Kodachadri is a mountain peak with dense forests (elevation - 1,343 metres above sea level) in the Western Ghats in South India (Shivamogga District, Karnataka), 78 km from Shimoga. Kodachadri is the highest peak in Shivamogga district. It is declared as natural heritage site by the Karnataka Government.And it is 13th highest peak of Karnataka.

It's fee free trecking from kodachadri village. Only for zeep we should pay if we r going in tht. But both ways r different and I found the path u choose is more attractive than zeep route or tracking route from kodachadri village. But u will meet hindlumane falls on the way n u can't miss it.

Total 9 times i trekked to kudjadri...7 times through walkinf from karekate to kudjadri without forest dep. Pass.. one time in jeep...last time with trek with forest pass....The thing is after corono they are telling that govt begin ticket system to control unwanted entries...But in my view i think it was an adjustment with drivers.Because previously one person had a tea shop near to this forest aid post..Those who passing through this area will get food from here..Same time that persons son was kollur kudjadri jeep driver..But before corono that person died.Nw shop is no more..Now His son running another shop in the jeep treaking road...my assumption is that if the officals put charge as 400 per head.Then gradually jeep drivers will get income.coz for the jeep per head is 450 to 500...If the income is more for them officials will get their TIPS...
