    • @AsutoshBellur

      Bro you can do it by yourself. But you will still have to pay for the trek at the forest office entrance. You will be given a guide. It is compulsory. But don't worry, once you are there you will find some company. Not necessary to choose a package. You go there and you will figure things out. People will help you with the process.

    This trek start from gurute? Or kattinhole

    • @AsutoshBellur
      @AsutoshBellur  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. There are different ways to do the trek. You can start from either Gurute or Kattinahole. Both lead to Hidlumane falls from which the route is the same. Kattinahole from what I heard is a more scenic and tougher route. What we did was over Nittur. The route is currently closed due to heavy rains.

    Very informative comment section and video bro. How much did santosh homestay cost?

    • @AsutoshBellur
      @AsutoshBellur  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Akash (: if you go during season it will cost you 500 per head for a night stay. No food included. But I'd suggest you don't take food as well. There are good small cheap restaurants around. If you are a larger group of 8 or 10 you can work it out for 3 - 3.5k. during weekdays you can stay over at as low a price at 200 per head as well.

    What was the price for jeep from peak per head.

    • @AsutoshBellur
      @AsutoshBellur  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Price of the jeep will be 2400 rupees. It will depend now how many people are seated. If you go in a group, there can be as many as 8 people sitting inside. That way it will cost 300 per head. If you do not go in a group, try to get along with one and share.

      You can Park your car at Santosh Homestay. Even if you don't want to stay there, they won't charge you for it. Don't worry. The people who run the place are a sweet couple. If you are not able to find the place, you can call them up on the following number and request them: 9449640546.
      If you need any assistance do let me know. Since I did the trek recently I am in touch with people around. You can just reply here and I will get an alert as a text message. Good luck and hope you enjoy and have a great trek.

      Hey Sagar. PWD guest house is not operational at the moment. It is closed down due to COVID. Good that you commented here. Nittur side trek is not possible as the river is flooded. You should go over Kattinahole even if you start over Nittur as well. If this is the first time you are doing the trek I'd recommend that you take a guide.

      You can actually directly take your car there or you can ask the localities about the route. Easier way will be ask Santosh from the homestay. He will let you know the route. People are really kind and helpful there. We arranged for a jeep through a hotel where we had our breakfast at Nittur. They were really kind. Anyone can easily direct you there.

      Once you reach the last hut at Hidlumane where you pay for the entry you can also choose to take a guide from there. The Forrest department will themselves give you a guide for 1000 rupees. Ask the localities how to reach there when you start from Kattinahole or Nittur. Untill there it is fairly easy.
