I tested the Duty DS9 and was pretty impressed, especially for the price. It has something I've come to call 'The Tisas Thing.' Looked at everything is good but not exceptional. Then you shoot it and it all comes together and IS exceptional. I don't know how that works, but I've encountered it on a number of their 1911s and now the DS. Great guns, great price!
@@OpieInTheSmokies FYI the name thing isn't because of a "stigma" it's because 2011 is a copyrighted term by staccato and SVI. Hence why a lot of companies use the term "2011 type" or "2011 style"
What is the hoodie you are rocking ? I’m digging that. I just picked up the 45acp single stack Night Stalker. Tisas is gonna be getting more of my money… they’re really putting out some excellent 1911s.
Man from a looks perspective I really wish they would have ran the rail all the way out. Looks a little goofy with it only partial. Still cool, but could have been cooler.
Excellent in depth review. Question though, I’m looking at getting into competition shooting. Would you recommend this or the night stalker PX9 for an entry level comp gun? Thank you!!
I mean I’m planning on getting a Tisas B45R or a SS45R (assuming it’s on sale for under $500) for my first handgun But their double stacks look very very tempting. Not that they are competitors, but if I’m gonna spend about 1k on a double stack 9mm, I might get an sig P226. So many good options, not enough money in the wallet lol.
Damn homie who pissed in your wheaties this morning? If you actually listened I explain the optics that work, and the cut it has. As usual stupid comments from commenters to start my day.
@@OpieInTheSmokies You did not state if it comes with plate or has recoil bosses nor did you show a pic of the milled slide. If that's a stupid question then you are Whiskey tango. Do better.
@@bkhix208 it doesn’t come with a plate Jesus Christ. Direct means directly to the slide I don’t know how to be any clearer than that. You’re being picky. You want to see the footprint look up the optic size on google which I clearly mention and you’re a big boy capable of looking it up I’m sure.

The MAC or the Tisas carry one will be mine hopefully soon 😅
Would love to see a follow-up review on the carry model. It's very close to the C2, but 1/3 msrp... maybe even less street price.
Funny you ask. Actually finishing the edit right now and hoping to get it uploaded to TH-cam by Thursday/Friday.
@@OpieInTheSmokies Perfect! I'll look forward to watching. This may be my next purchase when available.
@@OpieInTheSmokies Do you know if tisas will offer a threaded barrel for those models ?

Thanks for the review, great vid. Tisas bringing great value to the market 😎👍🏼
100% Thanks for watching!
I really appreciate this review I just ordered one today.
Love the sad 1911 Night stalker
Mines work without a booster.. cycles perfectly fine
Looking forward to adding this to my single stack night stalker.
Great one to add for sure bro

Great review. BTW, 2011 is owned/trademark by Stacatto soooo...yeah, everyone else just goes with DS instead of lawsuits😂
Haha makes sense
Fun fact: Tisas is also right in your backyard in Knoxville, TN
Yup!
Just bought a nightstalker single stack. So far it is very impressive. I will get the double stack.

Freedom industries on the hoodie
Just purchased a B9R 1911 Railed because I couldn't wait. As soon as this drops, order will be in. This or the MAC.
heck yeah!
What light & holster are you running that allows your light to stay attached?
Surefire 300 and trex arms ragnarok holster
@@OpieInTheSmokieswhich ragnarok? One for the stacatto?
It’s a banger ! Definitely will add one !
Heck yeah man!
Nice review, very detailed. What is the biggest red dot window in the RMSc footprint available for this pistol today? Thanks again.
I know theres a few "Big Window" optics out there but I havent had a chance to mess with them yet.

YESSSSS
What type of holster does this use I bought the 4.25 b9r ds and I wanted to order a trex arms holster in the staccato p size
Was using a Trex arms Glock Holster
What was the issue with shooting suppressed and having to rack the slide after each shot?
I forgot my booster for the can and turned it into a bolt action lol. Totally my fault
Just ordered one! Anyone know if the Springfield prodigy mags will work in this? I know their website says it will work with any Sti/2011 mags
Not sure brother but if it says on their website I’m sure they have tested it.
From who? I want one too!
Love the video. Looking forward to getting this gun but not gonna lie the 5+ lb trigger pull doesn’t have me excited
It really doesn’t feel that heavy. I was shocked too. Feels closer to 4.
@@OpieInTheSmokies That’s good to know. Hopefully some aftermarket parts/adjustments can get it into the 3 lb range
what screw size did you need to mount the holosun 507k? i have the same dot and wanted to mount mine as well, but I am not sure which size to order.
I’m sorry I’m not much help I have a random basket of optic screws and picked two that looked close to each other 😂
Very late, but for anyone else that comes along, M3-0.5x10mm.
I believe i just may get one of these.
wen do they drop
Available now
Are you going to review the MAC 9 ds?
I hope so. This is the other one I’m interested in
I’m hoping so!! The carry DS is the next video coming out this weekend.
@OpieInTheSmokies thanks! I am looking forward to that review. The carry is on my bucket list.
What type of holster does this use?
I was making do with a glock holster lol
What holster are you using? I am wanting to be able to holster the gun with the light
Trex Arms Ragnarok SD
Do they fit in 1911 holsters, with an open bottom?
Didn’t have a chance to try that.
@@OpieInTheSmokies have you been able to try it in any other holsters yet? Curious if it has a staccato enough footprint to plug into those

Trex Arms Ragnarok for a Glock

I would take this DS over the PX9 for comp. But the PX9 a good one too.
Do they make them in 45acp?
Yes but not double stacked
i just scooped this up today and am in love with it. what optics did you put on ? did it mount directly or did you need a plate ? also what holster ?
507k and mounted directly!
Holster I was using a Trex arms ragnarok that worked off my surefire 300 light
@@OpieInTheSmokies i bought one as well , looking into extended mag releases and compensators now
900$ worth it all day, even if you still need to buy a few 8$ springs here and there .

Trex Arms Ragnarok Glock Holster
What Holster you running??
Trex arms
what t rex holster did you get, I spoke to them and they said they dont make a holster for the Tisas
What's up bruh, have you shot the Tisas duty 5" DS 1911 if so how would you compare? 😎
