I hope apple can make macbook pro as tough (shock-resistant) as HP elitebook x360 1030 g2(which has touch screen, stylus, privacy sure view...but lack of battery life and Good apple OS ) I have both. I always hate that windows issues. Intel cpu are hot and eat too much battery life. Apple has better balance, and never force you update when you really doing something important.
That's largely still a risk with a conventional laptop. To me this seems much more conventional than say these plastic foldable OLED screens with a giant grease is and scratch at level two. That's why I think dual screens make more sense then foldable OLED screens
That’s why you buy the insurance-it’s a $2k+ laptop. It’s definitely more durable than a foldable device, but there’s an awful lot of screen to get scratched, cracked, etc.
I've watched a ton of these 9i reviews, and this is the best one I've seen. You talk about so many things, possibilities, flaws and comparisons that other review videos just don't. Actually saying what brightness level you used to test the battery and giving specific details about use while testing it--awesome. I am using the 9i right now and love it, but I 100% would say that, except for the multiple screens, Macs are better. Personally, on just battery power, I would mainly like to use this to stream videos, and when I have tried that it was obvious I wasn't going to get the 6-7 hour battery life people keep mentioning for this, no matter the brightness level.
Not sure if I'd take the OLED screen, but this is definitely in my wish list. As someone who currently daily driving an LG V50 with its detachable Dual Screen case after selling the Samsung Galaxy Fold, dual display is always more practical than foldable screen.
@@erickdelatorre186 So much better than my old foldable phone. I like the fact that I can easily use any two apps simultaneously without worrying about screen splitting incompatibility. Easily the best video review I've seen for the 9i and I've seen quite a few. Kinda reminds me of my MS surface duo which I now love. I want one but for $2000 I don't know if I could justify it
It's actually a pretty good device and perfect for me as a student, so much that I was thinking of selling my current laptop and Tab S8 to buy it. Until I noticed that its price starts at $2099 🙂
The price makes sense even though it’ll hurt to buy one. Dual 2.8K OLED displays, the latest Ryzen mobile CPU, a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD and a stylus+Bluetooth keyboard-it’s stacked. I’ve been waiting for a device like this for 15+ years ever since I got my first tablet-an HP convertible with a swiveling display. They won’t sell a lot of these, but I think it’ll be popular enough for a second-gen device.
@Yellow Flash Of the Leaf I think Lenovo should make an affordable version of it, maybe 1TB HDD with 256GB SSD and 1080p display, and less powerful CPU. I think they will sell a lot more. The students will buy the affordable version. Designers and content creators will buy the version with the higher specs.
That is cool and appears that it could be a very productive device. With OpenAI tech now being a norm (almost), that split screen allows enough size to do work on side, while the other can get assistant from outside app, like making webpages for example. The larger visuals would definitely make for seeing the details without having to zoom in on one screen laptops. The downsides can be dismissed if used for split screen use in the propped-up setting. This may be a device you could review again for certain uses, especially in html/coding productivity.
You can call me a wtch but I saw this in a dream years ago. It was super fast and popular device in my dream lol. When I saw it, I was like, wait a minute, I have already seen this.
As a student, this is my dream laptop. I currently use a Surface Pro 8 for taking notes and doing exercices (pen) and use a big chonky gaming PC as a second monitor. With this i'll be able to write down AND see the data for exercises at the same time for much less weight and cables
did you happen to purchase this computer??? If so, I'm curious how it's working out. We are in very similar circumstances as I too am in school and use a surface pro w/ 2nd monitor.
Great video! I think this laptop makes good use of the two screens. The more screens and use cases the better in my opinion. How does the performance compare to the Galaxy Book you reviewed? I'd love to see a comparison. I could definitely see myself using one of these for programming.
This is probably the best overview/review so far on this unit. At $2100, it's hard to get over the screens only being 60hz and a mobile Intel chip. The software looks buggy and with Lenovo's history of support, I doubt there will be further widgets or optimization.
that might happen, yes. I own both predecesors and would like to see lenovo supporting it better. on the other hand this 9i is for the first time a more nornal one - in line witb all the fodables, just without the folding thing - so it might be that lenovo is going to sell it way better
But the only really specialized customer software you need is when you're using the keyboard on the bottom screen. Otherwise, windows is long been able to handle two separate screens because people do it all the time in a desktop setting. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't spend $2,100 on any laptop but at this point it's mostly just proof of concept. But this makes way more sense to me than like a foldable OLED phone which are getting so much attention. There's definitely two separate conversations here which is do you think is particular product is a worthy investment. Do you think this concept is worthwhile endeavor.
Even the refresh rate wouldn't bother me too much here because this is not going to be a gaming machine. But I don't know I've never been particularly bothered by 60 Hz screens on mobile devices. In fact I found the first time I moved up to a 120 Hz tablet and phone to be incredibly underwhelmed. People had explained that it would be a transformative experience but was definitely not the case for me.
The Yogi 9i and Air are such different animals the comparison is a bit of a head scratcher IMO. The Thinkpad x1 would have been fun to compare. At this point everyone already owns an Air(myself included) there's no new information that can be shared about it.
nah I don't think walking around with a seperate keyboard would work for me. I like the fact that you open your laptop and are ready to go without additional things neccesary
Love the idea of 2 OLED screens. The only thing keeping me from getting one is being a sketcher/painter I would need a pen as good (or nearly as good) as the Apple Pencil 2 or at least as good as the Surface Pen 2. The idea to have a photo to sketch from on the top and the sketch/paint program on the bottom screen. Also, like the large Surface Duo-like 2 screens rather than the fold idea of a continuous OLED Screen.
I purchased this early on and I'm just fascinated by the dual screens. It's fairly fast though it does stutter some. The battery life is decent/good considering it has two screens. But to be honest I think this is perfect for a) people who absolutely need two large screens, b) those who can use it in an office, hotel room, or home office setup. But to be honest I actually found it cumbersome at times. It's just way to big for using both screens on an airplane. And it even seemed kinda weird using it in a coffee shop. And then the price - it's very expensive. So, I ended up going with the Asus Zenbook duo. I can use it in dual screen laptop form whenever it's open and the second screen with the keyboard is a real second screen unlike the 9i when the keyboard is attached. It's actually the perfect size for what I need a second screen for. And I paid less than $700.

The physical keyboard should probably include features like the Logitech devices, being able to be used with multiple devices at one time. Oh my ... i just discovered your channel ... Excellent work. Fast, but with details, to the point, covering a lot in short time. Did I say Excellent :D
It look’s pretty good, I’m just not sure why using a touch screen would be obviously bad. I mean, the pop-up keyboard on my iPad is great and a multi-touch screen has to be better than a conventional touch pad surely, I suppose if the implementation is bad with the missing haptics it probably explains the bad experience. But ultimately, nailing that touch interface on the bottom screen has to be paramount for this form factor, that’s my take anyway.

hey ella! thanks for the review. I want to know how good is the laptop for note taking. please make a detailed video on note taking on the lenovo yoga book 9i.
Awesome content 👏 👌 👍 Quick question, at 8:19 in the video, could the top screen be split view & have the keyboard control part of the top screen while taking notes on the bottom screen 🤔...like have ms word & video on top screen at same time..when using the keyboard, does the keyboard default to the top screen at 8:19 🤔 thanks 🙏like I'd have the keyboard in front of the laptop, not on the laptop thanks again
This is the best laptop for a salesperson who do presentations on the go with one on one clients everyday. Like a insurance broker, financial advisor, medical sales rep etc. They can e-sign their applications with the pen and touch screens which is useful as well.
Like foldable screens smart cell phones, introductory dual screen laptops will only keep on getting better as time advances towards the future, if there is an individual need for them. So os, YES dual screen laptops are the future of LAPTOPS to match. Having said that, seems that the Yoga Book 9i is targeted more towards students at a University, other than that excellent introductory review to the Yoga Book 9i. Thanks, for showing how you use your Yoga Book 9i, that gave me a lot of ideas on how dual screen laptops could be used. Other than that, since the Yoga Book 9i is an introductory dual screen laptop, there will always be limitations whether in hardware or software that of which limitations can be improved in a future dual screen laptops. I guess for the time being one would have to ge used to typing in a touch screen keyboard other wise it would be a so good idea to carry around a wired physical keyboard and a pointing device in the dual screen laptop’s backpack, right? I don’t really like having my Bluetooth on for long periods of time either and that is that. Thanks for the review and ideas on how the Yoga Book 9i could be used! 👏👏👏👌🥰💻⭐️💎
Very interesting device, thanks for the revie. it would be nice to see a review of presentation mode in videoconferencing mode. For example a talk given via Zoom. Top screen for video and Zoom controls and bottom screen for the content. It could be any other app like Google meet for instance, the content that you share could be ppt files or pdf, since those are the most common ones when teaching.
Given that you have to carry everything separately anyway, wouldn't it be easier, cheaper and produce the exact same results just to buy a portable second screen? Its less hassle and produces the same functionality. Many are even making these to match specific laptop models (Dell with their XPS line and LG with the gram for example). With this thing, you have to carry and setup the keyboard separately (unless you are content just to use it as a glorified tablet) - with another laptop, you can always just flip it open and get going for when you don't need a second screen.
good day everyone can you help me make a choice between microsoft surfacr pro 8 or 9 detachable keyboard and Lenovo yoga 7i or 9i convertible laptop 2 in 1 please I'm confused how comfortable both will be when going out with one. i fixe phone for hubby so therefore i install flashing software on my device i sub the net watch youtbe, Netflix etc...& maybe little editing I'm curious because both have there advantages and disadvantages like the surface pro it cannot be placed on the lap but it has a kickstand and i think it easy to carry arroud while the Lenovo can be placed on lap but must always go with keyboard so please help me make a good choice and of course battery life thank you.
I would love to get this laptop. I have always looked at the keyboard and wondered it would be so nice to have a touchscreen keyboard. I have been dreaming of a laptop like this for quite a while and Lenovo goes ahead and makes one. In fact I have been dreaming about this for the past two months after seeing the show Oriville. I wonder why Lenovo didn't put the mother board in the top screen and have the bottom half just for the battery. That way the laptop wouldn't get that warm except for when you charge it. Putting the battery in the top screen would make the laptop fall over because it would get too heavy, so that would have to go at the bottom. Amazing device and one that I would get. Physical keyboards are so yesterday.
i feel like this laptop would be so much better with an AMD chip instead of an intel one, for once better battery life and graphics but also most likely better performance as low power intel chips are mediocre to say the least
Would you get this dual screen laptop?
I think yes if it was at a lower price.
I dont find it useful but it draws me in

Gotta say, thats pretty damn cool tbh! i could see that being awesome for digital artists, drawing on the bottom screen and the overall image on the top screen, or something along that lines.
that's def a great use case for it
as someone who understands nothing about makeup and outfits, whatever you did with your looks makes me really confortable, you´re obviously already beautiful but you look gorgeous in all the right ways perfect for the vibes your videos give, if I can say stuff like that. Nice review, just subscribed
Once they produce this thing with a foldable screen, it will be S-Tier!
Lenovo. I need a 16 inch 4k version of this laptop! Make it happen now!
8:54 Tent mode would be awesome for 2 player split screen games!
Thx for the review video!..
Keep it up
hey ella! thanks for the review. I want to know how good is the laptop for note taking. please make a detailed video on note taking on the lenovo yoga book 9i.
love your vid over everyone else, your consideration of detail really touches average users! keep it up
the only complete sensible review in youtube. thank you. can you upgrades it's ssd size? how much maximum can it be upgraded?
This laptop's dual screen specs are a great idea for recording and streaming.
Fantastic Video
Fantastic Explanation in detail
💯 / 💯
I love your channel and your reviews.
In your opinion what is best the 9i dual screen or iPad Pro 12.9 M2?
Great content as usual
thanks for watching!
I am def getting this on release
Wow, this is so clever! I'm speechless
Ella @2:25 what app you using to Edit and do corrections ?
Great review!
Awesome content 👏 👌 👍
Quick question, at 8:19 in the video, could the top screen be split view & have the keyboard control part of the top screen while taking notes on the bottom screen 🤔...like have ms word & video on top screen at same time..when using the keyboard, does the keyboard default to the top screen at 8:19 🤔 thanks 🙏like I'd have the keyboard in front of the laptop, not on the laptop thanks again
This is the best laptop for a salesperson who do presentations on the go with one on one clients everyday. Like a insurance broker, financial advisor, medical sales rep etc. They can e-sign their applications with the pen and touch screens which is useful as well.
Very nice review with demo
Just a suggestion: Try putting more matching wallpapers with laptop so it catches the eye.
Btw your videos are awesome and I like them very much 😄.
Is this good with a 3D program Zbrush?
thanks for watching :)
Ella once again saving my ass during a research blitz.
very detailed thank you
Great video! How’s the battery life on this Laptop ?
Nice Presentation Thanks a lot
The 2ds xl plus lookin awesome
Great review. Subbed.
Thanks for the sub!
Exceptional review and comparison. Koodos
Good review lots of tech...I don't like the reflection that can appear on the screens & not happy about the keyboard performance 😢😢😢
looks really good, really well polished and sleak, this is the future were gonna be in
When the two screens are vertical can they act as one big screen?
I'd like to know as well. 😀
I also wonder if waterfall mode works on vertical. I don't think so though.
As a fulltime programmer, I think this is the best device to take out of the everyday office environment,
What does the 2nd screen do? I don't get this.
this looks very practical for students, I worry about the longevity of it tho. looks like something that might need to be replaced in a few years
As a student myself it would be impractical as hell
Especially for codeing classes
Hi, I'm hoping you could help. Does this laptop run Adobe well? Particularly photoshop and illustrator.
Looks awesome , hope it's good with long run like even after 2 years battery don't degrade more than 50% then it'll be better competitor to MacBook.
What it's like with resting your palms on the second screen with the attached keyboard? As in, when you type on a 'regular' laptop?
Awesome 🤩 😎 👏🏾 video
Given that you have to carry everything separately anyway, wouldn't it be easier, cheaper and produce the exact same results just to buy a portable second screen? Its less hassle and produces the same functionality.
Many are even making these to match specific laptop models (Dell with their XPS line and LG with the gram for example).
With this thing, you have to carry and setup the keyboard separately (unless you are content just to use it as a glorified tablet) - with another laptop, you can always just flip it open and get going for when you don't need a second screen.
You can even use other device like a tablet or a phone as second screen
There are solution for all 3 main operating systems
good day everyone can you help me make a choice between microsoft surfacr pro 8 or 9 detachable keyboard and Lenovo yoga 7i or 9i convertible laptop 2 in 1 please I'm confused how comfortable both will be when going out with one. i fixe phone for hubby so therefore i install flashing software on my device i sub the net watch youtbe, Netflix etc...& maybe little editing
I'm curious because both have there advantages and disadvantages like the surface pro it cannot be placed on the lap but it has a kickstand and i think it easy to carry arroud while the Lenovo can be placed on lap but must always go with keyboard so please help me make a good choice and of course battery life
thank you.
Thank you!
