    About being fired though. The previous employer can't discuss the exact reasons why you were let go. They can only say you were terminated. Because you can sue for damages caused by what they say. What's stopping me from calling the former employer and getting the HR dept or whoever to say negative things about me from getting another job. Especially since it's all hear-say, and not proof of who you are. I can sue for liable and slander.

    Good information and advice about how to answer this tricky question. But I wish the narrator was more focused on the content than flipping her hair and making faces at the camera.

    The job environment I was in didnt fit me,I didnt get the help from colleagues I needed, wat resulted in my performance being too low for my boss, how do I say that without saying "Im a lazy fuck"?

    Why did you leave a past employer? "Because I was making less than the average salary; was making what was considered low income and my employer did not provide health insurance. As I could not afford health insurance before turing 26 in the next year, I felt is was best to switch jobs." Honesty, but not sure that would fly in an interview. The problem with interviews is that you are expected to give politically correct answers even if those answers are not truly truthful.

    Thanks for this great video. I have been fired recently for poor performance and in the interview they always try to get into deeper questions about the reason why, I was fired because I lacked an important skill (attention to detail) which I have improved but not enough for my previous employer. However, it is a very important skill to have in content/ digital marketing and I am not sure how to professionally show that I can improve and continue to work in the same field.
    Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Thanks :)

    What if you need a job for the experience it gave you.
    But they paid you the incorrect wage amount and mentally and emotionally manipulated and abuse you and discriminated against you.
    I cant just say I was discriminated against, which is honestly messed up.
    But im sure if they do call they most likely will shut talk me, even tho I worked extremely hard there.

      Sounds like a very toxic workplace. I had one and I still have bitter feelings about it. I recommend reviewing what happened in your old job to yourself and not blaming yourself, but get a new job and keep an open mind to your new workplace. Some places are very strict about treating employees with respect so there is hope.

    I would not hire anyone with these responses because they are canned responses. Instead of telling me what I need to hear you are telling an employer what they want to hear.

    • @kahariereese2772
      @kahariereese2772 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Seems like a damned if you do damned if you dont; if I told an employer the real reason I'm looking for a job (money) they'd never hire me. it's not what they're looking for. I've copied and pasted these responses for many interviews and havent had a problem with a single one, I've only had problems when I try honestly explaining a situation and my reason for looking for a job, employers really don't like hearing the only reason you're there is for the money and you couldn't give less of a shit about their "culture" or "second family" or whatever other corporate bullshit they pedal.
