I appreciate that the chef understands a simple sandwich is what tastes good. Half the time when they do these videos the chef does some crazy recipe that takes more work, but doesn't taste that much better.
One time I was so high, I made a sandwich but forgot to take the plastic off the cheese slice, the worst part was that I didn’t realize till I ate half of it 🥪🥪🥪
I like the concept of the Sink the sub, but even when you're going for a kitchen sink approach, you have to worry about balance - like the ratio of bread : meat : sauce, or putting too much of a strong flavor in (like pickles).
Sandwiches are subjective though. Everyone likes them their way. A professional chef might be able to make more sandwiches, but that doesn't mean they can make your sandwich. I like my sandwich really simple with just some veggies, turkey(or no turkey, cheese, and oil and vinegar. THick pasty sauce is just gross to me.
KamiltheCamel That sounds really good. Thank you, you've inspired me to go back to basics with the condiments and I'm looking forward to my next sandwich :)
Don't forget to sprinkle some salt and pepper if you like pepper. The veggies don't have flavor without salt. Of course if you like them blender than you do you.
Ahhh, the world of sandwiches. So many fantastic ones. A favorite one to make is - Warmed pretzel bun Turkey Baby spinach Thin layer of Thai peanut sauce on the bottom, slightly more on the top(helps keep the spinach in place too lol)
Here's how I would've done a sandwich with those ingredients Approach 1 1. let turkey rest in a mixture of the juices from the pickle and the pickled jalapeno 2. Mix spread from mayo, mustard, and pickle juice(no need for the vinegar) 3: Toast the inside of the bread by putting butter on the inside and leaving panini press open 4: spread mayo-mustard mix on the inside of the bread 5: Sandwich Layering time! slice two thin slices of pepper jack cheese and place on the bottom of the bread 6: Next, add some jalapenos above the cheese and top with some of the "marinating" turkey. 7: Add two thin slices of provolone and top with the last layer of "marinating" turkey. 8: Add pickles over turkey, and cover with two more slices of pepper jack cheese 9: Panini the sandwich until the top of both sides is crispy with a golden brown hue 10: cut sandwich at a fun angle and serve
Mayo on the outside, mustard on the inside of each slice of bread. Then Provolone and turkey on one side, and Pepper Jack, tomato, & avocado on the other side. Panini press until the outside is golden and the cheese is melted. If I were a Sriracha fan, I'd find the right place to put that, too (maybe in place of mustard on the veggie side).
This recipe created after pausing the video to actually LOOK at the choices presented, but before watching ANY of the actual preparation. NOT a professional chef.
I have a question for any Americans. Why is it no matter what video you watch when it comes the cheese the Americans pretty much have only these options?? Where are great cheeses like Brie, Camenbert, Roquefort etc...?? Is there some kind of law that prohibits the delicious cheeses?
It's not that we don't like those cheeses, they're just not readily available and when you do find them, they're ten times more expensive. Believe it or not, most of us aren't rich like people tell you.
It’s mostly cause really good cheeses r considered super expensive, even though they aren’t really. Also, it seems like a lot of Americans (or maybe just the ppl I know??) are really picky - I also know that I have weird food tastes cause I grew up eating either bland food from Costco or pickled fish & cheeses my Swedish relatives sent me so living on my own w a lil extra income let’s me explore a shitload of food I’ve never experienced (Korean grilled chicken feet, spiced lamb, different Indian foods, Cajun food, smoking meats & fermenting things)
Buzzfeed please produce better videos and don’t just throw things together. You can tell a good video from a bad one. Eugene is a good producer. His vids are well thought out and put together. People can tell.
Try my sandwhich combo that everyone I know hates: Black bean burger, pickles, cream cheese, corned beef, peanut butter, tomato between two pieces of toasted bread. It sounds gross but it’s amazing.
I bet I can make a better sandwich, I mix as much stuff as I can, then add extra cheese, then heat it, so the cheese will melt, Damn, I think I'll go make one.
I believe that, when presented with a choice, one simply MUST melt the cheese and toast the bread (at least slightly, unless it's literally just been baked and is fresh af)
“Butter on the breads...and panini that sh*t” THIS GUY IS TALKING MY LANGUAGE! HES GONNA WIN
Dude i see you in the top comments of like every video
Ishan Ali I was expecting to see ur comment 😂
Alejandro Andretti what's wrong with u?
Ton of likes, very little comments. Probably a like bot being used.
Asura Sushi not everyone comments

you should do it but when you dont know who is proffesional and who is not
Thomas Endresen Agree!!!
In this case, it was obvious which sandwich was which lol
I know right
I mean you’d find out really fast
you can see how nervous the professional chef was when they were talking about the amateur one
This was the most unnecessary amount of drama in a buzzfeed video ever 😂😂
I actually thought the chef woulda gone all out
waqy009 simplicity is key really. Simple flavors that are good are better than a lot of complex flavors that don't taste good.
The judges should have been Andrew and Steven.
Mark Zingerburger and Adam
What a cliché. One pick the best one and someone else picks the other one and it's up to one person to decide who won
Fatih 12304 Yep, all fake
I like your username
I like it when they make enough portions for buzzfeed employees to taste then choose a winner.
That was hilarious! You guys should make this a series!
Infinite Athletics why are you everywhere!!!?
it is
It is a series.
Kenneth Ho what's wrong with being everywhere
Infinite Athletics NO
YB + Keith + Food = A delicious time.
YES!
yes....and the sound when they eat
Chivas Aurora I
One time I was so high, I made a sandwich but forgot to take the plastic off the cheese slice, the worst part was that I didn’t realize till I ate half of it 🥪🥪🥪
Brooke Wagner that is probably he best story I have ever heard
10\10 wouldn’t recommend
😂
Plastic poop
Plastic shits are the worst 💩
This guy is like “I’m not gonna win, might as well make it horrible for the judges”
I think I would have liked the Sink Sandwich!!
Who else?
+Sauce Stache shut up
I like the concept of the Sink the sub, but even when you're going for a kitchen sink approach, you have to worry about balance - like the ratio of bread : meat : sauce, or putting too much of a strong flavor in (like pickles).
I would like one right now.
Agit Suvan shut up
When you take a bite and bring out everything of the sandwich that guy feels me, RESPECT.
Me: I can't make a sandwich.
*grabs cheese and 2 slices of bread*
Tosti here I come!
It counts!
XplodingInsect yusss

The judges don’t have the qualifications to judge food. Where’s the cool talented chef Japanese lady? I guess 2 out of 3 wins.
Kate Lama Brie got too much exposure already. Lol
"IT'S RAW, YOU DONKEY!!"
just put a cheese slice on a bread
Shooter cASh Gordon Ramsay would be very disappointed
Shooter cASh | It would be an _idiot sandwich_ then 😂
Incredibly boring. Enjoy your boring life.
Barbara Danley I will
Keith is only there to eat
Ahhh, the world of sandwiches. So many fantastic ones.
A favorite one to make is -
Warmed pretzel bun
Turkey
Baby spinach

Jordan's really funny! I love watching him in these videos!
"IT'S RAW, YOU DONKEY!!"
Well.. finally i found this comment...
"WHERE IS THE LAMB SAUCE?"
jjpyae | WHAT ARE YOU?!
_AN IDIOT SANDWICH!_
Here's how I would've done a sandwich with those ingredients

Buzzfeed make more of these cooking showdowns please

Obviously the professional won
I have a question for any Americans. Why is it no matter what video you watch when it comes the cheese the Americans pretty much have only these options?? Where are great cheeses like Brie, Camenbert, Roquefort etc...?? Is there some kind of law that prohibits the delicious cheeses?
William Lingfield
we actually have really good cheese in america
usually basic cheeses are used for cooking videos, though
It's not that we don't like those cheeses, they're just not readily available and when you do find them, they're ten times more expensive. Believe it or not, most of us aren't rich like people tell you.
I'm being facetious
Of course he's serious. America sucks. Mentally ill cops killing people for no reason. Food overloaded with fat and sugar and salt.
Like a 5 minute cooking show. It was so dramatic.
Honestly, I loved it. LOL
The “ judges” sound so professional
I love the amateur chef vs professional chef videos :)
sean Me too! I just found Buzzfeed!
please make more of these types of videos. I love all of these cook off videos!
This was really inspirational. I teared up a little.
I'm gonna stick to burnt stale white bread
UnPhayzable STOP BEING EVERYWHERE
UnPhayzable So what you’re saying is....you can’t afford an actual loaf of bread, yet you can afford a device and comment on nearly every video.....
Tasha Lawrence he didn't say that lmao, he means that he can't cook so he sticks to that smh
I love food network so I knew I would love this lol😂❤️
I love this series.....!!!!(like the mom vs chef ones)
Keep these coming love them
that sink sandwhich is made of nightmares
"Sup, I'm Jordon. I'm a big fan of Sandwiches" 😂😂😂
Buzzfeed please produce better videos and don’t just throw things together. You can tell a good video from a bad one. Eugene is a good producer. His vids are well thought out and put together. People can tell.
How can you not like sandwiches wtf
Bella!InTheTrees I know, right?!
Bella!InTheTrees I don't...
I don’t like them really
I don't like them, it's like a salad that you slapped bread on....
*A simple Ham and Cheese with Doritos*
I love how he called it the happy turkey sandwich and they put sad music!
taste is paramount, but presentation is also kinda important
Pls make this a series
Lol, I love YB! She never passes up a food video!
I worked at subway for about 6 Monats so I’m a professional sandwich artist
Mic drop
I'm a Jimmy John's sandwich artist for 1 yr... fight me bruh, with your six inches.
The redhead looks way better with long hair!
I'm watching this an exact year after this was uploaded
The tie-breaking criterion used was whether it was commercially saleable, and that was pulled out of nowhere on them.
So the majority of the world's population are amateur chefs.
This should be done blindfolded
..can you make a series of sandwich challenge videos? I'd be really into that.
This legit felt like I was watching a real cooking competition show
I love how they made you think that mess of a sandwich would win.
Why would they choose a judge that doesn’t even like sandwiches??
Variety of opinions.
Most intense Master Chef ever
i love this so much!! never laughed sohard with a video!!
pls make a series of thisss
the professional cook looks like a stay at home dad
YB's voice is amazing... 😍
Social Dynamic Hacks you just make me wanns make one. Also thats wsht i would have done so much chese then heat it up
cheese makes everything better
I believe that, when presented with a choice, one simply MUST melt the cheese and toast the bread (at least slightly, unless it's literally just been baked and is fresh af)
The competitors need a chill pill, they were way too serious lmao
Guys an amateur cook is not someone who never cooked before, amateur by definition is someone following a hobby without getting payed for it
Do more videos like this!!
YB is so fkn beautiful 😭
I was eating a sandwich while clicking random buzzfeed vids
Now I want a sandwich.
"You could never sell this..."
Good spirited competitions are great. Both of them were such good sports!
Here in England a sandwich is just a piece of processed ham between
Two pieces of white bread
Is buzzfeed creating mini reality shows
This reminds me of mom vs chef please do more mom vs chef
How is that not enough turkey those were soo many slices 😂😂
Love this type of video make more
Omg it's the real life bobs burgers!
I live for that mustache.. I wonder if he has a comb for it 🤔
Oh Man!! We were pulling for Jordan! The 'Pro' guy was such a....
This is a REAL SANDWICH
I would have chosen the Sink sandwich 😂😂 The bigger the better ❤
"i'll be the fourth to admit it.." lmao me when i'm wrong
Make more of these vid there lit🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!!!!!!
If either of them was high while the other wasn’t, it would be completely game over.
Am I the only one who found it pretty funny that a professional chef makes a sandwich for people who have no clue about food?
My favorite hobby, eating! 😋👌
It’s hilarious hearing them talking like they know what they mean
"Hi im marty nassif and ive been a professional chef for the past 5 years"
"Whats up im jordan, a big fan of sandwiches"
Of course Keith is a judge 😂😂😂
WYNOLLO TV hshshassshesnseenss m8 u thoughylt mlolil0
Nael Charti um???
Lol m8 I joke
Nael Charti 😂 okay
I had to pause the video make myself a sandwich just to watch the rest of the video
you have to get at least 1 professional judge...
that table is at such an awkward height for these guys
thought u're gonna blind test it. it will gives a better judgement i think
MORE OF THESE
Jade, You should have added some sauce at the side in case she’s wanted to dip it on.
2:19 "it looks good, it's really tasty".... Did Buzzfeed make this song?
