You are a rockstar. Thank you. You saved my marriage. Or at least my good relations with neighbors, who were probably tired of hearing us swear at the car seats.

I also come back to this video over and over. I almost feel like the videographer is a friend and when I hear his voice think “help is on the way”.
Thank you for saving my sanity and allowing me to use the van as a camping van !!!

Thank you for posting this video.
Just a summary of the video.
    0. Push the front seats forward.
    1. Slide the seat backward that you are about to remove.
    2. Remove the head rest.
    3. Fold seat forward.
    4. Towards bottom there is a black rod with strap. Make sure to pass this strap under the middle rod and into the loop that is in the center of the middle rod.
    5. Now pull that strap, don't let it go till step 7. Else the seat will lock.
    6. Lower the seat back, almost 10-15 degrees and now pull towards back with both hands and don't let go the strap.
    7. Seat should be out.
    Good luck.

Hi! I've used your video three times on my trip to Florida to remove the seats! I was afraid it was gone but here you are! I am so grateful! I have wrested with these seats cursing all the way through. I pack up my stuff and my cats. Don't ever die! This country needs you! God Bless you!

I certainly appreciate your explanation and demonstrations. Everything that you mentioned with the cracked plastic floor receptacle for seats, to cursing & frustations I went through it all! Then I thought that there must be some kind sole who has posted the solution on TH-cam, you are that kind soul. Bless you for your efforts, you are a good man.👍

Thanks so much, U did it so clearly and precisely. I got 2006 Sienna yesterday and I can say that without this clip I don't think I'd be able to remove it at all! I had to watch and then paused and went back to do it and then paused again few times to get the hang of it. Yes U r Rock!

I've had my Sienna for 15 years and have always had trouble with the seats, but always managed to get them back in by repeating the magic words beginning with f and s. I had the seats out last weekend and somehow I got only one front corner of the seat latched. Try as I might I could not get the seat latched and I couldn't remove it. I was on the verge of going to the dealer when I tried looking on TH-cam and found your video. You are absolutely right. The key is removing the effing headrest. Once I did that, the rest was easy. Thanks very much for your video!

So you cursed profusely and it didn't help? Damn! LOL. I can't tell you how grateful I am for this video. I had exactly the same problem and I even got my mechanic to look at it and he was baffled too. Once I took the headrest off, the foot slipped right into the opening like it was supposed to. THANK YOU!!

  • @brianwells990
    @brianwells990 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

This was awesome. Thanks! Here's an additional tip for those folks out there (trying to put the seats back in) who screwed up first and are now watching this video second. (I'm not referring here to myself, you understand... this happened to "a friend".) You may have locked the seat into the back slots first. And then discovered that (a) the front section won't lock in and (b) ooooh, crap, how do I get the back of this seat free again??? It's stuck! Take hope. There are two red "knobbies" near where the back part of the seat locks in. They slide forward easily. If you slide them both forward, that releases the back locking mechanision and you can then pull the seat *backward* out of the back slots. Then watch this video and start over.

O.M.G. 🙏🙏🙏🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️ I would have NEVER figured this out ! No manual. Little drawings on seat 💺 only hint at all the steps and important details. 🙏🙏👍👍 Video a bit long but in the end, WELL WORTH THE 5 minutes. I suggest watching it all the way through, then watching it on your phone in the car as you do it. Note that sometimes seat 💺 still fusses. Mine wouldn’t tilt until the 6th time doing the exact same steps 🤷‍♂️

I have a 2007 AWD Sienna LE. I hate to tell all of you, but if you follow the instructions in the owner's manual it's really easy. It's on page 78 and it's called "REMOVING SECOND SEATS". Here are the instructions: 1) Lower the head restraint to the lowest position. Hold the center of the lever and pull it up. Then slide the seat to the rear-most lock position. 2) 7-passenger models only: Pull the armrests up. 3) Fold down the seatback while pulling the seatback angle adjusting lever or strap and swing up the seat. 4) Pull and hold the front leg release strap and fold down the seat. Then the front leg locks will disengage and you can remove the seat. That's it. I think the unintuitive step that people are missing is in step 4: "fold down the seat".

I'm glad it helps. The instruction on the back of the seat with the images on it is absolutely useless. Read that and it's gonna just make you even more confused and frustrated because you think you follow the instruction correctly and after half an hour you still can't remove the seat!
