Don't come to another country unprepared then complain about your struggles. You must make good decisions in life like your life depends on it. Because it does.
As aliens, we face the same/more problems while ranting house in Korea. Your skin color, country, and occupation play a major role when the landlord speaks with you.
When I visited Japan they laughed at me when I was trying to speak Japanese. The women told me I sounded like a sumo wrestler 😮😂 I get it, I looked very different and I was so happy to be traveling outside ISA with open heart and mind. I wanted to eat the local food, learn the culture and make new friends. They just wanted me to pay and move on 😢I did not care if they thought I was to friendly, I just wanted to show that I could learn something new and show respect. Unfortunately hate is a worldwide problem and those of us who keep an open heart and mind, will hopefully help change and heal this world. ❤ LOVE WINS ALWAYS!!!!! Mexico and Jamaica were by far the most friendliest places I have ever visited.
When I was 7, my family moved to the US. My dad washed dishes went to work at 7am and returned at midnight. My mom learned enough english to become a waitress. My dad was so homesick he begged my mom to return to korea. My mom said no because there was no future for poor people there and that America was the best chance the family had for my brother and I to get educated. She was right. I'm 48 now, my brother and I both graduated from college, and the only thing my dad has to worry about these days are his golfing scores. Even though I grew up here, I kept alot of korean customs including the oldest child taking care of their parents.
At least they have Rights protected by law and enforced by law and the people around them will stand up for them That can't be said of foreigners in Korea who have to battle poorly formed law and even worse enforcement with no one standing up nor willing to stand up for them. Life's already up for them and good luck
Its always good to hear a positive side of those living out of the country like Korea..in fact living outside korea is always a better choice because hardly we can hear a good view of foreigner living in korea are happy maybe just for a short time is fine but not for a long time..surely the worse experience is end up suffering with enxiety and all sort of mental health
There are so many opportunities in America for those with an entrepreneurial desires. My roommate started her own event planning business (both Korean and American), that includes clothing rentals, a photography studio, and flower arranging. She also has an online store and plans to start a tour company. She has only been in the US 6 years, she built her business all on her own.
Came to the state at early 80s to study & been settled on Long Island for 30yrs after being married, now I am 59. Recently gave up financial sector job, financially wealthy but emotionally dry. Visited to Korea last yr to see my hay day's place, Su Yu Ri. Even though the place has been changed a lot I still can recognize the area pretty well with nostalgic memories. Now considering to move back permanently . To the best of my knowledge, Korean Government allows duel citizenship after 65 yrs old .
I very much empathise with them and their experiences with living in the states, but it’s not as if South Korea is any better, especially when it comes to favouring their own people over foreigners. I’m a Mexican, born and raised in the US, and yes, growing up I faced a lot of discrimination and racism, and that’s sadly the life of most people of color in this country. I had never really heard about South Korea before and never really knew anything about other East Asian countries either, but I decided to visit for a month in 2019 as I’m always up for trying new cultures and putting myself into different atmospheres. Not a bad experience, but can definitely say I faced more discrimination in only a month of living there than my whole 20 years of living in the US. There was not a single time I didn’t feel like an outsider. My other foreign friends also said the same, including my Korean friend, as she got treated differently just because she was born and raised in the US and not Korea💀. I’m not spiting South Korea just because of this video, as despite my experiences, it’s still a beautiful country with gorgeous culture, but it’s just a reminder not to talk shit about other countries when yours is also no better. I also say the same towards my people who try to act like the US is better than everywhere else. Nonetheless, I still hope these people enjoy their stay here. 🙂
Preach !! it is `100% correct. I am married and I had to educate my husband about that because he did not realize how bad it was. South Korea has a huge discrimination issue and it is not getting better. I can talk that way because I've worked and lived here for over 10 years
I dont like the fact Mexicans get special treatment in the USA. I mean, you guys literally break the law and get away with it here. Alot of you dont pay taxes or car and health insurance, and get welfare benefits we could never dream of getting.
@@chukim8012 This is quite off topic. We are talking about Korea here. I know on top of being off topic, you are extremely prejudiced. This is one of the tactics used by some locals who feel hurt when pointing negative facts about their own country, that they don't necessarily face themselves. It is the same everywhere. Foreigners in Korea also face discrimination. Governments would definitely only want unique talented foreign talent to come to their country. This is to protect local citizen right, if not, riots et. Would happen and destabilise the country.
I hope these Koreans will reflect on how difficult life is for foreigners in Korea. Because the level of discrimination against foreigners can be worse than these Koreans are experiencing in America, especially if you are black, Indian, or from SE Asia. There aren't even anti-discrimination laws in South Korea.
At least they arent getting attacked and murdered like Asians were during Covid. And trust me black people in the US face more discrimination than they do in Korea.
Hi there. Native American & US citizen here. Listen: If you wanna live the 'American Dream', you gotta earn it. Hustle hard, work smarter. Money, Titles & respect is EARNED, not GIVEN. People on US Soil recognize you for what you do, not who you are. Roll up your sleeves & get your hands dirty, get that elbow grease. Also. New York City isnt the rest of the United States. Step outside the box, get a car & go out on the open country roads. Vist dense parks. Smaller towns. And when you get back to your station, you will have a better understanding of the outdoors as well as the big city. Don't just become a tourist, become an adventurer. Or not, its up to you.
I wonder if any of the Koreans in this video are aware that the U.S. has anti-discrimination laws that protect them. It must be noted that Korea does not have anti-discrimination laws. Also, they seem to be generally satisfied with their American lives which is nice to see.
Holy shit! Anti discrimination law protects Korean immigration in US? Do you really think of that? Now America is a Home of Asian hate crimes until today!!! Anti discrimination law and fucking affirmative action are against Asians in US ! Korean Americans seem to be generally satisfied with nice to see ??? What a racist bitch or stupid ? A lot of Korean Americans are feared with American lives and Satisfaction of them is worse!
I suppose moving to any country certainly will have it challenges!! But if your determined and have a strong will I believe you can make it!! Here in the states are plenty of opportunities for anyone to succeed!! Yes their maybe some boundaries/walls you may encounter but try and migrant into some of your own culture while yet understanding a little bit of the American Culture then I believe you will be just fine!! And also not to be harsh or ANYthing but a lot of asians are antisocial. You build the wall, if you open yourself more to the world not only everytime in your culture and among yourselves you will experience the world a whole lot more. It’s almost imposible to make friends with you. It was interesting to hear their voices, but they should learn something from their own complaints, maybe, empathy and realization? Why do you need to migrate to the US? Is South Korea not good? If SK is not good, why are you Koreans not staying back in your own country to make it better? Did you know SK has a declining population for 2 years - 2020 and 2021? So if more Koreans migrate overseas and its population declines then one day perhaps South Korea will cease to exist?

Now America is a home of Asian hate crimes!
On US Soil, if they get caught doing that, thats a whole court case. Let the landlord say something funny ONE time.
