I am a wood guy. If you look at the bottom of the grip you will notice a perfect " book matched" grain. Beautiful, beautiful grips.....done the right way!!
I put Deer Hollow Grips on my new Python too. They look magnificent. I'm so glad I spent the extra and got them. Better than the thin plywood grips that come from the factory.
I have the 85' series on my 2022 SS Python, from Deer Hollow. The workmanship and fitment is off the charts. I love the feel of the original sized grips. Put a Wilson Combat gold bead front sight and WC rear sight on too. My Python is my gorgeous fun gun. Puts a smile on my face, every time I go out to shoot.
I never regret spending more than I planned when I find an exceptional product. Your photos and video convinced me that Deer Hollow grips are a must-have for my new, blued Python.
I also got a pair of Deer Hollow late 3rd gen repro grips on my 2020 Python. Man! They are gorgeous. The only gripe I have is that the tinted clear coat they are using on the wood is a bit too dark, so the grain is not as nicely visible as yours. Perhaps I should keep exposing the grips to the sun light, so eventually they will look a bit brighter in color like true vintage wood grips....
Thanks I’ve been on fence on but from him, looked like best place to buy clone grips, know knowing how they fit I’ll definitely be getting some for my SS 5” python
I put Deer Hollow Gen. 2 ones on my new blued Python. Beautiful. Work way better with HKS and Safariland Comp II speed loaders vs. the factory ones too. I don't know how he does it- the precision is amazing. They are often sold out but keep checking. I'd been watching for weeks then 1 set was in stock all of a sudden and I grabbed them.
Those look incredible. I'm probably going to get a pair for my 2021 Anaconda. I just put a pair of Altamont Python grips on it which looks better than the factory rubber Mono grip. I wish I hadn't wasted my money on them, but I didn't know about Deer Hollow or the availability of their perfect reproduction grips until last week.
Crazy expensive for repros done on CNC, but nice none the less. Pro tip, use a peice of Scotch cellophane tape over your hollow ground driver bit, you're welcome.
Good Lord. Have wanted a new Python since the 80's and now there telling me ya need better grips for 300 bucks. I think my uncle could have got me a wholesale Python for a little less than 400.
If you really want to break it down, $1600 for a new blued Python + $225 for Deer Hollow grips + $90 for new Elliason sights means you'll be spending $1915 for a Python that's as close as you can come to the originals. Expensive? Yes. But the other option is to pay $2600-$3000 for an original Python that may or may not be in new condition. And there won't be a warranty with it, plus if it breaks or goes out of time you're stuck because hardly anybody can work on them anymore.
