Nice to see you back pal, You made the right decision in not renewing your CX membership mate, I'm in a small van and I found it really hard for the first 3 months of the year. Personally I think it has got alot better over the pass fortnight but I find I'm waiting alot longer for my next job.
Hi Danny, if the companies are contacting you directly with a price is it possible to ask for more? If they're needing the load moved today or tomorrow then maybe 1 or 2 of those 10 per day would accept. They will still be making money on the load with hardly any expenses
Hi, thanks for sharing your experiences and thoughts, I have a question if you can help, which is better in your opinion starting a business 18/26 tones lorry doing deliveries or its better class 1 (tractor unit and a trailer) business?...as well if to choose class 1, which is better to start just with unit doing traction jobs or better to have trailer from the start?...sorry for a such long questions. Thanks and Best wishes.
Good to see you back in action pal. I’m currently apply for my O licence. Can you confirm it’s profitable and worth the agro vs working for a firm? Also how did you go about getting contracts? Thanks in advance mate Charle a
Hi Neptune The truck cost 15,000 and I purchased it from secondhand trucks in the Essex area. Your not supposed to keep the truck at a residential area unless you have some land maybe and providing you don’t get any one protest against it when you apply on your operators licence.
@@dannyboyowneroperator6670 Hi very interesting indeed I had no idea what one would cost, food for thought. Hope to see a few more vids from you about it Cheers Neil
Nice video. If you had to start again would to rent? I'm looking into this whole o licence and thinking about renting 1st and maybe 2nd truck before buying (financing) to replace rentals (or grow) but at the same time well run van can profit £800 (- drive wage) per week
Right the CX is minimum wage if u are working for 70p a mile and doing dead miles you are running at a loss If u get £1 a mile on lwb van u need a return job or the dead miles will make it less that 50p a mile CX is now £1600 they wont refund you when you find out its a low paid job with lots of hours The couriers want to sell jobs for peanuts and a few dickheads work for free and ruin it for good drivers that need a wage to pay bills and rent and food and Big beardy should not convince you lot to part with over 20K As thats what you will need to get started a van 15K insurance 3K CX is 1600 and 2K for fuel as you wait 60 days to get paid 😉 Get a job in burger king it pays better
I get what your saying, the CX was a good tool when I first started out but I get on fine without it now. I never persuade people to buy the CX, I just state the pro’s and cons and let them decide for themselves. It was good for me when I started out but I haven’t used it for agers so I’m not offering an opinion on it currently.
Thanks for info

You will get a better rate using your own trailer, try look for customers who have short payment terms e.g. 14 days as this will keep you rolling

You doing the wagon with work, or just bought an ex Maritime motor?
Right the CX is minimum wage if u are working for 70p a mile and doing dead miles you are running at a loss

CX is now £1600 they wont refund you when you find out its a low paid job with lots of hours
The couriers want to sell jobs for peanuts and a few dickheads work for free and ruin it for good drivers that need a wage to pay bills and rent and food and Big beardy should not convince you lot to part with over 20K
As thats what you will need to get started a van 15K insurance 3K CX is
1600 and 2K for fuel as you wait 60 days to get paid 😉
