  • In this video I'll be experimenting with mini twists using a different technique than usual on my natural hair. I was inspired by @Freshhairbyro over on Instagram, who is a awesome Natural Hair Specialist & Curl Enthusiast. I love them because the remind me of spring twists. Thanks for watching!

    I did this and really loved the results. I usually twist. Right after conditioning & use spray of water & products and my hair shrinks by the next day & I untwist. But I’ve wanted to keep the twists in & this method helped keep length & turned out much better than expected. I still May untwist soon because of curiosity but it looks good this way ❤

    They look nice, juicy and healthy. This is how I wear my hair majority of the time. I blow it out, use shea butter, then after a week or so I put a curling cream on my ends. To sleep I just pull it back in a ponytail.

    I have been searching for a video on how to do this for months. I wore elongated twists once that had a lot of swing but didn't note what I did to achieve the style. Thanks for posting!!!

      I feel this! I will be induced within the next 2/3 weeks and I need something simple! My mom used to do mini/micro twists on my long, thick hair as a kid (on blown out hair) and it always kept my hair elongated and healthy, so I'm going back to the older, fail-proof ways lol

      same, it keeps the roots fresh & flat! Just ensure to properly oil fingers or moisturize during the take down process bc the braid could cause knots. 🔑

    How were you doing the twists wrong beforehand and how is this different to usual?
    I kept skipping to get to the part where I'd get that info so sorry if I missed it but I'm confused.
    My twists usually open up and go loose too soon so I wasn't sure if this method would do better but it just looks like normal twists?

    • @AlysaNicole_
      @AlysaNicole_  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually I use cream which gives it a completely different look than this. Blow dried & dry gives it a more fluffier finish.

    • @AlysaNicole_
      @AlysaNicole_  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your twists might do better with staying if they are fluffier. I’m not 100% sure, hope this technique helps

    • @qwandary
      @qwandary ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlysaNicole_ Ah ok, my curls kinda look like yours when wet but my roots are too smooth so my twists and braids come out too quick even when they're put in tight (also I don't want to get hair loss so I'm more willing to have loose roots than tugged out ones lmao).
      I recently tried really loose braids that made my hair just look like natural curls clumping to themselves, which I wasn't expecting to work. So I'm gonna try that when it's next wet and see if it holds better or worse.
      Kinda hard to know what to do as my hair has 75% shrinkage but is very moisture hungry but not dry, lol just greedy hair trying to do everything at once I guess. Never know how it'll respond. lol

    How often do you do redo this style and overtime do you think the blow drying would cause heat damage. Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤

    • @AlysaNicole_
      @AlysaNicole_  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! I probably do it 4 times out of the year, I love it around the summer and spring months. and as long as you aren't using heat too often, I think you'd be fine.
