3. Real Madrid’s lack of energy in midfield right now isn’t talked about enough as much as people say that “they can’t play without Kroos and they don’t have a creative player who can replicate or come close to what he did” Camavinga was one of their best performers against Liverpool and he played very well, he’s injured and he’s out for a club of weeks, Tchouameni is injured, after some disappointing performances this season as they’re open to selling him in January, what does their midfield look like without 2 of their first choice midfielders. Valverde who has done pretty good at the right back will have to go back to playing as a midfielder. They are easily able to punish other teams and badly expose their weaknesses, look at the way Liverpool played against them and with all due respect to Modric he’s a brilliant player, but once and for all “Father Time has defeated him” at the age of 39, he doesn’t have a lot left in his legs to get around the pitch.
Exactly, I don't even think Arda Güler will be good for us in midfield. Fede is by far our best midfielder. Tchouameni, I think will return to his best form.
I told my friends last season about Bellingham as a CF when the mbappe rumors started, I said to them jude proved to us that he can be a world-class striker, and a striker is what we need, no offense to kylian. jude and Vini would be the deadliest duo; it would give us that Vini and Karim feeling.
2. Real Madrid doesn’t have the profile of an out and out striker and this has been one of the biggest issues in their attack. In my opinion, they still haven’t properly replaced Benzema’s void in the team, and it’s not even the fact that he was an irreplaceable player in their attack, Joselu was a lot more important to the team than people expected him to be and it’s crazy to even say that they’re missing him as it looks like they do. He didn’t just have a knack for scoring important goals, he was deadly when it came to his physicality, heading, work rate, positioning always being in the box getting on the end of balls and crosses and with a target man of his profile, Madrid were able to play like that at times whenever he was on the pitch since he offered something different to their attack. Even if Mbappe starts scoring goals, the reality is that we’ll never see the best version of him at Real Madrid through the middle when he isn’t even a natural striker and I wonder who their best available choice is through the middle. Bellingham is versatile enough to play as a center forward and he has qualities that’ve been missing in their attack as they would have a lot more pace from the wide areas whether it’s Mbappe on the left him in the middle, Diaz the right, but I wonder how it’s going to work as I doubt that Ancelotti will lineup up like that. Him playing even higher up the pitch takes away the things he does as a midfielder even though most of the time, bro is doing cardio, I mean did he even play against Liverpool as most of the time, he was just jogging around instead of getting on the ball and try to actually make something happen. If Bellingham plays as a striker, at this point, I wonder what Endrick needs to do to get more playing time.
Endrick won't change anything in this team. Bellingham is perfect for the CF role. He is good with link up plays, good passer, great at timing his runs and is a good finisher. Him and Mbappe have also linked up very well many times this season.
What’s funny to me is that after UEFA decided to change the champions league into a league format, Real Madrid’s usual aura and juju in this competition has disappeared and they’ve lost it. A couple of months ago, I would never imagine them being in a situation where they’re in 24th place and might actually get eliminated from the competition altogether if things don’t change. In all seriousness though, against Liverpool, there was a lot of unsurprising things that were noticeable from an attacking perspective without Vinicius Junior and I’m not saying they would’ve won that game if he played, could he have made a difference, probably, but in his absence in combination as it showed how overreliant they are on him with the fact that Rodrygo was also injured, their attack was at a disadvantage and in terms of how they set up, they were limited in that regard because of the injuries they had. Pulling up to Anfield against an in form team who’s defense has been a brick wall with how difficult it is to break them down, a midfield that has a lot of energy and will protect the back 4 and defend well as a unit with everyone working hard without the ball even the attackers without the best player and top scorer who has scored majority of their goals in all competitions and is the only one consistently scoring goals even in the champions league and on top of that, he strikes fear into a lot of teams with how dangerous he is and the only options available at their disposal in attack is a superstar who is badly out of form and has been misfiring even if he played in his natural position, and 2 other guys who at best when everyone is fit are squad players plus for different reasons they haven’t played a lot this season and there was no focal point through the middle, this was always a disadvantage for them, Mbappe not playing well, Diaz as a false 9 was decent, Guler was unable to make an impact in the game and this was always a mismatch as they didn’t test their defense and made it look so easy for them. How are you going to take something out of the game when you were unable to create any meaningful chances as they had a shot on target here and there and that’s it. If you take Vini out of their attack, it’s clear on how much different they are when he doesn’t play due to what he offers for them. It’s very clear to a lot of Madrid fans that with they have at their disposal as literally half of their squad is injured, Ancelotti is running out of ideas and until Vini and Rodrygo comes back from injury, he needs to at least get something out of their attack as they’re in such an awful position in the champions league as they’re in 24th place in the league format as although they’re in a playoff spot (barely), they’re very close to the elimination spots. At this stage of the competition the bare minimum for Real Madrid is a playoff spot knowing full well that they have a chance of going through to the knockout stages as anything less than a win in their final 3 games means they’ll probably get eliminated completely and there’s a lot they need to sort out with all of the injuries they have to stay within touching distance of the title race in La Liga and at least get out of the league phase of the champions league even if he means doing it through the playoffs as they’ll take it as it’s not the position they wanted to be in.
Good news is that Rodrygo is back, so I think our attack will get better from here on. You're completely right on the attack, Vini might not have won us the game if he played but he would have done alot more than the entire front 3 that did play against Liverpool.
yk the funny thing about madrid is you rarely get midfield runs...modric wants to be on the ball....camavinga wants to be on the ball ,ceballos wants the same , occasionally valverde right now will make them and i'm not mentioning jude because we all know why ...the ball goes to the wing no runs from our midfielders to combine like Lpool and as far as mbappe goes we all know what he is capable of he'll be back..mendy should be our third cb in the build up in my opinion because as we saw mendy runs against liverpool were literally meaningless.. not talking about you @Keazen but if you know football no midfield runs then you either have to have some of the best wingers in the game as we do but some are injured, brahim is great in my opinion or you have from both sides inverted and overlaping runs from both fullbacks not just one to get numbers in the box and pull opposition out of position.
This team just needs Vini man..defensively Real have always been bad, the midfield is incomplete right now due to the injuries. Carvajal being injured is also a big factor to this teams downfall
You can check his heat maps and all to confirm that he is a midfielder but the thing about him they he is so versatile that he can play any where ( like Camavinga )
6:50 bro if a fullback can hold a ball go forward with it and make a good cross/pass/ create chance, the load of the defending automatically becomes low. As it is said "attack is the best defense" . Mendy can't make cross pass so the opponent always dominates that flank . You are thinking only one way, looks like your understanding of game is below basic. Why do you think top coaches play Fullback like trent despite knowing they can be exposed?. When you attack more you defend less. And also its not like mendy is very good defensively, he is ass this season in every way.
You make a great point, however a defender like Trent would be great and useful if we had a tall striker who can head goals in. Fran Garcia's crosses are very bad and never reach anyone. Mendy is useful because he can defend. He doesn't need to drive forward with the ball because we already have a quick and skillful winger like Vini.
@@keazenlanders a great fullback can make vini's game even more unstoppable. And fullbacks are not only for crosses. They link up with wingers, create chances it changes dynamic of the game totally. Messi+ dani alves, was prime example ( not comaparing with others ) . Look theo hernandez + mbappe link up in 2022 wc he was the big reason for great campaign. You don't need Zlatan or Giroud in the box to score goals. Fullbacks are backbones of the modern game they are more than defenders. Mendy is Lukaku version of lefbacks
1. At least get something out of Kylian Mbappe in the next couple of weeks: Mbappe was unsurprisingly very poor against Liverpool no offense because even in his natural position on the left wing, you’d think that he would finally perform as there were no more excuses for him to not play well as this was a perfect chance for him to regain his best form and finally win over Real Madrid fans and yet he still did nothing everything about the way he played his touches passes dribbles was off, he couldn’t even beat his man 1v1 as he was against their backup fullback who’s essentially a rookie and at the end of the day, yes he’s missed a penalty and it highlighted a lack of confidence and him not being in the right state mentally as he’s going through a lot as whatever he does isn’t coming off and from watching him, I feel bad for him, every great player has missed a penalty before and on top of that the keeper guessed the right way that’s all. It’s not just his lack of goals and overall contributions that’s concerning, I saw a stat that many Madrid fans themselves should have concerns over their team is that against Liverpool they covered the least ground and kilometers out of any team who played this week meaning that outside of 1-2 players who give it their all every game, there are too many players and this isn’t a surprising stat to anyone who watches this team. Also, Mbappe has ran the least kilometers per 90 out of any player in the champions league this season and as much as he’s a game changer, Vini is close to the bottom as well meaning that majority of Real Madrid’s attackers are not running or pressing without the ball as the only time they make direct runs or are trying to impact the game is when they have the ball and in that regard he’s a “passenger”. His attitude absolutely stinks and I’m not surprised because he’s spent majority of his career on a small club who basically allowed him to do whatever he wants mismanaged his contract situation by giving him all the power in the world as he was basically bigger than the club and some of the things he got away with, he can’t keep doing this at Real Madrid, this isn’t PSG or the “farmers league” and he’s a passenger in the team because he’s not scoring goals and when he isn’t doing anything on the ball, off the ball is a different story and him not working hard trying to press or even run when he loses the ball although he does it here and the attitude body language and him playing as if he has no interest whatsoever and doesn’t look ready, it’s unacceptable at this level and he needs to change it before it’s to late. On current form, if Vini and Rodrygo were fit, Mbappe wouldn’t be in the starting lineup because he hasn’t played well at all and I do think it gets to a point where Ancelotti will make some big decisions and decide to bench players who needs to be taken out of the spotlight for a couple of days as while I don’t know how long they can keep going like this, dropping him isn’t the solution as it’ll only make things worse and derail his confidence even further and since it doesn’t matter how barely he’s playing when he is too good to be on the bench. Is his performance against Liverpool the end of the world, no because he’s going to have better games for Madrid and we shouldn’t give up on him and maybe the conversation about him on the left wing will be different depending on how he performs.
100%, Mbappé's work rate is shocking, he doesn't press, barely runs and if nothing changes in 2025, then he is going to be benched. This isn't PSG anymore.
Mbappe will get back his form I'm still 100% confident in him Madrid gods are still punishing and humbling him for what he did back in 2022😂... I think we gotta play mbappe lw endrick st then second half we play brahim RW and rodrygo LW( we gotta be careful with him he just came back from injury) jude fede and ceballos on midfield Arda as 10. Modric is second half player now no disrespect to him he's a club legend but starting ain't for him anymore and fran as LB i heard there's this kid named fortea in our academy he's a RB and a gem
Real Madrid should really give Fortea a try in the first team. Rodrygo coming back is a big plus but as you said, they need to be careful with him. Fran is good but he'll leave our defense in shambles. We already have a RB that gets forward which is Vazquez.
Bro put my name first on the list to get "i told you so, see Mbappe is great". I still believe the answer is to bench him, i have outlined my reasons in previous comments, but i dont know what else to say, except ask yourself this question do you want Mbappe to win? Or do you want Real Madrid to win? (You can't have both in the current state). If its for the latter then he has to be on the bench (or attend a Tony Robbins conference). Football is many things but if i can highlight 3 things, it is harmony, chemistry and tactics, and sadly Mbappe only brings negativity to these 3 points. The team is unharmonious with him, the team lacks chemistry with him and tactically he creates tactical assymetry and numerical disadvantage. This season's Real Madrid (with Mbappe) find ways to perform poorly and lose, last season's Real Madrid (without Mbappe) always found ways not to lose. Focusing on the positives, Raul Ascensio has been a gem of a find, he is not a Cubarsi but give him a season and he will be. Arda slowly getting more minutes (and match experience), the Liverpool game he was not that great but he was (defending), trying to drive into the Liverpool danger zone, trying to attack (he had 4 shots, Real in total had 9, Liverpool had 17 or 19 in total). Rodrygo is back. Ceballos in the Leganes game was pretty decent and played his role well, he should have started the Liverpool game.
I don't blame you for disliking Mbappe right now but I don't think he is a problem in the team. Once he starts performing then he definitely won't be a problem in the team. Rodrygo being back is great news
Bro mbappe position has to do nothing with position. He is simply not good now anywhere. i don't know its temprorary dip in firm or he is finished. He was poor in euro. My view is his game 70% depends on speed it looks like he lost his pace little bit. And main thing is he is not the one who runs with ball on his feet , but he always used to push ball far and run hard to reach it. Similar to what gareth bale used to do in his prime.
