Damn, I'm genuinely shocked by how story 2 ended. I didn't really clock the age gap in the beginning, but when the first part ended with the guy saying "It motivates me to find more things you'll like", that sounded really sweet and sincere! It looked like they were gonna have a happy ending, but that did not happen. Damn.

The guy said he read the book 10 years ago... He wasn't a teen back then but 27 yo. So you know all you need to know. He was faking it to trap her. Any adult who likes that kind of books is a red flag for a woman.

Childhood nostalgia > modern politics every time. I'll never stop liking Harry Potter, and the people that try to get me to only make me like it more. Not everything is about politics or politically motivated, and it's a completely infantile mindset to believe otherwise and hyper focus on it. Reading a childrens book in the privacy of your own home is not a crime and not a political act.

Dude, a fantasy literature class I took in high school assigned this book as reading, and even then I remember thinking that it was WILD. Almost all of the girls were uncomfortable with it, some of us guys were as well, and some of the boys loved it. The part that really got me was the effing ending lol, because the main character avoids his wife when she's ugly and annoying during her "period", but then she becomes beautiful and stupid later in the month so he comes back and porks her during those 2 weeks because that's when he can "tolerate her company". The book is absolutely INSANE, i'm dying of laughter just typing this shit.

I've always been in customer facing jobs- had a boy follow me home from work (I didn't see him follow, I was on the bus) then start leaving notes and really weird gifts on my door. Gifts like abstract painting he did that just looked like random brush strokes, a potted tree, and love letters.
I got a new job, but he already knew where I lived. I started having a man from work give me rides home, and this guy was a big guy in good shape.. he was also married and nothing was going on between us, he just was giving me rides home for my safety. The stalker boy thought we were 'together' when I let him come in and use the bathroom, and stalker boy tried jumping him outside my house.
He held the stalker back by putting his palm on stalkers forehead and just holding him at arms length, he was about 2 1/2 the size of stalker boy. It was just like a freaking Bugs Bunny cartoon. Stalker boy got scared of him and ran off, I called the cops (I'm sure he saw them arrive) and I never saw that boy again... thank god because I was young and didn't carry back then.

Just because the family is traditional in their thinking does not mean it's yours. If they are staring, so what? Stare back and ask with a ATTITUDE and a hand on your cocked hip ," What is your problem and Do you really think I care "? Then go about your day as if they are difficult children or tell the hubby your ready to go. DONT let them brow beat you, and for heavens sake don't just "keep the peace " crap. I’m sorry but this made me so very angry. I swear I’m going to write a book about families and the entire thing will say: “Do not guilt trip anyone to do anything by saying it’s for family. If it’s for the family, what is preventing *you* from doing whatever it is? And the moment you start using excuses, your point is invalid.”
The book will be 300 pages long with that sentence typed over and over and *over* again! Nothing irritates me more than when people constantly use blood ties to manipulate others to do whatever they want.
No, that person doesn’t owe you anything. No, that person should not have to put their lives on hold for you, and most importantly I don’t care if you birthed them, they did *not* ask you to do so, and yet again, they don’t owe you a d*mn thing for them being here. It actually sounds like you had the child so that you could have control over someone, not out of any sort of love.
And I want to remind you of something very, very important: you are getting older faster than that family member, eventually you’ll need someone to take care of you. I want you to remember that fact the next time you try to manipulate that family member. Because one day, you’re gonna wake up alone and miserable with only the nurses to be by your side and the forever wonder why no one visits you. Just some food for thought.

OP with the sister trying to force her to babysit- she needs to tell the family "Im not qualified to watch a child with autism" this will both give herself an out, and piss off sister enough maybe sister will leave her alone, since sister is so ablest against autism. Sister is pissed you're not babysitting anyway, so may as well go all in and piss her off enough that she doesn't WANT you watching the kid. That mother is going to hurt her child psychologically because she's refusing to acknowledge his condition and she's delusional.

    • @indigowulf

For the woman with the step kids, and parents that keep walking in... petition for custody and child support, prove the kids live with you. Also, get the parents busted for trespass any time they enter your home without permission. Even if you can't afford to actually get a lawyer and go to court, simply started the custody/child support petition will get things going, I bet big money the ex doesn't have the cash for a lawyer either. If she is having trouble getting it to the courts, APPLY FOR WELFARE/food stamps. List the kids as your sole dependents. This WILL solve your problem because DSHS hates giving you money if there's another parent you could get money from instead. DSHS will go after them for you. And they are pitbulls.

Piers Anthony Xanth books are silly and full of puns. The first books were written in the 70s. Another time. The fans sent in ideas to use in the books and if he used the idea, he gave credit to those fans. Piers actively communicated with his fans a lot. One of his fans, was a dying child. He wrote back and forth with her for months and turned her into a heroine in one of his books. He wrote 39 books in the Xanth series. He's published about 50 books in total. Give his books a chance. Read the books and you might find how the characters mature and change their attitudes by the end of the books.
