Yep! I wonder sometimes wonder what my neighbors think about what they hear from the other side of our shared walls. 😂 Every time I leave the home I tell my puppy and kitties where I'm going and how long I think I will be gone. The furbabies look at me intently as they listen. And I think they understand a lot of what I say. But the neighbors probably think I'm nuts because they know I'm the only human in the home. 😅
All a person can do is hope for the best. Glad your fencing is getting closer to the end. Puppies are very hard to resist will hope for her sake that her owner comes forward.

I definitely do NOT approve of people dumping animals on others, but I know where I live it happens often. Our animal control shelter is constantly full to capacity, and when full they do not accept any more animals. Some people find themselves in difficult situations where they can’t keep their pets. If the shelter can’t accept them, then what? Recently someone tied their dog to a sign in front of the shelter. They left food and water and a note telling their pets name, and please find someone that would love and care for it. The shelter was seeking info on who the dogs owner was because they were going to prosecute them for abandoning an animal. I never heard of the owner was found. It seemed to me that they did the best they could, if they had nobody to take it.
I'm sure that if you ask for someone to step up and adopt that puppy, you'd get lots of volunteers from the Cog Squad because that's just how the Cog Squad rolls!
Y'all are going to have to figure out a standby plan for finding homes for these animals. I know this before I even watch this! People are taking advantage of your kindness but it's just going to end up being too much for you to home these animals on your own 40. And I know you love all animals❤😢 Maybe start a nonprofit or put these animals on your website for adoption or even have another Channel just for adoptions!?
We live in the North GA Bintang and people just dump their dogs up here like a domesticated dog can easily survive on its own. Not so. It's heartbreaking. I had similar thoughts about the Smiths needing to be careful when they found DeeDee because one can only care for so many dogs (along with all of the other animals they have!)
@@RayneZaleska Yup, I was thinking the same at the time Brooke found Deedee and I saw your comment or someone else's saying something to the point of getting ready to be a dump site for unwanted pet (esp. dogs). Their area looks like too far away from any walking distance for Deedee and this new pup to just happen to be there.
Hopefully she was not dumped at your property, it happens very often. Someone left 4 pregnant cats at our ranch a few months back, all of which delivered their babies within 3 days of arrival. It can become problematic when you suddenly are responsible for 4 females & a total of 22 kittens.
I live out in the sticks also and have had a lot of dumps over the years. One thing that you should feel real good about is the fact that those cats delivered four days after coming to your house. Animals will quite often hold off delivering until they feel safe and comfortable. Cats especially. I truly don't know how they do it. But it's the ultimate compliment you could have gotten that after only four days they felt comfortable enough to start dropping them babies. Not only that, they felt comfortable enough to allow you to count them because cats will quite often hide their babies you must be a special kind of person
That happened to me… ended up with 18. For 19 years I never had a rat… with in a month of the last one dying we started having big rats in our outside building.. keep them cats and stay rat free.
Bless your heart. I keep ending up with cats too. I've spent a lot spaying and neutering but I keep "finding"kittens. It isn't their fault. I just feed whatever shows up and try to stay ahead on the spay/neuter cycle. We luckily have a low cost clinic near us. Hugs.

JuneBug probably chewed something and her last owners gave up. She’s a little cutie. Once MaryCarl put the collar on her she was home. Just watch out for the Rooster that’s gonna show up. He’s noisy! I am so impressed with the back breaking work the two of you do to make your farm complete. Farmers overall deserve to be more respected than they are. We need ya!
When I adopted my puppy at a rescue shelter I saw that they had a big sign at their gate. It said that dumping animals there was a crime, that cameras were in use, and that violators would be prosecuted. Or something like that. I think it will be important for Jason and Brooke to put up something like that, too, along with very obvious cameras.
A neighbor of ours used to feed stray cats. Word spread and she regularly saw people drive up in front of her house and let cats out. Our neighborhood became over run with cats. She finally stopped feeding them and most moved on. There is a saying, "No good deed goes unpunished."
Thank you for taking care of June Bug. She certainly seems to have been dumped. I hope someone comes forward to offer her a home. Bless your heart for seeing she wasn’t hit by a passing vehicle. 🐾❤️🐾😁🌹

The first day there and Junebug seems to be accepted by all that we saw, and the way Junebug runs around and enjoys herself makes me think she came from a lonely environment and now she is in a very large size friendly family. It makes me wonder how the 3 kittens in the new barn are going to be once they have access to the entire farm. I love the interplay between all the animals including the human ones.

@@jaditelady173mary4You're right that the rescues are overwhelmed. When 2 feral mamas gifted my neighbor with their kittens we didn't know what to do. All my neighbors and I already had our own kitties. We tried the local shelters but everyone was full. We weren't willing to dump them, so aside from 1 kitten we found a home for we kept the rest. That's in addition to our own. We're happy with our new babies. But the cycle will happen all over again if we can't manage to get the mamas spayed very soon. We are poor people with big hearts with more love than money. Hopefully the rescues will be able to help us get the mamas spayed now that they aren't feral anymore. And the 2 little girls who I kept and the little boy neutered who my neighbor kept, too. Kittens from Heaven has been one of the best experiences of my life. For the neighbor too. But goodness it's been hard for everyone involved. That includes the mamas who didn't ask to get pregnant so young.

There are such poor folks in rural parts that get desperate when an animal gets pregnant and can’t afford to raise a litter yet don’t spay or neuter them in the first place.

I said when you found DeeDee that it was someone who knows how big hearts you've got. We had lots of kittens dumped on us in the beginning of our time here and we ended up with ten cats. As we live on a busy road, well it was then not so much now with the bypass, it was mayhem. We put notices on our gates that we had a vicious guard dog, he was a big softie really, and it seemed to have done the trick. My last cat died two years ago at the age of 21 and I said then no more but now I have a stray boy that comes and goes as he pleases knowing there is food always here for him.

My dad always said if WD40 didn’t fix it, you didn’t use enough! This has proven to be true more times than not! There are people not on social media, so I would put up flyers at nearby vets offices, near post offices, grocery stores, etc. Sadly, she may be a dump, but she does look well cared for and loved. I still hope you find her owners.♥
We found a couple of pups running on the road in our community. No one claimed them for days and finally someone did. It turned out. The owners had gone on a vacation and the pups had gotten out anyways, they were returned home. They were happy to see their owners, and the owners were happy to see them. I hope that sweet little pup has a happy out come

The rail the forks are sitting on should be covered in lots and lots of grease. Metal on metal without a lubricant will slowly grind down the rail and the slot in the fork. A large bucket of grease is far cheaper than replacing the rail and or forks Edit. Also when you adjust the forks lift them to a height where you dont have to bend over to move them, your back will thank you for it
Lift up forks then tilt tips to touch ground that will help relieve some pressure to slide with foot. Thats how we do big forks on concrete at least. Hope it helps.

You should probably start taking them to SPCA. As long as you keep them, this will continue. It's sad that they feel they can get a dog or cat and decide they no longer want it and say oh, we can drop it off at Cog Hill, they'll keep it and give it a good home. Lester had to put a halt and advertised and found good homes for some of his dogs, it became overwhelming.
I think you are becoming the new animal rescue center for your town. Once people hear that they can just dump their dogs on your driveway that you will keep them, it's history.
I sat here with my coffe and cried until I hurt, when you showed the puppy. Just yesterday, I lost my 18 year old pup. I was going to take her to the vet in the afternoon to let her pass, but she made it easier on me. She past in her sleep. I thought my tears were cried out yesterday. But nope. How can some one drop a puppy off like that. My little Bandit I rescued 18 years ago from an abusive home she was around 8 months old. I so look forward every day for your videos and lives. You always brighten my day. I have learned alot too.......a male goat with milk....to name one lol. Plus the laughter. Thank you Bobbi
@@deborahcox3011 it does. She was so spunky until about a month ago. The quit eating her dog food and was losing weight so I feed her rice and boiled chicken. Then suddenly she quit eating about 5 days ago. I could not get her to eat anything. I loved on her this morning and told her we had an appoint at 3 and she would not hurt anymore. Went out to water my plants. Came in and she was gone.
You need to make an area on your farm and build a house for all them fur babies you all are collecting. Call it "Paws Sanctuary." You guys are the best to take on these poor creatures and love on them forever...they are lucky to have found you and mama. 🌿💛🌿
Apple Cider Vinegar works well for flies on horses and cows, put in the water it is sweated out because it is taken internally! You can save time since you don’t have to rub it on your animals plus it’s probably cheaper as well.
You have to be able to appreciate the smell of it because after a few days it’ll be coming out of their pores and their breath will bowl you over with vinegar! lol It does work though!
Cows only sweat from their noses. No where else on their body do they sweat. Horses do sweat all over tho. We use Skin so Soft mixed with a little mineral oil, and regular white vinegar for horse spray.
I used to with my dogs they never had a flea. I just put some in there water everyday. Not a whole lot a cap or 2 full in a big water bowl. Even after we went for their walk. I could run a comb through them and they would not have one flea on them. And they were big dogs more like many horses but they never smelled like vinegar. And that's what I bathed them with to a mixture of apple cider vinegar and Dawn dish soap. Put it in a spray bottle with water wet em up, sprayed them with the mixture lather them up and they were good.

People have always dumped unwanted animals at farms. It’s nothing new. Stray & dumped dogs and cats were always showing up on the ranch I grew up on in the 60’s & 70’s.

A surveillance system is a good idea. Not just for people if they are dumping pets out in the farms. But great just for your own protection. You can see who is at your gate from the safety of your home. MaryCarl with all the dogs following was so cute.

Our small town shelter, Hardin County Animal Shelter, has a website that they post lost and found animals daily. They also have a transport operation, HARTT, that takes 30-40 animals from the shelter up to Michigan shelter every week or so. Evidently the Michigan shelters are not full and are able to foster and adopt out animals better than down south. Maybe y'all can check your local shelters. Just a thought. ❤❤❤

Hopefully she was not dumped at your property, it happens very often. Someone left 4 pregnant cats at our ranch a few months back, all of which delivered their babies within 3 days of arrival. It can become problematic when you suddenly are responsible for 4 females & a total of 22 kittens.
I live out in the sticks also and have had a lot of dumps over the years. One thing that you should feel real good about is the fact that those cats delivered four days after coming to your house. Animals will quite often hold off delivering until they feel safe and comfortable. Cats especially. I truly don't know how they do it. But it's the ultimate compliment you could have gotten that after only four days they felt comfortable enough to start dropping them babies. Not only that, they felt comfortable enough to allow you to count them because cats will quite often hide their babies you must be a special kind of person
That happened to me… ended up with 18. For 19 years I never had a rat… with in a month of the last one dying we started having big rats in our outside building.. keep them cats and stay rat free.

Bless your heart. I keep ending up with cats too. I've spent a lot spaying and neutering but I keep "finding"kittens. It isn't their fault. I just feed whatever shows up and try to stay ahead on the spay/neuter cycle. We luckily have a low cost clinic near us. Hugs.

When I adopted my puppy at a rescue shelter I saw that they had a big sign at their gate. It said that dumping animals there was a crime, that cameras were in use, and that violators would be prosecuted. Or something like that. I think it will be important for Jason and Brooke to put up something like that, too, along with very obvious cameras.

A neighbor of ours used to feed stray cats. Word spread and she regularly saw people drive up in front of her house and let cats out. Our neighborhood became over run with cats. She finally stopped feeding them and most moved on. There is a saying, "No good deed goes unpunished."

The first day there and Junebug seems to be accepted by all that we saw, and the way Junebug runs around and enjoys herself makes me think she came from a lonely environment and now she is in a very large size friendly family. It makes me wonder how the 3 kittens in the new barn are going to be once they have access to the entire farm. I love the interplay between all the animals including the human ones.

All my neighbors and I already had our own kitties. We tried the local shelters but everyone was full. We weren't willing to dump them, so aside from 1 kitten we found a home for we kept the rest. That's in addition to our own. We're happy with our new babies. But the cycle will happen all over again if we can't manage to get the mamas spayed very soon. We are poor people with big hearts with more love than money. Hopefully the rescues will be able to help us get the mamas spayed now that they aren't feral anymore. And the 2 little girls who I kept and the little boy neutered who my neighbor kept, too. Kittens from Heaven has been one of the best experiences of my life. For the neighbor too. But goodness it's been hard for everyone involved. That includes the mamas who didn't ask to get pregnant so young.
Oh my heavens it just makes me so upset when dogs are just left off to fend for themselves. There are dog adoption agencies that you can take them to. I hope who just dumped her off has a change of heart. I do know that I respect Brooke so much for rescuing Rocky and Bandit. Grateful that your giving Dee Dee the best of her old age. I said when you found DeeDee that it was someone who knows how big hearts you've got. We had lots of kittens dumped on us in the beginning of our time here and we ended up with ten cats. As we live on a busy road, well it was then not so much now with the bypass, it was mayhem. We put notices on our gates that we had a vicious guard dog, he was a big softie really, and it seemed to have done the trick. My last cat died two years ago at the age of 21 and I said then no more but now I have a stray boy that comes and goes as he pleases knowing there is food always here for him.
If you’re feeding him, he’s your cat. Get him neutered at least.

My dad always said if WD40 didn’t fix it, you didn’t use enough! This has proven to be true more times than not! There are people not on social media, so I would put up flyers at nearby vets offices, near post offices, grocery stores, etc. Sadly, she may be a dump, but she does look well cared for and loved. I still hope you find her owners.♥
My dad said you need 2 things. Wd40 and duct tape.
We found a couple of pups running on the road in our community. No one claimed them for days and finally someone did. It turned out. The owners had gone on a vacation and the pups had gotten out anyways, they were returned home. They were happy to see their owners, and the owners were happy to see them. I hope that sweet little pup has a happy out come

The rail the forks are sitting on should be covered in lots and lots of grease. Metal on metal without a lubricant will slowly grind down the rail and the slot in the fork. A large bucket of grease is far cheaper than replacing the rail and or forks
Edit. Also when you adjust the forks lift them to a height where you dont have to bend over to move them, your back will thank you for it
I've never seen grease put on forks, you just have to rock them when you move them. Also wd40 evaporates get some silicone spray much better.

Lift up forks then tilt tips to touch ground that will help relieve some pressure to slide with foot. Thats how we do big forks on concrete at least. Hope it helps.

Jason, tilt your forks down so that only the top rail is holding the forks, and they will slide from the top. You won't have to push the bottom.😊
The lub you use on your tractor put on groove of top rail will last longer then wd40.
You should probably start taking them to SPCA. As long as you keep them, this will continue. It's sad that they feel they can get a dog or cat and decide they no longer want it and say oh, we can drop it off at Cog Hill, they'll keep it and give it a good home. Lester had to put a halt and advertised and found good homes for some of his dogs, it became overwhelming.
I think you are becoming the new animal rescue center for your town. Once people hear that they can just dump their dogs on your driveway that you will keep them, it's history.
I sat here with my coffe and cried until I hurt, when you showed the puppy. Just yesterday, I lost my 18 year old pup. I was going to take her to the vet in the afternoon to let her pass, but she made it easier on me. She past in her sleep. I thought my tears were cried out yesterday. But nope. How can some one drop a puppy off like that. My little Bandit I rescued 18 years ago from an abusive home she was around 8 months old.

@@deborahcox3011 it does. She was so spunky until about a month ago. The quit eating her dog food and was losing weight so I feed her rice and boiled chicken. Then suddenly she quit eating about 5 days ago. I could not get her to eat anything. I loved on her this morning and told her we had an appoint at 3 and she would not hurt anymore. Went out to water my plants. Came in and she was gone.
You need to make an area on your farm and build a house for all them fur babies you all are collecting. Call it "Paws Sanctuary." You guys are the best to take on these poor creatures and love on them forever...they are lucky to have found you and mama. 🌿💛🌿
Apple Cider Vinegar works well for flies on horses and cows, put in the water it is sweated out because it is taken internally! You can save time since you don’t have to rub it on your animals plus it’s probably cheaper as well.
And the animals are cooler. I cannot imagine how miserable it would be to struggle in 100⁰+ heat wearing any type oil.
You have to be able to appreciate the smell of it because after a few days it’ll be coming out of their pores and their breath will bowl you over with vinegar! lol It does work though!
Cows only sweat from their noses. No where else on their body do they sweat. Horses do sweat all over tho. We use Skin so Soft mixed with a little mineral oil, and regular white vinegar for horse spray.
I used to with my dogs they never had a flea. I just put some in there water everyday. Not a whole lot a cap or 2 full in a big water bowl. Even after we went for their walk. I could run a comb through them and they would not have one flea on them. And they were big dogs more like many horses but they never smelled like vinegar. And that's what I bathed them with to a mixture of apple cider vinegar and Dawn dish soap. Put it in a spray bottle with water wet em up, sprayed them with the mixture lather them up and they were good.
Everyone knows you and Brooke have a heart of gold and a soft spot for animals. Hopefully you find the owner or find it a good home 💕💕💕

People have always dumped unwanted animals at farms. It’s nothing new. Stray & dumped dogs and cats were always showing up on the ranch I grew up on in the 60’s & 70’s.

A surveillance system is a good idea. Not just for people if they are dumping pets out in the farms. But great just for your own protection. You can see who is at your gate from the safety of your home. MaryCarl with all the dogs following was so cute.

Baby June Bug looks precious! Do y'all have a local shelter that maybe has a website? Our small town shelter, Hardin County Animal Shelter, has a website that they post lost and found animals daily. They also have a transport operation, HARTT, that takes 30-40 animals from the shelter up to Michigan shelter every week or so. Evidently the Michigan shelters are not full and are able to foster and adopt out animals better than down south. Maybe y'all can check your local shelters. Just a thought. ❤❤❤

Jason, the forks on the tractor might be easier to move if you raise the tractor front up higher, perhaps mid body/ shoulder height… tilt it forward some, and of course use the WD -40 spray.
