Maynard’s voice in the early 2000’s was surreal. That scream was 100% natural, and it truly blows my mind to this day. Saw them live a couple weeks ago and while he can’t hold the scream for 30 seconds he still gives it his all and that’s all we TOOL fans can ask.
Every album. Every song. Personally I've never heard a Tool song I didn't like. They have a album for every emotion. If I need to shed some aggression, Opiate or Undertow my medicine. Spiral out Lateralus or Fear Inoculum. 10,00O days runs the entire spectrum.
Oh..you found The Grudge. One of their best. Really feel the roller coaster ride on this one. And the 25 second scream at the end. It only gets better with Tool. Let go of the grudge or sink. The scream is real too, I've seen him do it live. Please do Pushit from "ænima, their 2nd full album next. Do the studio version before the live version then the live version where they change the arrangement, they're both great but you'll appreciate the live version better that way. ♥️🤘😎🤘♥️
If I’m not mistaken and if you can really hear it, his scream lasts for 29 seconds, which would be in Tool fashion to make sense with the notion of the Saturn Return. A 29 year cycle which represents maturity.
No he does the scream live seen them 7 times does it every time. Their name is TOOL because they wanted their music to be a device that could better individuals lives. If you listen to the lyrics of this song it is about how much better your life becomes when you let go of things like Grudges and how you can turn something negative into a positive. "Give away the stone Let the oceans take and trans mutate this cold and fated anchor Give away the stone Let the waters kiss and trans mutate these leaden grudges into gold"
@@sacredgeometry it’s impossible to put TOOL in any given genre because they just don’t fit into any of them. I call it Mana Music because somehow it feeds our souls like the food of the Gods.
@@tonysoto8949 Right but they certainly dont really fit in Metal (which as much as I love it is very nerdy). They are based in a completely different heritage, even with Meshuggahs apparently influence on 10,000 days. They are certainly closer to rock/ grunge/ alt rock/ prog than they are to metal.
Great reaction! (as always) And love James' intro: yeah, with Tool, especially anything from Lateralus, just let yourself go and enjoy the ride, for sure
I just saw them last month in concert, they played “The Grudge”. Maynard’s scream lasted only about 15 seconds. This after 2 bouts of covid and now being an old dude. Tool song? “Pushit”. Either version.
Saturn's orbital period is 29.5 Earth years. He was trying for that many seconds, but *only managed 27 seconds of scream. He got that lung power via his "Gracie" Brazilian jiu-jitsu training, in which he has a purple belt.
So think about it like this, in the studio you can do many takes until you get it right, he most likely really held that scream, it’s a talent of his, when they play live, he just holds the scream For as long as he can, but not 25 seconds lol You guys now have a idea of what you getting your selves into with Tool. Buckle uP.✌
Oh it’s a real scream…trust me. Check out any live concert clips from 2001-2002 when this album came out. It’s incredible.
He still hit it in 2022
@@1982jimeno yes he does. Maybe not 27 seconds but still incredible. Saw it twice.
It doesn't sound human, because he isn't human

YUP
That "should we have sex to this" was priceless 😂. Great reaction overall.
💀🤣

Deftones - "Passenger"
You are welcum.
The whole album is great from start to finish.

You need to do Pneuma drum cam next so you can see a part of the set up and what they are capable of doing live.
One of the greatest heavy metal screams ever recorded. Lateralus as a record is simply a lesson in musical appreciation.
Tool aren't metal.

@@dfbovey When is that?
Also check out Bottom from Tool’s first studio album Undertow. They guy can scream & sing, amazing artist.
One of Tools most underrated songs and my favorite.
Third Eye, Right in Two, Invincible and on and on. Enjoy your Tool journey!🤟🏼✌️
Great reaction! (as always)
And love James' intro: yeah, with Tool, especially anything from Lateralus, just let yourself go and enjoy the ride, for sure
Love watching Tool members being born, lol, it's like watching a child grow and develop, I was watching for Maynard's 25 second scream.
What a beast of a song
Their faces at 5:55 "did I just become a tool fan?"

Nope, that's not crazy. That's Maynard. One big ass, all out 25 second long scream. The dude is that fuckin' good.
scream is legit. seen it live a couple times. The man is amazing.
I keep this CD as 1 of 6 in my cars CD player at all times
That was a true unedited 25-second scream in the studio. They said he nearly passed out at the end
The ALBUM Lateralus opened with the Grudge. This was perhaps equaled only by the opening track of AiC's "Dirt". What a way to set the tone.

Turn it up! 👆
The holy trinity next plz
Yess definitely disposition , reflection , triad. The holy trinity of tool 🤘🌀
Your reaction to The Scream was...correct.👍
“I have a boner”! Very well stated.

Next? Pick any song off this album. You won't regret it. :)
A ride in a roller coaster that’s not finished yet-
Greatest album ever , ill argue with any1 to tell me otherwise
Quite possibly one of the best albums, ever.
I saw him scrunched down in his Speedos screaming that live...if he pushed a button on his mic to hold the note it was not noticeable.
Cool man you guys did the grudge, good job!
Spat out my drink with the should we have sex to this song bit lol. Great song so raw. Not everyone gets this mood
Truth be told i can think of 20 tool songs that have this kind of thump. Maynard front 2 other bands, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer
Before next Tool song try "Best Maynard`s scream" if you don`t belive it is one take.. Trust me it is🙂
Just a 27 second scream no big deal lol
If you haven't figured out by now, Tool aren't human
Isn't human😂
I just want to know if it became a daily thing for you guys to listen to them.
If you want a trip listen to Parabol and Parabola together. Best piece of music ever made.
It was your favorite because it was the last
Woah is right
I thought you were the guy from Coldplay. I don’t say that to poke fun at you; I’m short and have a large forehead.
I laughed
I must get to all the other tool reaction channels excuse me. ,it's becoming an epidemic
F.i. Was a good attempt
toolarmy
Sex to the Grudge! That’s awesome!
25 seconds.
Yeah, I came a little bit too 🥴
Wear the grudge like a crown of negativity!
