      Not just workers. Materials, machinery, expertise gained from building. Pakistan is left with a huge bill, puppet status on China, infrastructure. Latter is the only positive but even this may have limited benefit if other powers stop the Belt n Road project from reaching its target

    • @pudanielson1

      This is how developed economies power their economies through aid and things like this, use your own money to stimulate your own economy while giving other nations "stuff"

    • @netiturtle
      @netiturtle 3 ปีที่แล้ว +91

      @@pudanielson1 Aid and loan are different things. Especially Chinese loan. Following example is on the extreme side but it helps to illustrate the issue. China gave Ethiopia a huge loan, making big fanfare about how it helps developing nations. Same year, western countries gave same amount as aid, though UN. Chinas contribution to that aid was flat 0. Aid doesn't leave receiving country as dependent politically, while loans from China stipulate unfavorable terms, like use of Chinese workers and materials, in case of defaulting on loan, handing over infrastructure for up to 100 years, puppet status in UN, leading to comical status where we are now, with World Health Organization being effectively a mouthpiece to China's Communist party and China being member of UN human rights council.
      There are positive effects obviously, plus some countries are desperate for investments and have no other choices, Belt and Road can actually materialize in the future and pay back the loan cost. But I doubt the latter

      @Lawrence Weston so its a win win for both. Gwadar is no use of Pakistan so why not join the silk road. No wonder why pakistan took over half of Kashmir and china helped pakistan. Long term planing smart

    • @TheAbdulaziz786
      @TheAbdulaziz786 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @Lawrence Weston i believe the only reason Pakistan will stick to china instead of US even if they fulfill all three point that you mentioned, is because the US history of not keeping its promises and agreements. After the chinese sanctions on canada and eu counties and there sanctions on china. Pakistan will stay neutral and choose whats best for Pakistan’s economy. China for the first time has put sanctions on western countries to show that its the time now , china is strong and has allies who will backup their position like pakistan, iran and many African countries. A proper strong answer in sanctions is a prove of ( no more bullying ) iran is happy to receive 400 billion. So is Pakistan

In Indonesia alone, the HSR project is in full swing and will be finished much earlier than Japan's project in india that even a singnificant single post for rail wasn't even erected... The Loas-CHINA corridor is in full swing and most of railway, expressways will be opened in 2022. Russia-CHINA pipleline 2 is already underconstruction and Kazakhstan-CHINA gas pipeline is currently expanding. No to mention the projects Africa is still in full swing. Erstwhile Punjab and Bengal province divided into two. Muslim majority East Bengal and West Punjab formed Pakistan along with Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Mr. Mohammad Ali Jinnah, then member of All India Muslim league later founding father of Pakistan had come to believe that the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent should have their own state to avoid the possible marginalised status they may gain in a Hindu-Muslim state. Moreover, India has progressed far better than Pakistan. India has the fastest growing economy in the world, it has the highest number of FDIs, 600 billion dollars in foreign reserves, they're the third largest economy in the world and are improving in all aspects.

    China's Belt and Road initiative has left many financially weak countries trapped in "secret debt". It is claimed that China owes 36.5 billion to these countries. China has invested a total of, 64.3 billion in roads, bridges, ports and hospitals in 173 countries. These countries include many countries in Africa and Central Asia.
    According to experts, 80 per cent of the, 64.3 billion has been lent to the central bank of the country concerned or to a joint venture between China and that country. But the government of many financially weak countries could no longer borrow. As a result, China has taken a different path. They have lent to a coalition of several companies. The government of that country is not directly in that alliance. But in many cases, the government has taken the responsibility of repaying the debt if the alliance of the companies is not able to repay the debt. As a result, the actual debt of those countries to China is not clear to the concerned government in many cases. According to the expert agency, the debt of China in 45 countries is more than 10 percent of their average national product. According to the expert agency, the debt of China in 45 countries is more than 10 percent of their average national product.
    There is strong dissatisfaction among some locals over the huge Chinese investment in provinces like Pakistan's Balochistan. They claimed that they did not benefit from the project. Militant groups have repeatedly targeted the Chinese project in Balochistan.

India infact didn't got into the war and waited for the right time to train fighters inside the Bangladesh territory and to make multiple strategies incase one goes bad. Pakistan didn't fight a winning war. Rather usa supported pakistan by not giving access to gps data to India during many later conflicts between the two parties.

    Why is CPEC failing? It’s because of the Pakistanis themselves, China has invested a lot of its money and wants to get it done, but they’ll never be able to complete it because it should pass through Pakistan’s heartland which is Punjab, Punjab is Pakistan’s farm land, because of the zamindari system, majority of the land in Punjab belongs to Pakistan’s elite, the army and the politicians, all of which hold dual citizenship and businesses abroad and their families live there, so it’s doesn’t matter to them if CPEC fails and they will never let CPEC pass through their land without demanding a royalty which China will never pay, so China now became predatory, let’s not forget that balochistan is not Pakistan’s land so they’ll resist, this was bound to fail from the beginning.

      @Motorsoul ss What exactly did we loose. The western countries with a past, present, and most likely a future, full of exploitation - do a lot of propaganda feigning worries about China being exploitative.

    Really, the white lady in the documentary worries about how how fishermen can cross the highway. Wow, don’t she know there is something called Bridge?

      I doubt Mike is micromanaging every freaking Bloomberg article and video, lol. No doubt he is a China drone, but I’ve read plenty on Bloomberg that points out Chinese flaws. A lot of propaganda too, to be sure.

      I am sure Indians are involved in this propaganda piece, as they are vehemently against CPEC. Not only is the report contradictory, but full of blatant lies. Note that they didn't interview any locals and just had an anonymous recording. The Balochistan provincial government is very sensitive about jobs for locals and have established quotas which it monitors. Subject header says that the projects are stalled but in the end the video admits that the projects, such as the largest airport to be built in Gwadar, are ongoing.
