It’s great in my opinion. Clerks is also great in my opinion. I’ve never seen the entirety of The Foot Fist Way and as such I can’t complete the trilogy, but Rex Kwon Do has probably seen it.

I come from a small town in the middle of nowhere in Texas. I was a junior in highschool when this came out and me and my best friend loved Napoleon. We were the only ones in school who did at the time. This was basically our lives lol awesome days.
I grew up not far from where this movie was filmed and set. Absolute perfection - it so beautifully captures the early-00’s with the weird 70’s/80’s holdover thing we had going on, brings back some awesome memories. Rural Idaho, folks.

For me, the best part of the movie is watching with commentary and realizing that nearly every scene is based on a true story from the director’s life, but when he was in middle school. Most of the humor is seeing high school juniors acting in 6th grade mentality. 😂

I still remember Napoleon Dynamite in theaters with my mom. We had no idea what we were walking into, it was just a movie to watch. We left the theater flabbergasted lol half hating it and half loving it.
I’ve seen this movie a hundred times, and to see these scenes inverted amazes me in that the actors are really just warm bodies, but the directors and editors make the magic.
Yeah that's sort of an odd takeaway considering how we can literally see the actors putting their own spin on the scenes in real time. The direction they're getting is important, but pretty vague.
