    You do a great job of picking important insights and explaining what you mean as well. I’m on the 350-450 line and this review was extremely valuable!

    Kris Keefer calls your #5 "Track Toughness". It's an important trait.

      I like it! It’s very true as well. I feel the Honda’s have the worst track “toughness”.

      The Hondas are definitely the hardest to set up. I had one, and from track to track it was very different. My Yamaha is easy to set up, with just a click or two on the suspension.@@moto-x

    Just came across your channel, very informative. Seeing you have spent time on a 300 and now a current 450 which would you choose to moto a couple times a week if you could only have 1 bike. I know you had problems with your 300 but if you could have one with no problems. I am 57 yrs old B rider 5' 6" 165lbs and I currently have a 300 that I moto a couple times a week and I am on the fence about getting a 450, YZ or FC. Thanks for you time and effort putting together these videos.

      Thanks for the kind words. Great question too! If I had to choose the bike that’s the most fun, I’d choose the 300 for the simple fact that it’s a two stroke and over time I find those more fun. If I was trying to be the best racer I could I would get the 450. I think you have to consider what type of riding you mostly do? Do you ride a lot in mud, sand or loamy conditions? The 300s are great bikes and very fun. I think the other part of the equation is what type of rider are you? Do you go to the track with a purpose or do you go simply for fun? Also at your weight I think a 300 will suit you a little more as you’re on the lighter side (wish I could be too lol).

    You sold me on this bike. I agree with the stuff you told about the Honda about the setup etc. And the Honda dealers in my area are terrible. Thanks for this video. :) I subbed.

    Can you make a comparison video to the 350 you came off of? I’m on a 23 KTM 350 with 6500 kit and vortex but I ride hard packed rutted tracks in the Midwest and it still feels harsh to me. I previously had a 2008 Honda 450 so I’m aware of the power and weight but never ridden a YZ and never felt the KYB suspension so I’d like to hear your take directly comparing this 450 to the 350.

      Absolutely! Hopefully I can get it out this week. Stay tuned. Also have the 350 vs yz450, Kx450, and rockstar 450 among others coming. Let me know what else you’d like to see. Thanks for tuning in 👍

    Great video. Im in between a yz250f or yz450f. Im 40 years old 165lbs C rider, and mostly just ride 2 stroke 250s in the tight east coast woods. Getting more into MX and not sure what direction to go. Worried the 450 might be too much to handle but you said you can dial it way back? Im not quite as fast as you. I rode a older 2018 ktm 450 and hated the vibration and how much weight I felt in my hands and arms. Do you feel like it wears you out a good bit? What would you recommend?

    • @moto-x
      @moto-x  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My 21.5 KTM vibrated a lot as well. The Yamaha revs super fast and to me has very little if any vibration. Absolutely you can take this bike down immensely with the tuner. I find with the 450s it’s mellowing out that initial crack of the throttle that’s important. Once you do that the bikes are very friendly. Given how much you can tune the bike with mapping, I’d lean slightly more to the 450 because I think it could be a little more versatile than the 250f. That being said I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the new generation (23-24 yz450 or 24 yz250) Yamahas. My one caveat is if most of your riding is done in the woods I personally would stick to a 2-stroke. If you do both Moto and woods then consider the 4 banger. Hope this helps.

      @@moto-x Have you tried the 23/24 450sxf by chance to see how it compares?

    • @moto-x
      @moto-x  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SurfJdog I have, both the rockstar and factory editions. The yz has a lot less vibration, better suspension and to me the lightest feeling engine in the class. It makes it much less fourstroke like in the corners and makes the bike feel lighter. That being said, my 2nd and 3rd pick bike was the ktm and the rockstar husky in that order.

    Both times I rode the ‘23 yz I got my boot stuck in the plastic. Any insight?

    • @moto-x
      @moto-x  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I noticed I did that one or two times coming off the ktm. It hasn’t happened since. I believe it has to do with having different contact points and it takes a little for you to get use to the new bike. Now it never happens. Give it a little more time and let me know how you make out.
