The Arcade looks a bit spooky with all the lights and games off, Halloween came early this year. Not too long back after seeing you use those wire strippers so often I picked up a pair off of amazon. Best wire strippers I'd ever used in my life. Strips the wire perfectly each time without fail. I never would have known about them if I'd never run across your channel.

About arcade games in fast food joints, my first encounter with the original Mortal Kombat 1 arcade machine was when it was just hitting the arcades and somehow the McDonald's in the next town got a hold of one. My buddy's girlfriend worked there and we would go by there after working 3rd shift and dropped tons of quarters in that wild game. Then some kids came in and got upset because it didn't have fatalities turned on. We were like, "What the heck is a fatality"? They laughed at us and directed us to the local mall where we found out and the rest is history. Now I have a Mortal Kombat 1 and 2 cabinet in my house, lol!

We also had a Neo Geo arcade cabinet along with the Hurricane and T2 pinball machines at the local bowling alley. I played it so much that I later on 1CC Art of Fighting, Soccer Brawl and Samurai Shodown without problem. :)

Hey John, Huge fan. I just wanted to say... I picked up your kill Screens Album.... its real good! Uber creative. Also... you mentioned in the end that you apologized about letting out a vulgarity by accident when explaining your "burnt out Alt Rock guitar playing." Its all good about the vulgarity. I listen to a lot of channels that freely use vulgarity (sometimes to an extreme.)Even being a middle aged man, I find it annoying to hear F bombs get dropped every at every other sentence. But since my son is 6 years old , and loves watching and listening to your John's Arcade Channel with me. My son and I do appreciate your level of attention of what you say and how you present yourself and your channel. So Thank You for giving us a place we can visit and watch that is entertaining, informative and "good clean fun." Not many places on TH-cam that can be shared with the whole family like yours.Sincerely.

Big Trouble In Little China is a great movie. I'm sure you just picked the wrong moment to watch it. The right way to watch that movie is to queue it with other B movies like Escape From NY/LA, any from John Carpenter really, The Evil Dead, or the classics like Poltergeist, the exorcist, The Omen, Pet Cemetery and practically anything from the 80's. You should gather with friends a weekend and do an 80's party with those movies, arcade and music triangulating the depeche - social distortion - the police spectrum ^__^ EDIT: Maybe the IRobot has a bug? An Insect shorting the board? ^__^ 48:00 is an excellent project for Johnsucks.

Hey John, I had the same Tempest problem... chatter but no video at all. The problem was F600 fuse in the monitor. That is a 3A fast-blo. I replaced all 6 transistors and F600 and it totally fixed the problem. Also check F700. You may have already checked those off-camera, but there are 4 fuses on that 6100 board that could be bad. :)

49:18 For a project like the XBox arcade, you're probably as well to buy a new build cabinet and stick it in that, rather than butchering a classic. There's tonnes of places online that will sell you arcade cabinet kits.
However, I would add that the original XBox probably isn't best suited to be used inside a cabinet just because it really wants to be plugged into a TV, and a CRT TV for best results. So you'd have to mount a TV chassis inside the cabinet in place of the original monitor.
Xbox coinops is probably best used with a TV and custom arcade stick enclosure.

Ed, you can pick up the Radica-Gamester-Reflex-Arcade-Stick-2001 it's easy as fuck to hack. basically take it apart and connect extenders to the wires. Plus it comes with the buttons and the dope stick if it's going to be a dedicated XBOX arcade. You can get them for like $50 on ebay, but local game shops should be much cheaper.

just a answer to the Xbox question ...yes john your right you can hack a controller but the pads are super small, and you gotta watch the grounds or it goes wacky..best to ground ea button individualy ..its best to use a off brand type..also if your not good with solder you can buy a xarcade and Xbox adapter for it and gut the xarcade and transfer buttons and joys to the cabinet...another option is ultrimarc sells a adapter that goes from the Xbox to the older version ipac2 w the ps/2 plug...there is also the joy 2 key option encoder you can make...here's the link to video...there's a forum for this too if you Google hope it helps

Those wire strippers are bad and would not be IPC certified. They essentially pull the wire and rip the plastic off (only two flat blades on top and bottom of a round wire, the blades barely contact). When the plastic stretches, if any is left behind, it could hinder the crimp when the pin is put on. This happened to me when stripping about 250 wires to put into wago style screw terminals, and I had to search through and find out which wires weren't making contact.
Get a pair of stripmasters with round blades, Same "auto strip" concept, but much more reliable. Plus, if the blades ever dull, they are replaceable. Been using mine for years, and they still work like new.
