Great to see Icarryone I'm sure you will get lots of use out that 29 I'll stick to my old school ones that's just me. Good to see they brought the classic tool kit back. Merry Christmas Brother 🇺🇸🎄🇺🇸🎄
Nice Smith! I've been thinking on picking up one of the new ones. Good to see Icarryone join you on this one. Merry Christmas and a wonderful new year to everyone!
Hey J.W , always good to see your radio show every week & good to see I Carry One today. Congrat's on the Model 29-10 but still don't like the H hole. Very surprised that you got the cleaning kit & presentation wood case, Wow! Haven't seen that personally in yrs.. & they should keep that up like in the past. Merry Christmas sir..🎄🎄🎄
Nice. Times change. Take it to the range and enjoy it so you don't beat up the older ones. Now, if they would make the 25 and 57 with a 4". Also bring back the 58-1.
I’ve got a Model 29-10, I love the revolver, it’s my favorite in my whole collection, but man I wish it had better grips, and I can’t find any replacements for a decent price anywhere.
Forget those keyholes and the sleeved barrels and the top strap being drilled all the way thru so it can burn ur cylinder, call S&W they will send u a longer screw for the top strap so it doesn’t burn the bluing on your cylinder , also hate the thin plywood grips , original walnut grips are Awsome and to me the finish looks like paint instead of bluing !
I've heard of and seen erosion of the topstrap from long term firing of full power ammo burning outward in the barrel and cylinder gap. Please explain how a screw hole for rear sight mounting can burn the cylinder. I don't know where else the topstrap might be drilled. I could see some use for a small tungsten insert above the gap to stop erosion. My 29 from the mid '70s fits my hand quite well, but the thumb recess on the left isn't deep enough to clear speed loaders without turning the cylinder during reloading. That's why they removed the wood from the left grip panel thumb recess. I've not had the "pleasure" of dealing with any Hillary hole, but from what I've seen in magazines it looks like they're sized to work with handcuffs keys and possibly use a similar degree of rotation to lock and unlock. S&W has produced high quality handcuffs for decades. The keys are standardized. BTW, many firearms have laminated stocks that are very high quality and moisture resistant. Not quite plywood, but similar process.
@@JW...-oj5iwnot the screw hole for the rear sight , I’m talking about the the screw holes for the top strap , open cylinder up and look up , they drilled all the way through , it will create a vortex and burn ur cylinder, it don’t matter on a stainless steel gun but on a blued it will ruin the finish , before that happens get a hold of S&W and they will send u out a screw that sits flush with the bottom of the top strap , all u need is the one screw closest to the front of the cylinder, ur 29-2 is not drilled all the way through
If I'm seeing this, I must still be alive too. So Merry S&W Christmas. 🎄 And a Happy 1911A1
Merry Christmas to you both.
Good to see the collaboration.
Nice 29 as well. The wood box is a classy touch.
Best Wishes from Montana! M.H.
