There are many myths and rumors about the KSG shotgun in Black Ops 2. This is episode is dedicated to explaining the first slug shotgun in a CoD game. The KSG is an extremely high damage and long range shotgun, but does take some skill to use properly.
"It only has 14 bullets and most of you probably aren't going to live through that" Thank-you for that vote of confidence.
That is true, though, think of each shot as a kill. The average person doesnt just get 14 kills in one life every time. And if you happen to miss any number of times, you will be filled with lead anyway, pump time and all.
Well than i guess i'm special... i usually fill the chamber a few times every life. i get lots of kills
Cooal Wasabi
so your kd with it has to be somewhere in the 5 - 10 kd range,
which i think is not the case
@@Exekutioncro my kd always goes down with shotguns
I say the KSG is amazing, but probably won't get you a high K/D. Its the most satisfying gun to use and will make you feel like a boss, but then there are games that just don't go right, the lag comp is weird or your arm just forgot how to aim and youll get really flustered, angry, spazz out on your shots, miss everything, die instantly and have a crummy day. It's a harsh mistress.
Uhhh look up vanossgaming shotgun montage see how he is with ksg.
I like the KSG a lot, probably because it is pretty much a higher risk, higher reward kind of gun. You have to aim well with it to hit with it, but if you miss your shot you're more often than not done for. Maybe time for a second shot if you're behind the guy you tried to shoot.
I wouldn't say I am undefeatable with it though, no no. I most often go about even, maybe a kill or two more than deaths but nothing vastly impressive. I just have a good feel for it and that is why I like it the most among the shotguns.
My k/d with the gun is 1.43 and its the gun that i normally use if you vheck my conbat record
+FuzzleLand Yeah that's me. I also hate how the ksg doesn't have an acog sight on it or some better optic.
i hate how some player can shoot next to me and it would still count as a kill but the only way i can kill someone is if its dead center
I still remember this gun...good times.
Jellyfrosh yeah man
its sad that this game is over 8 years :(
Quickdraw, Long Barrel are essential. Stock would be the next best thing.
jonathan murguia I've tried silencer on it, honestly cant see how its good on the KSG, IMO
i use the KSG with silencer and quick draw works best for me
Those suck honestly its laser sight, long barrel and quickdraw laser really helps for the close combats
QuickDraw and stock combo is the best. I dont understand drift0rs play style tho. When i use the ksg i just run around and basically quick sight with it. Y cuz im crazy and it works
It's reflex long barrel and fast mag for me
I find the MMS far more suited to the KSG than the red dot. The fact you can get wallbangs unlike the other shotguns makes this shotgun the stand out choice for the MMS.
You don't have 14 rounds in the chamber. Saying magazine was correct. Shotguns like the ksg have tubular magazines. You're obviously not going to have 14 shells in the chamber of a gun.
Sadly the BO2 KSG dosen't have slugs that can go 200m+ like in real life.....
***** good joke
There's a video with a Kel Tec shooting at 200 meters. Don't see why they had to hold this gun back on range.
Long barrel? Sights that increase range?
Matrix Altair sights dont increase range
Colin Perrson you are correct. Sights help you aim your shot. Range has nothing to do with it. Range is to do with gravity irl. In cod it is where the bullet stops hitmarkering.
driftor is trippin the most important attachment to this gun is quick draw. you have to be able to snap onto your targets asap. if you get used to the iron sights quickdraw and long barrel makes this gun really good
the unpredictability of the slug is a real world adaptation of the shotgun slug. They are generally accurate, but i have experienced it myself. I hunt hogs with 12gauge slugs and sometimes but rarely miss and then I'm like wtf? With slugs, pick your favorite ammo and stick with it because it will be more consistent that switching between different ammo manufactures. If anyone cares, that's my two cents
I miss this time
Statistically, I'd say the KSG is the best gun in the game. If you know how to use it, it's very, very good, and will out good pretty much every gun except snipers at long range. However, it is hard to master, so unless you have great accuracy, don't try it
finally someone that makes sense bro I agree ksg is boss
Yeah. Is 1.57 K/D good or bad? If good, you got a PRST. 1 killing the very fabric of the universe.
Ultra Tepig 990 Pretty average. I personally had around a 4.2ish K/D
So you're telling me that your K/D is higher than Optic Scumpii's ? Why don't you challenge him to a 1v1.
I have Gold Camo on the ksg in bo2
I'm impressed at the actual statistics and professionalism with the video. Subscribed.
The reason slugs don't go as far as sniper rifles is because of the weight not because it's "shot from a shotgun"
It could be...
The slug itself is less aerodynamic than say a .308 and there's less gunpowder for propulsion.
bigge1495 no, literally, because it's fired from a shotgun. COD always sets a disappearing point for shotgun projectiles in the games. "because it's fired from a shotgun" is literally the reason.
River Styx Armory - Lmao
bigge1495 and because shotguns are smooth bore
Jeez dude it's been 10 years already?
This is my favourite shotgun in BO2
Mine too, but people will rage if I use it. So for the sake of keeping everyone happy, the R870 MCS is the next best thing
Great point!
the chamber is a part of the barrel that is where the bullet/shell/slug sits while waiting for you to pull the trigger. the TUBE on a shotgun is where the other shells are stored while it waits for you to pump it. otherwise, great video!
Juss sayin, it is a magazine. The tube magazine is just a different style. The magazine is where the bullets/shells are stored, the chamber is the reinforced part or the gun the barrel connects to that holds the cartridge/shell when it is ready to fire. If you had more than 1 shell/cartridge in your chamber the firearm would not work.
Drift0r Chamber is where the round sits before it is fired. You were correct in saying it has a 14 round magazine and if you want to get into it you can say tubular magazine, It is just a tube at the bottom of a shotgun that has a bumper with a spring to push the next round up just like an AR or pistol magazine.
A risk reward shotgun.
It's not really a high risk if you use QuickDraw and Long Barrel with Flak Jacket and lightweight and Scavenger, Toughness with the perk 3 Dexterity.
You ADS fast with this class.
@@rarejitter8485 Yeah I know but it takes time to be skillful of it.
@@keynanmartinez I play max sens in quite a bit of cods and I love Semi Long range shottys.
Wait do I have turn off my aim assist if I get kontrol freeks if im already on max sens.
I miss this game and gun 🥲
In real life the Kel Tec KSG has two tubes to reload, holding 7 rounds each. That's how it holds 14. After running out of one tube, the user in real life would flip a lever in the back and they would be able to feed from the other. This shotgun is one of the few guns that can take the 1 3/4" shells. So each tube could hold 12 making the total 24. The difference between their sizes is not much. On average, if the slug were to go 1350 fps, the smaller ones would do 1300. About the same damage, yet can hold 10 more rounds. Another thing that can be a tactical advantage would be to put one shot type down one tube and a different one down the other. So slug and buck shot. Or even slug and dragons breath. And you just flip the back lever and cycle in what round would be best for the certain real life scenario. I have this gun. A video game just can't do it justice to show how great the gun is in real life.
I like how in real life you can use two different types of shells for example in one tube its slugs and the other its bird shots or regular shells
You have a KSG-12? Tell me, how did you manage to pump it without short-stroking it?
Gevito236 so "extended mag" would give you complimentary "long barrel"
This is my favorite shotgun in cod history (other than the trench gun from waw). My favorite attachments for it is the mms sight, fast reload, and if I want a third attachment I put a laser sight on it. It's a shame there isn't a buckshot attachment for it, but I guess it would outshine the remington if it did. It's also a beast in zombies.
This gun is very overpowered. if it shot straight it would be the best gun in the game.
It's overall power and use depends on the user. If the one holding the gun drank too much coffee or had no sleep, then miss miss miss and die. On the other hand, if the guy's a fully aware sharpshooter, then it's pretty powerful.
William Munny hahaha
I like the way the range on this works out: It's one of the best weapons to use the MMS with, and its effective range is about the same as the MMS's scanning distance.
I think of the ksg as an iron sighted ballista
Dalton G it ads' more quickly tho
Dalton G - For some reason, I aim better with the KSG than the Ballista with iron sights.
for those who are wondering about the accuracy, it still has the shotgun spread like others when aiming down sight except it's a smaller box. this is why they don't always go perfectly straight.
When I was a noob i thought an actual slug came out
Lol XDDDDDDD
+Average Alien, :D
the slug would explode and grime up the barrel
I love the MMS with this gun! Stock, long barrel and MMS is my favourite combination for sure.
And quickdraw
Meh, I honestly don't think it's necessary with stock. If I use stock, I usually end up walking in with my sight up so I can be prepared. Quickdraw relies on your ability to snap on to targets and I think it's far easier with stock :D
+ClubSoda98 each to their own the real challenge is trying only hip fire haha
Laser sight ready!
Who’s here 8 years later
Me now
You're correct in referring to the ammunition storage on the KSG as magazines. They may just be two fixed tubes, but they're still called mags.
How is 12 meters helpful? I don't know how far 12 meters is in a cod.
You can use the ballistic cpu to measure it but you'll have to find a website to convert the units to meters
Westin Mcclister Thanks.
also I've heard the doorways are a meter wide but I'm not completely sure on this - if it is that could give you a good frame of refrence
Westin Mcclister I'll just stick to the cpu one
Think of it as 1 meter equals one 1 yard
you were correct using Magazine, it's just a different type of magazine than most people are used to. It's called a tube magazine, they're commonly found in shotguns and lever action rifles
my ksg hates me :(
The KSG is a Double Tube magazine fed shotgun. under the barrel there are two magazine tubes, and a lever to choose which tube you are loading from. for example you could load one with buckshot and one with slugs and choose to fire slugs or shot
Drift0r, you are actually right. The place where the shells are held is called a magazine like other guns.
I really like the feel of this gun. Even though its very unforgiving if you miss, it makes you feel like such a bad ass when you go on a on killing spree with it. There's just something awesome about all those one hit kills one after another or when you pull off one of those crazy max range headshots. Quickdraw grip is mandatory but other than that the long barrel, silencer, MMS, or laser are all solid.
I can't play shotguns right now, I'm addicted to the swat-556. I'm so in love with it right now. I have not found a better balance of speed and agility in a weapon yet. I don't even use a single attachment and I run my favorite perks because of all the free space in my class. I'm runnin Dex Tough Eng ColdBld with a side of Frag, never even touch my B23R. You rock Driftor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish this thing told me it was a slug shotgun, I remember using this and absolutely hated it cause I'd shoot it like a shotgun and miss completely, this makes everything make so much sense.
The KSG and the M27 are good if you plan on shooting from both the ground and a high place. They're both strong, It takes a few shots with the M27 to kill someone. I prefer those guns to other guns, probably 'cause they're easy to use.
My favorite class set up is KSG with RD Sight and suppressor; Executioner with LS and Suppressor; secondary gunfighter; lightweight; dexterity; and EMP grenade :3
I'd like to see you try it out, it's pretty fun to run with.
Quickdraw, and Adjustable Stock are my favourite attachments for the KSG
I watched every single in depth videos.
Well done!
thanks for the technical details. even as a frequent player, I don't know those details
@ 5:45 , Drift0r says he shouldn't say magazine. Magazine is the correct term. most shotguns use a tube magazine mounted under the barrel. the KSG has two 7-round tube magazines. the chamber is the part of the gun that contains the cartridge or shell during the firing process. extended mags apparently adds 3 shells of capacity to each tube. the occasional inaccuracy problem may be because the KSG probably uses a smoothbore barrel and would be fixed with the use of a rifled barrel.
I absolutely love the ksg. I went 68-4 on carrier with this gun. Plus the diamond coma prob looks the best on this gun then the rest of the shotguns.
Quickdraw + Long Barrel = My favorite! Helps me a lot
The reason for the spotty accuracy its that its basically a musket. The KSG is an unrifled shotgun so the slug doesn't spin, and with bullets its the spin that gives them accuracy.
That is why you have the S12 as a secondary using Overkill, and put red dot with DOT on it, that is blue with a circle, with scavenger, and long barrel on KSG, being unstoppaple, with UAV up, to Orbital, then Lodestar
For the KSG I would recommend laser sight, long barrel, and millimeter scanner or red dot sight
Even though this was posted 2 years ago, i recommend using a silencer, laser sight, and fast mag. I say this because I used that class to get it hold
The way to make the KSG accurate is to move forward when you aim. It makes this become one of the most powerful short range guns in the game ftw.
with the long barrel and red dot sight, the KSG is amazing
I use a lot the KSG so I recommend the attachments, lasersight, long barrel, and stock ( with primary gunfighter)to make it deadlier. I use the perks hardline( if want to get scorestreaks fast) or ghost (flack jacket recommended too), cold blooded or fast hands, and always tactical mask or extreme conditioning with this gun.
Sorry for my bad english. (not american)
That's my favourite, I love this gun
The bottom tube that you load the shells into is still called a magazine. You can only have one shell in the chamber so fast mags is right
thank you driftor your awesome your in dhept series really helped me to get better thank you again
Decided to go for diamond shotguns just a few days ago and ended up getting KSG to golden as the second one. Earlier today I managed to pull off my first Mega Kill (7 kills in a fast succession). Domination on Hijacked, the enemies didn't know what hit them. About the inaccuracy. I play on the PC and I've had insane Lag compensation and Hit Detection problems from the start on all weapons, problems I never had with earlier CoD titles. I just hope that the new engine will fix those.
@Drift0r Just so you know, it is a magazine you're loading rounds into, it's just an internal tube mag. :)
I use this weapon with the millimeter scanner and the fast Mag due to the fact that that helps with the irons and the reloads
driftor you make guns sound so good so that makes me want to go on bo2 and play with the gun and when I get on I suck with it
The KSG is so deadly in close quarter combat games but you have to be pretty good with accuracy to use it well. Pairing it with stock and lightweight you move so dang fast lol
i want them to open up the shell variety in future games, maybe dragonsbreath, buckshot, birdshot, flishette(spelling?), buck n ball, slug, bolo and such, and possibly even Sabot Slugs with a rifled barrel, that shit would be going cross the largest maps and still do massive damage
I use it with quickdraw, long barrel (to extend the one shot kill range) and stock (very important - to be ready for the enemy).
A slug is a round just like the FMJ or hallow points. For most shotguns you can choose how many pellets you want the shell to deliver or you can choose a slug as long as it's the same gauge. You just need to change the choke on the barrel. It's not dumb and I would prefer if they did this with every shotgun. I suggest you do a little research. And seeing how the KSG doesn't always deliver to the correct spot this would suggest a smooth barrel rather than riffled or a riffled choke.
quickdraw vs long barrel is dependant on the map and your playstyle. long barrel will help you in mid to long range combat while quickdraw will help you in short to mid range combat.
Just FYI, the magazine and chamber are not the same.. Magazine is where the shells (shotguns use "shells", rifles and handguns use "rounds") go to be stored in the gun (even in shotguns its called the magazine). The chamber is where the shell is loaded before it is fired. For example, you chamber the shell from the magazine when you pump the fore grip (giggity).
Ksg with long barrel,Red dot,and Quick draw
I use Suppresor, Quickdraw, and Ext Mags, on this weapon with the perks Ghost, Toughness, and Dexterity+Dead Silence, it works well for me, suppressor keeps me off the radar in case I miss a shot, which will happen, Quickdraw, lets me ADS faster, because I found hipfire, even with laser sight to be annoying, and Ext Mags, due to the almost lack of need to reload.
The tube on a shotgun is referred to as the magazine not chamber. Chamber is the place on a firearm were the bullet is fed and extracted when the weapon is fired. The cylinder on a revolver is considered a chamber. Good vid
My fav gun in cod, loved this thing
for me it feels like the ksg reloads and pumps faster then the 870, actually for me the ksg is a straight upgrade.
Once you unlock QuickDraw with this gun, paired this up with laser sight and you are entering beast mode with this weapon! This is pretty much my favorite shotgun in the game :)
i miss bo2 Sadge
Agreed, the quick draw is perhaps the only must have attachment for this weapon. Everything else you can get away with skipping.
I have tested it out, and it is a laser. It may not seem to be extremely accurate if you are strafing, because that significantly lowers the accuracy (it's like strafing with a sniper). Other that that, this gun is a beast!
The problem is, with the 870 you still have a chance that at least some pellets will hit the target.
With the KSG if you miss (and even with the Laser it is still a huge possibility) you are basically dead since most people use high damage guns like the MSMC, AN94 or KAP40.
So, if you want to play with the KSG, Quickdraw + Long Barrel is a way to go.
you know that patch that there was a few days ago the one that fixed the swat with full auto, they helped they buffed the ksg's weird aim
Loved the KSG. I used Silencer with Red Dot, still had a decent 2 shot kill range.
This gun is best with Long Barrel, Quickdraw Handle, and Laser Sight (the ironsights on this gun are pretty good, but since sights actually do add accuracy, sometimes I'll put on the reflex or MMS sights instead of the laser)
Acually slugs are rifled and shotguns are smooth bore so the slug being rifled gives it a little bit of more range and more accuracy at medium range
it may be a lil over powered but that's just because of the slug it fireds bug half the the tim u don't get a second shot off due to the pump action. Fantastic gun in experienced hands
It always shoots where you aim, but your problem is because you have no quickdraw. Quickdraw is essential and if you equip this the shots will always go where you want it to go. I use the ksg and I've had a lot of merciless medals just using the ksg, also on big maps. These are the attachments I use: Long Barrel, Quickdraw and Reflex. Trust me, if you get the hang of it and know how to not run around in open fields this thing dominates
Long Barrel and Red Dot. Best range and clean sight. I'll say that the Red Dot Sight is plausible if you don't like the Irons or if you're doing the Red Dot Sight challenge. Then again, the Irons are pretty good after all. The KSG is good with every attachment available or with none at all, making it very versatile. I personally haven't used the KSG in a looooong time because found that I was getting rage quits and players were raging out at me because of it. So I enjoy this gun at my own risk.
use it with red dot triangle sight. and long barrel. very good range for a shotgun, now my favorite.
I just... love this gun.. Got it diamond, with long barrel laser, ghost, fast hands, cold blooded, dexterity, a tomahawk and shockerz
i use the ksg with long barrel and quick draw handle i prefer ironsights because it makes it look nicer. Very good gun got a kill chain of 8 yesterday the ears on a chain looks beast.
This is my fav gun in bo2 i use it with long barrel quickdraw(very important) and laser sight i get easily stealth choppers with this gun
Magazine is the right term for a shotgun (magazine tube(s) to be exact). Saying chamber is totally wrong. Love your videos. Greetings
Y'gotta keep in mind, this is a .729 caliber bullet being fired out of a shotgun shell. The farther away the target is, the less of that force is gonna hit the target. Up close it's gonna put all your insides on the outside, and IRL even at 50-100 yards it's still gonna ruin your day, but, say, 150? That hunk of metal is goin' into the ground.
The iron sights are great. I actually like the laser sight on it even though people rave that you need to ADS every time that's only true at longer ranges without laser sight. Laser sight gives you a lot more flexibility up close and gives you a chance against those damn 870 users in CQ.
Don't worry, you were right. It is a magazine. Even if it weren't, it would be a clip, which holds the ammo without a spring, for example the M1 Garand. The chamber is where the shot that will be fired when you pull the trigger is.
I think this gun is very powerful, but at the same time, this is the most difficult gun for me. I've watched this particular video for 4 or 5 times already at my different prestige rounds, and I think I finally understand most of the things Drift0r mentioned this time. :-)
The long barrel should work the same way it works on the SMGs which basically just make it do max damage longer so it should theoretically increase your one-shot distance.
Did some testing and Reflex sight with long barrel increases its one shot kill distance something fierce. No other combination of attachments seem to do anything. Ill go ahead and throw a laser sight on it tho for it though
I'm actually a big fan of the silencer on the KSG. I find my misses to go unnoticed more often than not, or even if they are noticed, people run for cover rather than turning toward me because they don't realize I'm standing right next to them.
this is the best gun ever , i train using this , and i greatly increase my kd , this thing does a lot damage and the first shotgun with a very long distance.
Funny enough I was just about to say the same thing.
I'll add that the KSG uses twin tubular magazines, which is why it holds 14 shotshells.
ksg best class setup (feel free to customise this) :)
Perk 1 :Ghost
Perk 2 :scavenger and toughness
Perk 3 : Extreme conditioning
KSG
attachment 1:MMS
attachment 2:Long Barrel
Attachment 3:fast mag/extended mags
Secondary:None (you can easly pick a gun off the ground) Lethal:Any
Tactical:Shockcharge/flashbang
Wild cards: Perk 2 greed
Battle Ooze you need primary gunfighter wildcard for 3 attachments
I always use Quickdraw, Stock, and (if you want) long barrel.
quickdraw and stock is something i always need
KSG is pretty much one of the best shotguns in BO2 but it's damn hard to use. It took me a long time to get used to it and I still have some problems getting hits with it. I think it's pretty balanced weapon in the end and I don't see any reason why people complain about it. Best way to avoid getting shot by KSG is to stay out of it's 1-shot range and keep moving.
