    My self being taller I find I have a slow pull as well, but once the bar gets mid thigh it's all power baby! So could be a height thing.

      I feel like it is a height thing. My legs are pretty long so the pull always looks difficult, but I feel I can explode from the power position better and get under it. if I try and pull fast my technique seems to suffer

      I have very long legs (relative to torso ofc) but I'm short.
      My first pull is super strong and fast, my second sucks!

    *in a french accent* yes.. we lift thee weights, it is not a problem. i lift one weight, two weight .. and sometime 3 weight. it does not matter to me.

    Nice snatches! At the beginning I was thinking the guy is lighter, but then I saw 94 kg in the description. Can't compare to the 200 kg snatch video of Moradi, though..

    Speed is irrelevant during the first pull. Acceleration occurs in the second pull, in a very small amount of time and an even smaller amount of distance. Hence why his pulls “look” slow.

      Disagree, as the second pull is off of momentum from first pull. It's a moving bar.

      David Stryker I will have to disagree with you there, the faster the first pull, the less acceleration you’ll achieve during the 2nd pull. Yes, the bar is one moving object and the thought of putting X amount of force during the initial pull sounds like a wonderful idea, but the bar can only travel so fast. Acceleration in a small distance will create the explosion needed. But I’d like to see more of your opinion as to why. Thank you

      Point well taken! As a mere amateur, I find my second pull better when the bar is still moving up. Not necessarily fast, but not slow either! Sure, pause snatches are great too. But isn't there a reason why you don't often see pause cleans? I couldn't explain it, but no doubt something in dynamics of the clean that calls for uninterrupted movement.

      Both ways can work tho, eventho most people sits in between.
      See Vanev's first pull, fast as light, outwordly lifts, or see this guy's first pull, very slow, still amazing results.

      He usually does it 1 hour after his training sessions and he does not does it if he does not feel like it ! His main problems are squats and pulls so he keeps his energy for those ones !

      +POWERCAMP - Perhaps you don't want to share this information but if possible please let me know a rough outline of his weekly training to address these weaknesses - I have a similar build and weaknesses.

      He starts almost all his trainings with squats, and then works on his sntach and clean and jerk
      Monday - Friday Backsquat
      Wednesday Front squat
      Tuesday - Thursday heavy pulls !

      pretendcampus He's clearing the way for the bar as it passes his knees. Moving both knees outward allows him to keep the bar closer, and his shoulders over the bar.

      His main weakness is his squats. His max front squat is 190 and his max clean and jerk is 195...

      Alan Songhwan Park his snatch would be better than you think. He has a difference of 20 kg in cj and snatch. Thats extremely rare. His snatch is his strength
