out there.
@sheliadavis7255 We reached 100 yesterday, so my thermometer read.....and it is under my porch in shade. Our real feel was 114 according to Accuweather. Can't imagine what it was like in Alabama yesterday.
Thanks for taking us along on your journey to building your dream. I personally love it. Stay blessed.
Well done Jason and Brooke, I bet your T Posting when you dreaming at night. That’s a lot of T Posts. Love the way your thinking of what is best for your animals all the time. ✨👏👏👏✨👍♥️👍♥️👍♥️👍
I love seeing your vision of the farm come together, it is turning out so beautiful! ❤ your babies will be so happy with their new digs!
good morning jason. Brooke. marycarl. its all coming along so fast. im so excited i could watch you all day. Blessings to you all.
I bet many of us are thinking the same thing, about wishing we were closer to y'all and could help you out. You're working so hard on those pastures. And the heat is not helping. You guys need a big swimming pool.
Animals will be moving on up. To that penthouse in the sky. Living the high life. Awesome.
Job well done. I applaud you both!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
It is going to be so rewarding when you have all of your hard work done! I really enjoyed seeing Mary Carl in the video she is such a sweet young lady!
You 2 are hard-working people, you are perfect for each other
Those animals are soon movin..on up, just like the song says.. but they are already living pretty dang good!😂
Y'alls enthusiasm and joy is contagious! Blessings! 🙏
Your kindness jumps off the screen and your videos brighten my day. All the best to you.
Hello. Well if that didn’t deserve a lemonade Jason I don’t know what did. You both work so so hard to live your dream. Hope your both not too sore. Be careful in the heat would hate either one to get heat exhaustion. As I know your determined to get it done. Please take care. God Bless. 🙏💕
So glad to see you guys sitting down to a good meal after working soooo hard!❤
Lol Jason! You hanging up in the air trying to pull that post out! I hope when Moody and Mildred get in the new pasture....I hope they run and have fun together. You guys did a fantastic job today!
It will look amazing when you have it all done.
You both work so hard and you are doing a great job with the fence. Please don't get to hot.
