Great video, I learned that MER is not charged to your gains, but to the entire NAV. I did an example with an Initial Investment of: $10,000 Annual Return Rate (before expenses): 6%, Management Expense Ratio (MER): 2%, and Time Period: 1 year. With 0% MER you'll end up with $10600. With a 2% MER you be left with $10400 after the MER is applied to the 10000. You'd lose $200 of your $600 of gains. It's actually even more considering the growth of the NAV over the course of the year. MER is damn robbery. I will be getting into a new fund because of this video. My current fund returns 7% on average with a 2% MER. Thanks for the video bro.
