Justin you’re just the loveliest person. Regardless of the trajectory of my day I can count on a video from you for a boost. Thank you for the awesome content my friend. And John 5 is one of my top 5 live guitarists I’ve ever seen, no pun intended.
Goooood evening buddy!!!! It's just 2 days left to Milan gig! I am so excited!!!! A unique moment to "live till I die and laugh till I cry"!!! See you on tuesday mate!!!🤘🤘🤘
John 5 is a phenomenal instrumentalist. He has been far too long in the shadows, and it is fitting that the world of musicians and fans who appreciate talent are finally acknowledging him. I watched him perform last night and he was phenomenal. I’ve invested a significant amount of money in a ghost telecaster, which has yet to arrive in Australia, but word is those pick ups are hot as shit
I was going to say. I saw him with Manson in Australia back in 2004. Had no idea who he was but you could just tell the stuff he was playing was about as challenging as picking his nose. I quickly learned how talented he actually is but have never had the chance to see him play in person since. There are quite a few of his solo gigs on YT which are just mindblowing.
There's some videos of both of them (different videos) chicken pickin, playing slap, flamenco, and of course shredding.. it's always impressive how versatile they are
It’ll never cease to amaze me how quickly Justin can pick up a guitar and immediately play whatever it is he’s just heard, regardless of genre, tempo or tuning. Absolutely fascinating to watch! 🤯🥰
Saw Motley Crue on saturday night in Sydney and, as sad as I am for Mick Mars it's undeniable what an amazing guitarist he is. He was able to capture Mick's style and add more during the show. No comment on Vince.
Awesome videos as always Justin, J5 is probably one of the top ten guitarists of our generation. Justin you're a freaking amazing guitarist and singer You're my top 10 guitarists of all time. You should do a video of your Jag style guitar. Loved seeing you jam and play in San Francisco. 🤘
John 5 is a beast. The fact that he got hooked on guitar watching hee haw and watching those country players SHRED on teles playing clean without distortion is awesome. He’s amazing because he can play so clean while the signal is clean. His technique is flawless.
Really love watching your reactions.. but this one…. I LOVE! Just finished seeing John 5 in Sydney with Motley Crüe and the energy, and musicianship he brought was incredible! His stage presence was extraordinary. He is absolutely brilliant.
I really appreciate what you do. Your videos are always just the right length, your content is unique, your insights are gems, and your insider perspective on the music biz never disappoints. And your wit and guitar skills are just frosting on a very delicious cake. Thank you (and Jenny May!) for all your hard work!
John5 is just incredibly talented! Justin, let's not forget that you are pretty good with the old geetar too! I remember watching you, quite a few years ago now, at some awards ceremony shortly Permission to Land first came out. Not sure where the event was or when, but I remember watching you strut around in the audience riffing away at legendary speed. I thought then, he is mind-blowingly good! Can you recall what event this was and if it is available on your channel?
I like to describe his playing style and his sound as playing naked….exposed raw vulnerable without a large amount of outboard FX wizardry and he consistently does it successfully
hey......from Alberta Canada( THE, Most Beautiful Place on Earth ;) )..........Justin, i give you more Credit than i ever thought u had. You are a True Musician. I Like your videos & i LOVED, a Thing Called Love.
I grew up 10 minutes from him. He's grosse point michigan. I troy Michigan... He's awesome dude. He shredded at congress and st. Andrews, the ritz, db coopers. Just a fantastic local guy!
I remember hearing a story about John 5 while touring with Manson. On his night's off he'd go to country bars and sit in with bands. It's like one night you're jammin' to Garth Brooks and the next night playing The Beautiful People.
What? WTF... I had to check, and he's almost exactly as old as I am, it differs less than a month (he's 16 days older than I am, to be exact)... Magic indeed... What!!?? 😮
I saw an interview with John and he was asked how many hours he practiced, and he didn't seem to understand the question. I think the answer was "all of the hours" but he wasn't sure how to respond. I saw the same reaction with SRV on a morning show. These guys just always have a guitar with them and never stop!
I saw John 5 tour Australia with Def Leppard and Motley Crüe in 2023. He was very impressive according to my classical trained composer hubby. I just like great riffs as I know what I like.
One of my all time faves. I was once told when I was young to "check out Marylin Mansons guitarist, hos solo stuff is assume" and I just didnt believe it to be true. I was blown away by his ability to mix in those country style licks and metal and the normal shredding stuff. He is probably the reason I got into country, and bought a telecaster 😂
I'm new to John 5 and Buckethead, and even though they're absolute shredders, they're the only two shredders I can stand to listen to for any length of time. I hate mindless wanking. On the guitar. There's just more there, there with both those guys. And you, Justin.
Interesting observation about him staying with the neck pickup for the whole tune. I love his tone. He's the riffmaster. He does fantastic medleys with his band. Every classic riff is perfect. I like that he's a one guitar guy, a tele forever.
John 5 is a very underrated guitarist... he has had associations with other alternative metal artists in the 90's like Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie, but he is coming into his own as a solo performer.
You mean unknown players, to be underrated, people need to know who he is and anyone that’s heard him play rates him as one of the best all round players ever.
YES!!! John5! He's incredible. So happy you covered him. My first exposure to him was via Marilyn Manson, but his solo stuff is great too. I play the album "Songs for Sanity" all the time.
A. Can't wait to see you in Paris this week! B. Have you heard Empire State Bastard yet? They have this drummer named Dave Lombardo that is pretty sick on drums. Check out the song " Moi"
I’m sure lots of people like myself would like to see your study up on Zakkk Wylde if you haven’t already. It’s astonishing what he does with a guitar live
J5 is an awesome guitar player and seems like a really great bloke. Saw him with Manson back in 2003 and many times since he joined Rob Zombies group. J5 has always been the highlight at each show.
I was at the Motley Crue concert in Sydney this past Saturday (the 11th). Apart from the strange things he does with his head (very bird like) John was great. He can play, yes sir.
Saw him a couple of days ago with Motley Crue in Sydney, he was definitely a charismatic and awesome entertainer. I have a new found love for him, he was easily the best person on that stage.
Seen John with motley crue at Wembley this year, as much as I love mick Mars john5 did an amazing job with crue and would love to hear him on the new rumoured motley album that’s coming if it comes lol
John 5 is most definitely my favorite guitar player. Not really into the band he joined, but he deserves every bit of success he can get. His solo stuff is mind blowing, and I love his chicken-pickin' country influenced runs, he is sofa king good.
Thank You for mentioning Yngwie! He started the wwhole next pickup movement way back in the early 80's. The song makes me think of what if Yngwie and Satriani had a kid.....
Listened to him from Rob Zombie as well, but didn't really take note until I saw the video for Feisty cadavers, he just looked so happy just making music. His noodling on his instagram is also insane
Interesting! I’m just reading about John5 and 2wo in Rob Halford’s book Confess. Your episode on Judas Priest sparked my curiosity! I keep hearing kd lang mentioned - could you talk about her someday?
I know I’m not the first person to say this…. However I have always believed that the lead guitarist is our version of the number 1 chair violinist chair back in the day. They were probably considered rockstars in their day.
John played on David Lee Roth's "DLR" album and Eddie Van Halen himself said "In Lowery, Roth got himself somebody nails that vintage Van Halen fun." But yeah, John is the only player who could play Castle Donington one day and the Grand Ole Opry the day after, and being completely at home at both of them.
When i got the youtube notification for this episode i played it immediately. I thought it was a picture of the beloved Alexi laiho ❤ Has Justin ever reacted to children of Bodem?
His guitar is basically the Buckethead Les Paul in the body of a telecaster. Pretty sweet. I had an opportunity to get a buckethead LP pretty cheap about 10(?) years ago and didn't go for it, and now I feel like a dumdum because now they're super rare and crazy expensive
He's very good. That's a Tele on steroids and some do it because they like the scale of a Fender. For me Steve Vai was doing this stuff in the 90's. A melodic solo is more memorable.
I felt like i was hearing some dimension D on there! I didnt see it in the rack, i imagine there's some tape echo as well I wouldnt have liked to hear some big chords on the bridge pickup myself, but the opening pattern made its percussive point haha
It's always good to see John 5 get the love he deserves, there are few musicians as comprehensive as he is.
If this how good John 5 is, just imagine how great John 6 will be.
😂
I wonder how bad John’s 1 through 4 were
😂😂😅
@@patmullen9978 They hadn't gotten it right just yet. Back into the vat for them!
@@patmullen9978John 1 was og
John 5 is mind-blowingly good, and every time I've seen him talk he's seemed super approachable and down to earth.
Justin you’re just the loveliest person. Regardless of the trajectory of my day I can count on a video from you for a boost. Thank you for the awesome content my friend. And John 5 is one of my top 5 live guitarists I’ve ever seen, no pun intended.
I love your reactions. I love your music. I love you and I don't even know you. You're an inspiration. Thank you for always making me smile.

John5 is an amazing guitarist. Saw him with Motley last June!❤
He is incredibly good! Love your videos Justin, stay awesome ☮️☀️❤️
Saw him with Manson, Zombie and Crüe, he was easily the best aspect of each show.

Always great seeing you enjoy the content as much as we do. Cheers❤
John 5 and buckethead are both amazing creators that can play in any style. awesome stuff
There's some videos of both of them (different videos) chicken pickin, playing slap, flamenco, and of course shredding.. it's always impressive how versatile they are

I adore these videos and your perspective. Cheers from across the pond!
John 5 is what every guitar player should strive for. Thanks for this! Cheers!
John 5 wrote "Fight song" when he was in Marlyn Manson . Thit is the coolest industrial riff you can get with telecaster...
He has humbuckers in his telecaster so its not really a telecaster though
Awesome videos as always Justin, J5 is probably one of the top ten guitarists of our generation. Justin you're a freaking amazing guitarist and singer You're my top 10 guitarists of all time. You should do a video of your Jag style guitar. Loved seeing you jam and play in San Francisco. 🤘

He's a versatile guitarist too. He has a song called Noche Acosador which is basically flamenco music.
Great song too!❤

That's literally his signature guitar called the Ghost. One of the most beautiful guitars ever made in my opinion. Absolutely gorgeous.
I’ve met John several times and I concur, he is most agreeable 😊
Really love watching your reactions.. but this one…. I LOVE! Just finished seeing John 5 in Sydney with Motley Crüe and the energy, and musicianship he brought was incredible! His stage presence was extraordinary. He is absolutely brilliant.
Thanks for highlighting this - John's guitar looks awesome!!!
I loved White Zombie. A friend played it for me on our way to Robert Moses Beach, Long Island many years ago & it blew me away. BAV

Justin enjoys his craft. It is nice to see.

Finally!!! John 5 is great! So much personality on and off stage.
I like to describe his playing style and his sound as playing naked….exposed raw vulnerable without a large amount of outboard FX wizardry and he consistently does it successfully
Was introduced to John 5 via ‘That Metal Show(sorely missed)’. Always enjoyed when he was the guest musician of the week.
His dogs lack of expression reminds me of my Mum when I excitedly play her something that has taken me weeks or months to learn.

Saw him in july in Glasgow performing with motley crue loved his solo. Amazing guitar player
Love John5!🤘🤘 and you too Justin!!
Great guitarist.
Again, never heard of him before watching this video.
Thanks ⭐️
John 5 is one of the Guitar Gods sitting on the Olympus of guitar playing. They keep Rock alive

OK, now seriously and sticking to the point, the song is amazing!!! I love videos like this one, focused on guitar, Thank you Justin!🎸❤

Amazing player
John 5 is one of the most versatile guitar players out there. Get him to play a solo or two on the next album 🤘
I will never get over how Justin can pickup a riff so quickly.
Oh great. Your an entertainer and love your passion for music.

Maybe to non guitar players? I think anyone who plays guitar knows how awesome and versatile John5 is.

John 5: The world's guitar teacher.
I always love your diddley dees! I do that too! 😂😂😂
YES!!! John5! He's incredible. So happy you covered him. My first exposure to him was via Marilyn Manson, but his solo stuff is great too. I play the album "Songs for Sanity" all the time.

I got to meet him before a show years ago. He was really nice and the show was fantastic!

"The Dog remains unaffected". Great album title!
John 5 is amazingly talented and super nice guy in person
Man I've been following John for ages, so cool to see you covering him. His track Noche Acosador is phenomenal
John 5 is alive 🤘🔥🤘
Dude definitely sits at the table of greats.
Love John5. He’s one better than John4.

Always Great observations man, ?? please darkness Canada Toronto any plans , You Rule Justin 😎
Oh!!! I thought you were going to say: _John 5, not to be confused with the previous 4 Johns..._ 😅
Ha ha ha, I had the exact same thought 😂
Listened to him from Rob Zombie as well, but didn't really take note until I saw the video for Feisty cadavers, he just looked so happy just making music. His noodling on his instagram is also insane
Interesting! I’m just reading about John5 and 2wo in Rob Halford’s book Confess. Your episode on Judas Priest sparked my curiosity! I keep hearing kd lang mentioned - could you talk about her someday?
Ah yeah good spot - the binding, double humbuckers, and the location of the toggle switch -the Fender Troublemaker
The beginning of the song reminds me of mean Street by Van Halen
I know I’m not the first person to say this…. However I have always believed that the lead guitarist is our version of the number 1 chair violinist chair back in the day. They were probably considered rockstars in their day.

Saw him play at a Rob Zombie gig with a guitar that had all these cyberpunky looking lights on it. Very very cool stuff.
Seen him with sort of a lava lamp guitar and one with it's own laser show too! Making the instrument part of the visuals is indeed a very cool touch.
@@DonPandemoniacthe lava lamp guitar is my favorite!
The best Manson shows were with John5 and Twiggy.
Blimey 60s model guitarist !
now that's impressive 😁
You should do Buckethead. He`s one of John 5`s hero`s.
Tina Guo is a classically trained cellist who also rocks it like EVH rocked a guitar. She's definitely one to observe in action!
That’s pretty damn badass!
When i got the youtube notification for this episode i played it immediately. I thought it was a picture of the beloved Alexi laiho ❤ Has Justin ever reacted to children of Bodem?
John 5 is like an Olympic gold medal guitar player. Just a lifetime of practice on display.
Yes.. yes he is.. that good..
