I like where the aluminum runs down the outside and almost to his foot.
You should really get some safety equipment.
or just build a "moat" with sand around the hill to prevent it running beyond an enclosed area..
Try not to put the cold metal in the crucible with the hot metal. It could boil out and burn you or explode. Viewers may not know that. Great job.
I know other casting sights warn about that. Plus stress correct equipment.
Please use proper protection and a crucible, not a can. Be safe!
I just hope he did it off camera.
wrrr
Please state something so we can pretend we aren’t adults and can make our own choices. Yes I’m being sarcastic but I’m also being a complete ass because I’m sick of seeing people comment “ please do this because it’s not safe!” On every metal melting channel on TH-cam. Guess what ? people learn one way or the other and tbh if they learn the hard way, well, natural selection and all that.
Ant 1: I really love this community we have built through hard work. Wow I'm so amazed at our ability to work together as one!
Ant 2: Yes, it seems too good to be true.
Ant 3: What's that noise outside?..............
thanks
Ant 1 and 2: I don’t know
Ant 3 and 4: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THERES MOLTEN LAVA IN HERE
EVERYONE: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Queen: why is everyone screaming??

Are you totally tocked id say ya...? Forkin preheat your metals or boom boom will happen from water vapors, make sure the ground is really dry prior, if in a humid climate wait 5 days since last rain. Damn i think your tocked dude you need to do more research before you try this
@@joney5106 there is no rain since a month
Nearly six minutes of watching aluminum melt. Wow! I'm excited.
thanks
I don't think he understood the sarcasm, I actually enjoyed the next minute or so of him pouring the aluminium over the sides and not in the hole.
And the best part other than this being a one of a kind sculpture is that you now got rid of a bunch of pesky ants in the process.
haha
they probably arent even an invasive species, and if they are then this is condoned but if its just like native ants this is a bad choise for the near by ecosystem
Cool video. It's wild how this specie of ant actually cut corners into their tunnels. Every other specie has rounded/smooth tunnels.
it is wild specie of ants
@@SwordBoy ima call BS
@@mrpowdercoater Money ant? Look up words before you misspell and misuse them publicly. "Specie" is money. "Species" refers to an organism.
Yea. Literally no ants on the mound or anything. Plus ants don't make hills like that. That was packed dirt. I have 3 dif types of ant colonies and have had tons of dif farms (all inspired by ants canada) and this is very fake. But why not just find a ant farm some where? Unless there r none where he lives.
@@dont-touch-mepg1392 bro, obviously he loves ants and you don't, forever.
That’s an insane result! Really cool!
Well, most of my time wasted watching aluminum melt and the mound cool off....... About 1 minute of what we really want to see.
thanks
@Kilo Byte shut up
Terrible casting i won't be subscribing
You are correct. Not safe!!
That seems harsh.
Hi. I think your doing great. Steel toed boots, fire gloves, face shiel. Heat aluminum and any molds PRIOR to using them. Industrial stainless steel spoon for slag. We all learn. Great video. Please stay safe and healthy and take care of yourself and your family members . To all members also. Talk to you later my friend. ☺☺☺😇😇😇

It’s interesting . I thought that the conduits would go further down below the mound’s height.
IT GOES UNTIL down the last room of ant house
Is it possible to reclaim the aluminium that runs down the outside?
Bro literally made a ant Colony into a Volcano 🔥💀🔥
It's really look like some Disney's castle 🏰
no , its look like volcano
Make sure you pre hear the bars before adding, also, add a bar then let it melt in, and repeat....if too much “cold” is added all at once it’ll take longer to heat it all up
The preheating I get.
But why would it take longer when adding a lot of cold material? Heat capacity stays the same, and a colder sample might even warm quicker because the temperature gradient is bigger perhaps, right?
@@landsgevaer wrong. Think of it like frying bacon… if you heat your pan and put some bacon in, leaving room for more, then add more cold bacon after the first part is half done and continue to cook in this method it will take less time to cook than, say, fill and fry, remove and replace. It has to do with thermal transference, rates of heat absorption vs heat output. I don’t have a doctorate in thermal engineering or anything, but just enough of it to explain in simple terms
@@elizabethwatson71 I would still hypothesize that the amount of net heat that is transferred into the metal per unit time is bigger when the metal is cool (bigger temperature gradient, less thermal radiation loss, etc.; in the most extreme case: if you added metal that already was at a final heated equilibrium temperature, it would not heat up at all anymore, so the hotter it gets, the slower it heats up). All in all, since the amount of heat that needs to be absorbed by the metal is fixed, it would be quicker.
So I still don't get it. Not that I necessarily disbelieve the claim, but I don't grasp why it would be true. The analogy with bacon in a frying pan doesn't help me here (even if it were a close analogy, I don't understand that either, I fear). I'm merely trying to understand the process.
@@landsgevaer have you ever put ice cubes in water?
@@BarronVonSchnoot You pre-heat your ice cubes? 🙂
Jeez, Half of the video is just melting aluminum.
brother video is starts from a starting point and ends at ending point
It generally takes about 25 minutes to bring a foundry to aluminum melting temperatures. Then adding more aluminum takes time to melt. He cut out a lot of melting time for this video. The pour itself is about 3 minutes vs the hour or so to melt the aluminum and then an hour or more to carefully dig out and clean the sculpture. This video likely took 3-4 hours to record.
You can really tell who knows what they’re doing and who doesn’t
It looks like a thousand year old Dragon that's only now been unearthed as a one of a kind missing art piece from the Edu dynasty.

Nice work done
Nice Amezing 👍👍👍

Its was super looking and you are creative and best you have put hardwork congratulations.
Thank you so much 😀
How did you melt alluminium
I don't know how I missed this video. I love to watch these casting videos. BTW, what is the title of the song at the beginning of the video? It sounds like great drone flying music. Not bad for a second video. Now I need to check if you have more . . . 🤠
How many ants died in this casting project? It looks very cool but, I still feel relly bad. 😔
Don't though. It's fake. He made it.
i can totally hear the nature over the music
Thank you for the video
You're welcome
Cool but aren’t you hurting those ants
Nice i like it

Very cool! This is somthing I would love to try!!!

Too much time on melting the aluminium and too much wastage of the molten metal going down the side of the anthill. Impressive ant hill though.
Oh my God that's a damn silver lava volcano I would like to try it too

I think that everyone should start turning ants into art works putting in museums
uhh dude that would be horrible for the whole world we need ants for seed dispersal etc
Worst comment ever
U go hell bruh
Why not use that stuff that starts out as clear colourless liquid and then solidifies and is like see through glass instead . That way you capture all the creatures in the next as they are
Help I’ve been binge watching these videos
That was one of the worst pours I’ve ever seen 😅
No ants were harmed in the making of this video.
it is absolutely terrifying
How can you just kill an entire colony of ants?
im pretty sure the ant nest was abandoned
True
Because they are pests especially fire ants.
@@fabricosta9488 i think you mean their invasive
Easy, with aluminum.
never seen tunnels with corners, cool
These are artificial ant tunnels, made by a human.
What is this? A Pompeii for ants?
Quit simply....yes

thanks bro
Ants is good artists
I wonder when the ant colony says " Ah Shit, We're DOOMED! "
forager ants coming back to the nest after it was cast be like

they said "oh no the cast turn too volcano"😱
Nice
No ants were harmed in making of this video
You aluminum has reacted the sand and comprised the tunnels. Which is why they look so big and grainy. Maybe try and locate an ant nest in the ground. You will get a better result with the hard mud, rather than the mixture these ants are using above ground.
Just because a creature us small does not mean it does not suffer like a larger creature. Boiling ants to death is simply cruel.
What type of ants are they
This is the reason why ants played a huge impact in our oldern architecture. Jaggeries (vellam) are blended as mixture while constructing house, This invites ants to penetrate there to search for sweet jaggeries as their food. While searching, they construct a house for themselves and also keep our house strong by its sand collection.
nice saying
@@SwordBoy ya thanks.

The video was really good but I’m not liking that result. The castings are usually very beautiful but this doesn’t appeal to me at all I’m sorry to say. I’d be inclined to melt it down and try again.

Er, you DID preheat those ingots before adding them to the melt? Fully open crucible + steam explosion - death mask cast of yourself.
Bro i had weared the face mask gloves and shoes ,all them are fire proof
@@SwordBoy Those do not look like fireproof and those pants appear to be polyester which will melt to your legs really easily. You are also not wearing gloves during the pour while you used pliers to hold your can. But he was referring to preheating your ingots before placing them into the liquid aluminum. Judging by the coffee can crucible you are smelting on a budget. Be safe and remember, you can't skin graft fingers so if you burn off all your skin on your hands the best you can hope for are skin mittens.

Mama said its not good to kill ants
What a volcano 🌋🌋🌋
Experiment is good but inside living ants are dead 😭😢
Peace to theses brave Ants who sacrified themselves for us
This is violence for nature things. The ant 🐜 nest is very, very sensible, and they collect and store the food in underground. This is not art... Don't be like this chilly kind of videos.
Bet the survivors call this the silver fire day
I Can,t understand
What if a alien come and poor hot matter from a star on the earth. It can happen. I've seen it before.
thanks for ur reaction
Relaxing nature unless you’re one of the ants…
The thing is you desttroyed an new ant nest bc the workers has to work hard you had to sleep days and come back and burn the nest and you well see the nest is big
I'm calling this as a hoax. That wasn't a real anthill (the hill was fake, anthills have very fine grains surrounding them), and there should have been all sorts of gasses coming out when hot metal was poured in. Plus, the end result is pretty obviously not believable.
Super!
Greetings from Roztocze of Poland!
Did he almost burned his feet?
my shoes are heat proof
wow... It's like a dragon. But the ants no have the home now... 😞
It is abandoned from a long time
then 10 minutes to see the aluminum melt! at this point you could also take us to the quarry where the stones and rocks are taken! 🤭😅😅😅⚾️⚾️ think if a giant came to your house and poured a nice hot aluminum truck over your house and onto you! would you be happy? I do, but at your home !😳🤔😅 good job brò ! 👏👏👏👏

It is not real, because the liquid cannot reach everywhere. Ants are smart and calculate the rain so as not to be submerged in water😊

You are using a CAN for a crucible??????
Agreed!!!
Could've used concrete, so as not to fry half of the structure. The Aluminium, or any molten metal would damage the structure, shame really.
