The kabaw valley originally belonged to the nation of Manipur, now in India. Gifted by Nehru to Burma in exchange of Andaman n nicobar island, without the consent of the manipuris. Many manipuris still consider kabaw valley as part of Manipur, though politically under Myanmar. New aggression from Burmese side is shifting of border pillar no. 81 3kms inside Manipur, in kwatha village.

What had happened in the past can not be easily fixed. for example, the language of Nagas (i.e.) Nagamese is very similar to the Assamese language. and for official work and communication, now English is used in these states,,,
where as in Tamu( now in Myanmar) and all other parts of Myanmar, the written and spoken language is totally different....
So, now it would be better for India and Myanmar to try to solve the problems by using the Act East policies to improve the people to people connection by promoting English language as a second language. and doing festivals so that people from NE can interact with people of Myanmar. Such as Hornbill festival can be promoted to Myanmar too. so that tribe from Myanmar can also participate, interact and celebrate.
To connect Nagaland to Tamu, govt. has already made it free for people to travel across borders without any need of any visa/passport. and it is free... people from both Nagaland can enter freely via tamu and people from myanmar can enter nagaland via tamu and trade in the market with no extra charges...
Similarly, we should also discuss and look for
more options to connect with each other easily.
