@@MuhammadBinZafar1 Indeed. A challenging one for me. How to frame that in a positive light? I'm definitely going to have to rehearse that one a bit. 😏
Or course, not to trash your former employer. But I don’t agree with the suggested answer either. It’s easy to see through the mention of other members of the team leaving. I would see this also as an oblique criticism and a hint that you are running away. When recruiting, I want to see the candidate wanting to work with us because of how we are, not because of how their old workplace is. Also, the suggested answer doesn’t sound natural to me. It sounds like something learned off by heart and fake. Best way to be is yourself, and without any negative talk. You can always find positive reasons for wanting to work in the new company. If you can’t, you shouldn’t apply.
Don't beat yourself up if you don't get a job because it is very competitive nowadays. One opening job, there are too many applicants. Also, some hiring managers like males more than females or vice versa or they like some certain race. We don't know what they are thinking. Getting a job also depends on luck.
Unfortunately, not luck, as much as deeply rooted prejudice sometimes. We know there are laws against discrimination in the workplace. I would say 99% of the discrimination that happens in relation to work, goes under wraps, in a very tight, interpersonal sphere, be clearly perceived (or at least felt, somewhat) by the recipient, and still, not be accounted for, in a way that can be brought to the surface. There are people who have already half dismissed an applicant before he / she enters the room, based on their last name.
Yeah, total discrimination, which is highly illegal but difficult to prove, and totally (and ironically) encouraged with all the DEI bullcrap companies are pushing these days. It should be about qualifications and personality, NOT superficial crap like gender, skin color, etc. 🤬
