A very riveting (& emotional) episode. I always liked Stan. You never know if a friend or a co-worker is hiding some secret such as that. Our radio stations largely ignored this song ( it stalled at #63) Then I heard it in this episode and bought the 45 (which I still have today) Stan could sure wreck the joint, LOL.
Stan was a force of nature! It is probably my favorite episode of the show, showing a person whose job was likely tremendously stressful cope with it in a very human way. Crockett and Tubbs were written too impeccable. Zito and Swaitek were the human detectives.
Music monatges are commonplace on film and TV now and it is easy to forget they were groundbreaking in Vice. I prefer the Vice with dialogue and noises to the originals and have previously recorded them for my ipod. Lost Madonna and Fruit of the Poison Tree are my favourite music episodes and I have them both audio only.
like ep 1 & 2 they were good as well and the last one in 4 where Crockett turned he was good at it made a good bad guy lol i have all 5 seasons all are very awesome
I think the message is that no matter what, your friends are there to back you up. The scene with Sonny consoling him was very moving. I remember an episode when someone had a nasty comment about the Vice squad and Sonny said that he and the rest of the team practically breathe for each other
