  • With the newly announced Fujifilm GFX 50s II, Amy and Shawn take to England's Peak District to showcase just what this new medium format camera is capable of.
    The Fujifilm GFX 50s II offers a medium format 51.4MP sensor. With this, you can capture high-end imagery thanks to the amazing detail at a higher resolution than full frame. The body itself weighs around 900g and is also great for portability! Being able to carry this camera around for day-to-day shooting makes it an excellent choice for a Pro on the go!

    Such a brilliant review and walk through of the camera, I have been looking at getting this camera next as it makes the best sense for me. I am currently selling my entire Hasselblad setup due to physical problems where my condition will only get worse as time goes on, so Im forced to sell my heavy setup I love to use. This camera makes the most sense for me, it is lightweight, fantastic image quality, great lens line up, something that will last me for 10+ years easily, weather sealed and so much more.
    I like how this video is different to everyone else as Amy is wonderful in talking about the camera and how she's using it. I'm only 5:18 in and I'm really enjoying this, also a bit inspirational as well it is lovely seeing these places.
    Great job Amy and Shawn plus WEX team!

    I like black and white photography and I'm sure the larger sensor should be able to capture a greater range from black to white. It's the quality of the transition from the blackest black to the whitest white that remains a challenge to 35mm format.

    This camera is down to $2000 used *with the brilliant 35-70* It’s cheaper than Sony non-R systems. Absolutely no brainer. Medium format has a look, and those that don’t think so… have 👏 never 👏 shot 👏 one 👏
    I take pics of my kid (at the playground), I do lots of urban decay photography. I take shots at birthday parties. I wouldn’t shoot F1 racing or birds in flight with it, but slower stuff - just fine.

    • @WexPhotoVideo

      Hey Thomas, from what I can see we don't have Panorama mode, but according to the specs Fujifilm have provided the shutter can be open for 60minutes in bulb mode (which I have to say, I didn't try!)

    • @WexPhotoVideo

    It looks like a great camera Amy, and I have a hankering to have a medium format for landscape photography, but having purchased 2 new Nikons in the last 8 months, it will have to wait. My question to you though is, would you buy one to replace any of your existing kit? If yes, why?
    Great video review by the way!

    • @WexPhotoVideo
      @WexPhotoVideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Stephen! Glad you liked the video! To answer your question, no, I wouldn't. I love using this and the image quality is amazing, but for the types of photography I do, 3fps isn't enough. Also, as a hybrid shooter, I'd need a better video spec for my personal work.
      Amy

    • @stephenrogers1480
      @stephenrogers1480 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WexPhotoVideo Thanks Amy. 3fps wouldn't work for me either for the wildlife that I do, but I'm sure it would be great for landscape work. So, I think I will stick with my 2 fantastic Z series cameras. But, if I ever win the lottery,......

    These days only Fujifilm, I think now all have begun to prefer Fujifilm.
    I have seen almost all the Fujifilm commentaries. Listening to those commentaries i have come to the conclusion that this camera is for the professionals. For a beginner like me myself, it will be difficult to execute photos, because even with the beginner dslr i have not gathered all the knowledge of clicking photos.
    I think a will admit what i have said.

    I'm a Canon user and am thinking of (listing after more like) an R5 but when you see the quality / price ratio of this beauty it makes you think. The lenses aren't that much more (nor any bigger) either. For anyone not bothered about speed / sports photography this would make a better choice.

      @WexPhotoVideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Alan. I can totally understand your predicament there. I would say there are some differences in what is on offer in terms of the feature set, and the lenses for the Canon can be more cost efficient. But there is no getting away from that huge sensor. Sounds like you need to pop to one of our stores and try these two out!

    I'm baffled that this people think this is a brilliant review. There are so many contradictions, I don't know where to begin. Really dark clouds, then shooting "really shallow" with a 110mm lens at half a mile away? Then the pixel stuff....as a semiconductopr engineer (and photographer) I can't understand why camera reviewers who don't understand the technology insist on talking about the technology as if they're experts. i.e. at 10m.45s she talks about pixel size - when it's not pixel size - it's sensel size. (Sensors don't have pixels). Then she says "don't worry about the μm - it doesn't matter", then goes on to talk about the μm differences between a 50 and 100 size sensor - so it does matter. Then talks about the pixels being a "massive increase in size"...it's not a massive increase in size as sensor sties are scaled down to fit the same area of silicon - therefore it's a decrease in size and it's not massive. Then she talks about signal to noise ratio.... I gave up at that point.
