Thanks for another great lesson, Jeremy! I have always found that I instinctively avoid a fifth in a chord voicing on both piano and guitar if it is perfect. However, if the fifth is sharped or flattened, then it is obviously an essential color tone and I include it. Does anyone else feel this way?
Thanks for this lesson, Jeremy. For the purposes of familiarizing yourself with the sounds, I am going to practice this page 36 using my right hand thumb to play the top notes whenever my left hand can’t reach it. I don’t see any harm in it, do you agree?
I'd need to see it to tell ya - sorry! In general, shells are played in the left hand, freeing up the right hand to play melodies, so usually I try to keep them in the right hand and divide up the chords if they're too big.
Nice video ! Congratulations! Let me ask what apps do you use to make this videos ? Do you use for score ? How do you capture the screen of your iPad and combine with camera ?
'Bonus options dance'😂 Such a great and important lesson Jeremy! Thanks! Cheers!🥂
Haha you’ve gotta show off your dance moves at every opportunity!
Again, great information for Shell Voicings. Glad to give explanation to the many things I hear pianists doing.
Fantastic - thanks, Joyce!
Great lesson for guitar players too!
No guitar players allowed! Just kidding...😂 😉
Great lesson thank you! I cant thank you enough to bring such great contents in everyone's place. My passion for jazz pianism is now blossoming again.
That's so nice! Happy practicing. :)
Fascinating! Particularly that last minute or so on how the tapestry of textures works. Thank you, just ordered books 1 and 2.
Perfect addition to your book! Please deep dive also on other book lessons!
I've got some things coming your way you'll be excited about, Francesco!
I like the roll on the 10th as I use it as a rhythmic device. 👌🏾👌🏾
Yes! Make it musical!
Hi Jeremy, I know you are working on audio for those examples in the book. Could you please let me know when it's finished?
Sure thing - sign up for my mailing list at www.jeremysiskind.com and you’ll be notified with an email.
Really useful lesson. Thank you!. Your voice in relation to the piano could be louder?
Thanks for the input - I'm always trying to do better getting the microphone closer to my mouth, so I appreciate the feedback.

although I noticed in Autumn Leaves you played a half diminished possibly as a 3rd and a 7th, and no flatted 5th, so I guess all of the above works!
Yes, I don't think the the 5th ever becomes an essential tone, although it is often nice to hear it.
*Metal guitarists everywhere howl in outrage.*
@@AaronJSussman True! When I started my musical journey learning all of James Hetfield's riffs, those roots and perfect fifths were all important!
I agree, I actually keep the b5 and omit the b3 on m7b5 chords.

Here's a video on what to do when intervals are too big: th-cam.com/video/c-_73S19Q4E/w-d-xo.html
Hi Jeremy, if we buy your book for international shipping do we have to buy from amazon or is it possible to buy it to you directly ?
Hi Frederic. Yes, buy from Amazon. Sadly, international shipping is too pricy for me to do myself. Thanks for your interest!
U da man
No, you da man, Thompson!

I use Forscore in conjunction with OBS. :) If y0u're not familiar, check out OBS, it's free and pretty easy to use.
@@JeremySiskind thank you so much. I do use OBS but didn’t know it was possible to use with iPad. Thank you a lot !!!
