    This is what a mustang should be. An "affordable" pony car. Todays mustang has become an BMW M4 chaser and a price to match.

      I'm getting a beautiful azure blue 2004 gt deluxe with 68k miles and 4:10 gears tomorrow, it's an auto but it's got a shift kit to. My 03 V6 auto (also in white) still catches people off guard with its 197 hp. it has 280k miles on it and it does not give a single s**t. I would not hesitate to drive it cross country. I recently did a rack and pinions and pump with lines as the old one was leaky, also no more 90s ford PS pseudo supercharger lol. I love it and still drive it like im 16 even tho i am 23.

    • @TheDutchTexan
      @TheDutchTexan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My wife's was a 1999 V6 and I remember driving it back from the Dallas Autoshow a long time ago with my brother-in-law. We got stuck at a light next to a V6 charger. He went for it, so did we. And the 99 just pulled on him. It probably was a 2.7 V6 which was a thing for the Chargers back in the day. SUPER slow.
      I do remember the V6 being a torquey little bugger. It had plenty of grunt even at higher speeds.

    When it wore out , getting rid of it never crossed my mind , these cars are easy to love.
    Fell back into this car hard restoring it and shes looking and driving brand new again with alot more power these days.
    It always leaves you smiling after a drive. Also its a great platform to learn on. Wrenching on this car taught me alot and has made me a better amateur mechanic.

    I bought my 2002 GT when it was new. I like the car despite it not having quick acceleration. I plan on changing that by adding a Vortech V3 supercharger this month. I might even bump up the rear axle gears to 3.5. A lot cheaper than buying a new Mustang model. I like the fact that the car turns heads still. Only 80k miles on my pony.

    Lmao ! I had a 2001 gt ten years ago !i planned on owning it till i died! T-boned a minivan and totaled it! Not at fault by the way! Bought a 2002 automatic v6 and sold it for double what i paid ! I recently got a blown head gasket on my pickup and was in a rush to find a car! Found a midlife crisis mobile! A bright yellow 5 speed mustang gt for $4k cheapest thing i had seen in weeks of looking! Brand new interior! New short throw shifter! New off road H pipe with flow master tips! Couldn't find a better deal so i bought it! Funny thing is when i ran a carfax it came up bullitt! When i got insurance it came up bullitt ! It has definitely been painted and motor swapped! But still a bullitt chassis! Paint not perfect! Interior perfect! Still in shock of the price i paid of $4k and 110k miles! All my coworkers are constantly looking at me like i need help!
