As a Fellow haunter that tackled this last year, i feel your complete pain. We love our Axeworrhy ghost, but getting it to right, not slip off, not get caught on a yree or decorations... what a pain. My hats off to finding your solution

Awesome. Glad to hear it’s not just me who has struggled. To me it was the weight of the ghost was the trick. That kept messing me up. Once I went lighter, he finally could fly!!! 👻👻

It's a pain. That's for sure! Just try different things it eventually will work out. Only two pulleys is the key

Yes painful! I actually got a second satellite unit working for this year’s ghost (2023). So they now fly in a big triangle pattern. I also added a few ghosts so now have 5 little ghost flying around! It was MUCH easier this year after I got over learning curve last year.

How was the wiring accomplished since the motor is 12v?

Way to stay with it til you got it working! Even if you buy a ready-made kit, there can be a lot of frustration in figuring out all the variables. Kudos!

Thank you! Yes momma didn’t raise no quitter! 😀. I saw the ones out on the FrightProps website but just didn’t want to spend all that $$$. In the end, I probably spent a lot more than that in time, but it was fun.

Yes I know they won’t be interested in this stuff forever so it’s nice that they are at the age now where these things are still fun to them! 😎. I am working on some other Halloween animatronics videos for this year and my one daughter told me not to work on anything without her being there. 😀

Looking forward to any new mods on this as I’m going to try mine. Was the motor good enough? I’ve seen everything used from a wiper motor to a 200rpm worm gear motor 😮

The DC motor I used worked well. I’ve seen others that spin faster than this one but I kind of like the slower moving ghost. Here is a link to the one I bought from a science shop here around Chicago suburbs where I live::: sciplus.com/12-24vdc-gear-motor-w-pulley/

I am planning my haunt now, I really want to make one of these but I've said that every year for the last like, 3 years so we'll see. Put more effort into all my other decorations. Your daughter's reaction to the test setup made me laugh, "looks like a lot of work and it's probably gonna not work" LOL. These things do seem finicky.

I wish you luck!!! It’s a journey to get it to work. I liked starting small and working my way up to a bigger setup. This year I am going to do a triangle or a rectangle flight path so am sure I’ll struggle again. May the flying ghost gods be with you on yours!!!

Good idea. Yes I see those mentioned by others who have made these ghosts. I’ll check it out! Thank you!!!
