If anyone wants to watch my video on Season 2 of Miami Vice (and eventually also Season 3 - Season 5) you'll probably need a VPN if you're from the US or Canada otherwise it won't appear in the playlist due to it being blocked by TH-cam (in these countries).
EXACTLY..........I completely agree............this show STILL gets me going etc and I,m 55 now..............was absolutely GLUED to this back then..........the music, ALL the cast, inc supporting actors/actresses.......what EVER they did they got it RIGHT............just something about this show that put others in the shadows...............
My husband bought me the box set and asked me why I love this show so much. I told him that you can’t really explain the attraction to anyone who never watched it back in the 80’s. Sadly, he did not. The emotions are so powerful watching these episodes again. They are timeless. Miami Vice invented cool tv. 😎No explanation necessary! 💕💕
@@m1lst3r89 Hi there. Interesting perspective, but DJ and PMT were very woman friendly. LOL. Seriously, though, I never felt Miami Vice was geared toward one specific gender. The show was so innovative and fresh; no one had seen a series done like that before or since. But, of course, I’m biased. 😉
@@susancioffi1845 the way I see it, but I want to say first that sex appeal of the leads rarely appeals to me, which DJ and PMT probably have for opposite genders. But in Miami Vice, characters they play that is, often come into these situations that shows how terrible luck with women they had (women often come as treacherous or die by being involved with them). As the series itself, it is no different from other police series at the time. The only difference is ofcourse is that it put a lot on the style. Which somehow I think it works the best if you are in teenage years (I am not anymore but fondly remember the show from those years). Cool visuals, cars, clothings, and the music. Because I love 1980s decade a lot.
Yes, the show viewed a bit differently through my 20 year old eyes, but it has aged well for me through all the years. Hollywood knows that sex appeal equals high ratings and they have always used it, especially today. They didn’t want their two leads to be with just one lady but they didn’t want them to appear as “players” either so the women had to be temps. But, that aside, as you say, the difference is in the style. Vice was so innovative in its use of aesthetics that it set trends. So many men threw away their socks 🧦.lol. And the phenomenal music…Phil Collins, Dire Straits, etal. Outstanding. (Yes, I am a die hard Vice fan). I, too loved the 80’s with all its iconic style and fun. 👍
@@susancioffi1845 frankly, now that you mentioned, I actually feel adversial toward Hollywood insistence on sex appeal, which just serves to delude people into thinking they can look the same. When I look at movie stars, either male or female, they all look like they came from a Vogue shoot. Miami Vice in a way is continuation of Starsky & Hutch, TV show that epitomized 1970s (some people that worked on S&H worked on Miami Vice), just two cops, male cops, although I don't see any wrong if Miami Vice had one female co-lead, although there were two females in the regular cast. And yes, it did offered a lot of new anesthetics, although I understand if it can be dated for some. I also don't wear socks (but not because of MV😂), but I think yes it broke new ground with fashion, music and cars! Oh yes, Phil Collins but there were so many great tracks in. Oh, you like the 80s too?

Man, I was a kid in the 80's, loving Miami Vice and the whole 80s scene. This vid was excellent and the Phil Collins sound track gave me those late night goosebumps and vibes watching this. Its so strange how time is and how something like this can take you back, even just for a few minutes. Being a teenager into the 90's, I still preferred the 80s! Something about that time frame, the music, clothes and shows that nothing else can compare to. Hell, I remember being fascinated with laser tag and then nintendo! Unreal, my brothers and sisters of the 80s!!! Truly the best times!
A metaphoric looking glass to the 80’s & halcyon days ..When everything was simpler, tolerant & ostensibly happy ..This track just resonates so much ♥️🙏🏼
Miami Vice is one of my favorite TV shows of all time and Season 1 is my absolute favorite from the series. This was a brilliant montage. Long live Miami Vice and the '80's! Nearly 38 years after it's premiere Miami Vice still holds up extremely well!!
Being a black kid in the 80’s, I loved this show. Crockett was the man, but Tubbs was my idol. That man always looked smooth, dapper and well dressed. His character was deep, my favorite episode was the one where he lost a woman he cared about and the son he he just met to Calerone… that was hard.
Miami Vice was perfect for the time it aired. And my boy Phil Collins with all the music scores was excellent for the show. If we had real cops that could work like that in the real world crime would be a thing of the past. S. Crockett and R. Tubbs character's we're a joy to watch back then. And they dressed the part to the T!!!!!. I have box sets and anytime it air's I'm there. And let us not forget. Gina and Trudy were beautiful ladies and fly as hell. And cool calm and no joke Lt. M. Castillo was on point and not to be messed with. And Stan the man and Zito were just cool and funny but they didn't take any bull from anyone. It was a great TV show. Because I dressed like that back then when I was stepping out for the night life. That's why I can relate can you feel it. Bless the 80's.
This the soundtrack of my 20’s. I was a young soldier stationed around the states and the world for the entire run of the show. They influenced my style, and my choices in music, and cars. BMW , CamaroZ28. Thanks for the music, style, and memories. I still watch the reruns on streaming TV.
What can I say? I really miss watching the reruns that came on weekdays like 11:30pm. This isn't the 1st time I commented on this great show, the great actors, the uniqueness of it all. Don, I get lost for words when I think of how much you put into your character. I just watched "Harley Davidson & the Marlboro Man" again. I can see thru the characters u play, that u are a very special & yes handsome man.
Excellent job, man. Oh, the memories!!!!!! I just got the Blu-Ray collection. Damn, the first two seasons had some iconic episodes, moments that really made you think, damn, did I really just see that?
Top Top Top.
Excellent show, and car's and boat's!!!!! And don't forget, the eye candy to look at,🔥🔥🔥🔥!!!!!! From The Motor City, where we know CAR'S!!!!! 🥀🥀🥀🥀.....
On Friday nights while in college, my twin brother and I would fry up some chicken nuggets and French fries. We would turn out the lights in our apartment and watch Miami Vice in the dark. It was appointment TV. We never missed an episode.
Great fuckin call by all of u! I'm 48 and vice, Nash bridges and the band U2 have always been my favs. I know peeps hate U2 and I get it but my favorite Irish lad is Larry Mullen Jr who is the coolest most humble man who gave the rest of these lads ther first job
It's hard to explain what the experience of Miami Vice was like, to people who didn't watch the show live. It was a different time. We had much fewer options in entertainment, and much less access to trends. If something stuck, it stuck hard. The show was bigger than anything we experience now. It changed fashion. It changed attitudes. It built on the relatively new combination of music and video. Such a huge segment of the population was affected, and the reaction was largely uniform. That kind of thing just doesn't happen anymore. Even huge shows like GOT or LOST don't have the same impact. Too much competition for attention. There are too many options out there for one source of entertainment to take over the American landscape like MV did. Even in centrally located, largely rural states like Arkansas and Iowa, malls were full of Sonny Crockett suits, bright Miami colors, shoes without socks, and sunglasses worn indoors.
Es cierto, yo tampoco pude recordarlos a todos antes de revisarlos para hacer el video. Traté de hacer como un mini resumen de la primera temporada. De hecho voy a hacer lo mismo con las otras temporadas cuando tengo el tiempo.
