Ironically it's people like Douglas that's degenerating the core ideals of British society and it is ideals that form reality. These weaker minded people (naturally appealing to the masses) are the grandchildren of when Britain turned it's back on Christian values (the very thing that made Britain great). Everyone hails Churchill now for standing up to fascism but most forgot how many MPs at the time actually supported him (less than 5).
Understand that this situation is incredibly complex and we may never know the whole truth or what really went through the mind of the person who pulled the trigger. However his philosophical argument that it was ok to execute this criminal without trial is basically saying "it's ok to execute every single murderer yourself without trial if you're sure they actually did it and you're wealthy enough to get away with it" Justice, rule of law and any sense of forgiveness straight out the window.
