I get so emotionally invested In videos like this and appreciate watching others who feel the same way. What sucks is when you’re feeling it and the creator pauses and kinda ruins the experience. I so appreciate your videos. I started with Leonid and friends video and enjoy watching them with you
So great so hear an expert share his emotions about what happens at 05:27, 07:09 and in particular 07:26. Totally share the feeling. Magnificent to see all the talent and UNITY in this video. Tommy's song is of timeless quality.
Wonderful contribution by Tommy Shaw to the next generation! Loved this orchestration on "Fooling Yourself" so much, and of course loved hearing Tommy's voice again too! "Come Sail Away" my favorite Styx tune BTW, but so many excellent ones to choose from.
When I saw the closeup of the choir and how each two kids were holding a mic between them, I thought, could you imagine mixing this? Who knows how many inputs??? It sounded flawless!
Jeff I stumbled into this video a few years ago and had the same reaction you did, it actually choked me up a little. How awesomely talented are these kids, not least of which the violin soloist! I'm not sure how many times I've watched this and/or shared it but it's a lot, probably more than any other music video. Glad it was brought to your attention!
How nice it is to have these young people introduced to a classic. Hopefully to carry on for others to enjoy in the next and next generations to come. Definitely not AI generated.
I saw them live in Mobile Alabama in 1981. They put on a great show. My favorite tunes by them??? Wow that is tough so many great tunes. Crystal Ball & Snowblind come to mind I wore that 8 track out.😂
This was really well done! Nice to see Tommy Shaw working with these young kids! I live between Cleveland and Pittsburgh and saw Styx play in Youngstown Ohio with their symphony and it was a fantastic show! Great reaction as usual!
Wow! I think I saw this same school in concert with all of Styx. However, this has my skin standing up and thrills going through my body as I remember my time in the Army listening to Styx. They helped get me through those years, Interesting story goes with that but won't talk about here. Jeff just like you I'm just so happy to see kids playing our songs! Thanks
Hey, great reaction as usual. Sadly the video cut out before you could see Tommy and everyone give the violinist his 'props'! His smile was the cherry on top! If you have the time....Styx performed with the CYO and to see the kids losing their minds as they played with the full band is so special.
Yeah, I saw this vid awhile back, great stuff and I did enjoy Styx as a teen way back in the day. It struck me that the arrangement was quite good, presumably done at least in part by the orchestra director(s) who knew what they had at hand. Interesting that they pulled off fairly fast-paced keyboard parts with bow instruments. Curious whether they did more than the 1 song, what else. Wish famous musicians would do much more of this; everyone wins.
those kids had no idea whom tommy shaw was, nor had they ever heard of a band called Styx. but they put their hearts and souls into it nonetheless. imagine the practice they put in before ever meeting tommy. true musicians each and all of them.
Jeff, Do you cry at Hallmark movies too? 😆(I do). I just love watching your reactions. When I come across videos like this my first thought now is "Jeff is going to LOVE this". I have a list of 30 or more songs I have collected about 1/3 of which I have given you so far. For some reason TH-cam keeps putting more of these in my feed. I am not complaining.
There’s another concert, older than this one I believe, that is absolutely fantastic. Well worth watching. They play Boat On The River and the kids in the orchestra are pretending they are paddling with oars.
I can't help thinking these kids are all thinking that they are just playing along with some old dude their grandparents used to listen to. And, yes I bought the album when it was first released. I'm not old, you're old!
This performance brings tears if joy and hope to my eyes every time!

I've probably watched this 10 times over the past couple of years. Tommy Shaw giving those kids an incredible memory.
Hell yeah!! Man, I got the chills down my spine watching this. Tommy Shaw has always been a favorite of mine.

Great to see kids with talent have a shot at showing their musical gifts. Props to Tommy.

Love Tommy Shaw. Amazing musicianship. How about some kudos for the chorus. Made me tear up. Thanks for the reaction. Stay safe
you"ll be happy to know there are a bunch of clips from this concert on the tube, they are all great.
Nice to see all those kids playing. An awesome experience

Wow this warms my music teacher heart witnessing such high quality musicianship in young musicians. Extremely well done! Thanks for sharing! ❤
Way to make Cleveland’s proud. Wonderful job kids.

They did. You can find a few of them in the same TH-cam channel where this one is located.
Unbelievably good.
