    I was really sad when Caelynn mentioned the attackers got away with it. It’s not right, you’re allowed to drink a glass a wine and not have it drugged with substances that will incapacitate you to the point of rendering you unable to fight back or remember what happened, even if she was underage. How can the college’s think that is not rape, put yourselves in their parents shoes, what if that was your child! Ugh this bureaucratic crap on college campuses has to stop!

    Of course it was well known that Colton's former girlfriend, Aly Raisman, was one of the sexually abused victims of former physician Larry Nassar, but seeing how it affected Colton was interesting. It doesn't fully explain his decision to remain a virgin since he was well over 20 at the time but it's definitely a huge part of it.

    • @alainazajac

      Cabal Paxiarch He’s a virgin because he wanted to do it with someone he genuinely loved. He has fully answered it probably 10,000 times already.

      @caitlinbishop6624 5 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      He’s explained that he was a virgin for many reasons. First he was raised in a Christian home, then he made the decision to just wait for the right person instead of marriage but he was so intensely focused on sports he couldn’t find time to be in a serious relationship. Then when he dated Aly and from the way he talked about it I think he would’ve lost his virginity to her but that was around the time everything happening with Larry Nassar was coming out and as she was dealing with that they probably decided not to have sex because she was healing from sexual violence. Like he said, his answer is complicated and there have been many things that led him to be a virgin at this point.

    I do not fault Colton AT ALL for this, because 1) he didn't say her name and 2) he has every right to have that conversation with someone he's dating, but I think it was a little uncool for the producers to keep the clip of Colton talking about Aly's intimacy struggles after sexual assault in the episode. Aly is a public figure and a public survivor and she talks about a lot of the ways it has affected her, and I just think it's kind of insensitive for the Bachelor producers to air out an aspect of that abuse she hadn't talked about herself. I know Colton didn't say her name, so it's not like they said, "Aly Raisman couldn't be intimate with Colton because of her abuse," but she's been in the news pretty regularly for about two years straight, and she's a 3x Olympic Gold medalist, it's not a hard leap to make.

    • @daniellebarletta6662
      @daniellebarletta6662 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Alyssa Ricks I mean her sexual abuse was broadcasted everywhere...she spoke in trail which was on tv and if you search it on TH-cam it’s on there. It’s not secret. I think talking about it helps a lot of different survivors and people going through it.

    • @AlyssaRicks
      @AlyssaRicks 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@daniellebarletta6662 I know she is public about her abuse, but she hadn't spoken about intimacy issues as a result, and maybe that was one thing she wanted to keep private, and I just hope maybe Colton or the producers reached out to her beforehand. I understand how this information helps survivors, but Aly has been so public about everything else that the abuse has affected in order to help, so maybe her choosing to keep some things quiet is something we need to respect.

      I think people can put 2 and 2 together. When I first heard that Colton was a virgin, I thought, how could he be if he dated Aly Raisman, and then it dawned on me. She was the love of his life and his first true love. I wish things would have worked out between them.

This is her form of justice against the boys who were never held accountable for their actions! I do not think this is a platform of any kind, but it's her story that is very real and personal and should be talked about when a relationship gets serious even if it's on a tv show, which people have been asking for years to show more conversations like this one. The real conversations. My sister and I were victims of sexual assault. My sister sought justice, I became reclusive for many years. When I talk about my experience now, I'm just as calm as she is because, like you said, she's healing and I'm healing (you never fully heal from that situation).
