He wasn't a baseliner and had powder puff shots. Federer took it easy on him in this match Henman well out of his depth here. The coming to the net tactic wasn't actually Henman wanting to come to the net he was being drawn in by Federer.
Roger is the Novak Djokovic of this match, the player who plays less at the net and wins more from neutralizing the net guy with powerful ground strokes. How times change.
@어디서 좀놀았니 eh... Henman used to own Federer until 2004. Was leading the h2h like 6-1. He was a great player. Sure he didn’t win a major but he reached #4 in the world and several slam semis. Won the Paris Masters in 2003 defeating Kuerten, Federer and Roddick is straight sets. By 2006 he was at the end of his career and the game was changing anyway.
@Chop Chop He has said on a few occasions that if anything he over-achieved and has been happy to play the part in fun as nearly man so maybe its in your head, pure dislike can do that.
Henman was weak compared to Murray, as he didn't win a single grass ATP tournament even though he won a lot of points to reach the top 10. I'd say the British media hyped up his chances. When 2006 began he was already in decline and couldn't handle the baseline ralliers.
@@Onmysheet Henman played on faster grass though and there were many great grass players, not least of all Sampras, but also strong servers like Ivanisevic and Philippoussis. He reached the final at Queens 3 times but lost to Sampras and peak Hewitt. Grass was his best surface but unfortunately for him Sampras was dominant there.
Just passing through on my journey to watch every Federer match.
Back when uso courts were lively and entertaining to watch
The tour balls are bigger to. They sell more tickets with longer rallies
Yup, they keep the balls faster for womens game tho.
That Eurosport switch up was slick rick😎😎
henman was just a rock solid player. fundamentally sound with all his skills; just didn't have an elite weapon he could rely on to win points.
Henman didn't play too badly, bit it was clear from the start that he wasn't going to win.

Don’t agree, Henman was a serve and volleyer by nature, he wasn’t being “drawn in” by federer.
Tim Henman fantastic anyway !!!
Really fun match with interesting playing.

The video shifts at 4:30- (the photography is less sharp, and the voiceover isn't in English).
Thanks!
the perfect revenge for the wimbledon 2001 match
Not as perfect as his rape against Henman US 2004 (best year for Henman) semis, which was even more impressive than this.

I think they got the mic on a couple of annoying guys in the crowd instead of the real commentators.
Why is this video flipping to and from the US coverage to foreign? Quite annoying.
Henman was never good enough to beat Federer, few people are that talented. Eventually Murray managed it !
Henman had a winning record against roger until about 2004/2005
lol Henman beat Federer 6 times
So Henman literally beat Federer in his career but by your logic 'Henman was never good enough to beat Federer'. You're smart
And Federer start to winning lol so what@@TheSupinesmokey
